A recent episode of Jimmy Fallon Live, guest-starred Samuel L. Jackson, revealed a few tidbits regarding Jackson's Nick Fury role in Marvel's Cinematic Universe. With the most interesting tidbit being that Fury would have a female side-kick in the crossover spectacle The Avengers. During the show a few minor details may have been revealed regarding the character, and her portrayer.

Twitter user, Elmayimbe, who just happens to be a writer for Latino Review, has been updating his account with hints that he may know who this female character could be, and her casting specs.

"I been tracking the female sidekick role in Avengers for months. Its not The Wasp. They are going to cast an unknown...no name actress. All of her scenes are only with Sam Jackson, which leads me to believe the female sidekick is one of shields administrative characters. They were looking at Asian and white girls. Sam Jackson DID NOT want an african american sidekick. There is an unknown actress who had callbacks that Joss liked. Calm down folks, it aint gonna be action heroine type role. The breakdown said administrative. Sam Jackson blew my cover."

And more recent tweets shows how he's currently determined to find out who the 5 candidates for the role are. Be on the lookout for an update.

Just because it is an administrative role doesn't mean it won't be Wasp. They could mix it up a bit. That way she could technically be a part of The Avengers, without having powers and her powers can be finally revealed in the Ant-Man movie, allowing the Pyms to be active members of Avengers 2. I'm tempted to say first, but I won't. Instead I'll say... Narf?

Also, they said they were looking at white and asian women? Well Janet was white in 616 and asian in Ultimates.

Anything "administrative" isn't a side-kick. Just saying. Is Pepper Potts Ironman's "side-kick"? I'd say War Machine is more qualified for that title, even though he isn't anyone's "side-kick". A side-kick normally does what their mentor does along side them. If you do the tasks your mentor doesn't want to do, you're a bitch, not a side-kick.

So who'll play Nick's bitch?
superotherside - 2/3/2011, 10:31 AM
i think it's maria hill...
Shaman - 2/3/2011, 10:44 AM
Please don't tell me they'll merge the two characters... They'll make her out to be Maria Hill at first and then she'll be a part of the team as Janet/wasp. If so, i think they should scratch Hill's name and not the other way around.

Yup. Maria Hill.
Daniellantern - 2/3/2011, 11:22 AM

Enter Kanye West: Sam Jackson does not care about black people.
bbguy - 2/3/2011, 11:32 AM
@weneedrevelation So what if they were both white?
Exiles - 2/3/2011, 11:36 AM
if they cast it sort of ruins her character for him to be honest, maria hill was choosen as shield director because she had no connection or any sort of loyalty to nick fury, she hated the guy but what ever wouldn't have a problem with it

JaySin420 - 2/3/2011, 3:26 PM
Fallon rules, you can tell he's a fan from that interview. The second SLJ sat down he just pelted him with Avengers stuff, he even said if this was comic con people would be rioting right now.
BlackWindThaAstonishing - 2/3/2011, 3:34 PM
I want Carol Danvers, but honestly I think it's gonna be Maria Hill. I hate Maria Hill. But then again maybe they'll throw us all for a loop and it'll be some one totally random like Victoria Hand or Jenifer Walters or something. But Hill is the most likely.
ChrisMc - 2/3/2011, 4:12 PM
There's no such show as Jimmy Fallon Live. Get your shit together, douche.
DeadPoolLax - 2/3/2011, 5:18 PM
maria hill... definitely. definitely maria hill.
KidGoku - 2/3/2011, 5:51 PM
I really hope that its not Maria Hill. Because it might lead to Civil War, and a Civil War movie wouldn't work out.
Joe6Pack74 - 2/3/2011, 9:16 PM
If it is an administrative chick. She better have really long legs and really short skirt.
