Speculated on several occasions, until the developing cast were being announced, a new outset may reveal that the villainous Dr. Hugo Strange will be appearing in Christopher Nolan's long-awaited The Dark Knight Rises film. In a production update via My Entertainment World, the site offers the following:

DARK KNIGHT RISES, THE (aka MAGNUS REX & FOX HILLS GREEN) - Mid June, 2011 - India & London, UK & New York, NY & Pittsburgh, PA; Details Are only Available By Subscription.. STORY: As Batman deals with his new status as a wanted vigilante, Dr. Hugo Strange, a villainous psychiatrist, concocts a plan to destroy him and become the new Batman. (Posted: June 17, 2010. Revised: April 11, 2011)

While the validity of the site is questionable, the productions opposite TDKR are verily accurate. And also, with the confirmed villains appearing in the film, Hugo Strange's "plan" could easily involve Bane, Catwoman, Talia al Ghul and even Alberto Falcone. And it's also known there will be a vintage villain. Anyhow, take it with a grain of salt, as production gears up this summer.

I theory I have, if Hugo doesn't appear, at least by name, his motive of wanting to be Batman could be mixed with one of the other new confirmed characters. What do you think?

Anyhow, starring Christian Bale, Morgan Freeman, Anne Hathaway, Gary Oldman, Tom Hardy, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Michael Caine, Josh Pence and Marion Cotillard rumored, The Dark Knight Rises hits theaters July 20, next year!

I'm expecting this to be hard to believe, but you never know. What I do think is, if Hugo doesn't appear, at least by name, his motive of wanting to be Batman could be mixed with one of the other characters.
StrangerX - 4/12/2011, 11:50 AM
I was thinking that Nolan would mix Bane with Strange.
AlexDeLarge87 - 4/12/2011, 11:57 AM
StrangerX@ That could be possible? However if Hugo appears in the movie as totally separate character i would like to see Bryan Cranston in that role.
ThreeBigTacos - 4/12/2011, 12:03 PM
AlexDeLarge87: geeze man you have an actor set up for every character out there! Lol I usually love your choices too
JULEZ13 - 4/12/2011, 12:05 PM
I think it would be cool to include Hugo Strange in the film. I honestly hope they don't mix his characters with Bane. Nolan has done a pretty good job with staying pretty true to the characters. Hugo Strange would be a great addition to the mix of characters and will help end the trilogy with a great big bang!
jazzman - 4/12/2011, 12:06 PM
@AlexDeLarge87

how long is your list of actors for different movies cause i need to check them out LOL

Forilaz - 4/12/2011, 12:07 PM
This and the JGL-is-he-playing-Alberto Falcone-no-he's-not-he-actually-is stuff is just getting ridiculous.
johnnysnow - 4/12/2011, 12:09 PM
is anyone else sick of hearing the 'grain of salt' expression?
DCMarvelFreshman - 4/12/2011, 12:10 PM
@johnnysnow Yes, sorry.)
Kamdan - 4/12/2011, 12:10 PM
It sure as Hell better not be who Joseph Gordon-Levitt is playing!
Jer3miah - 4/12/2011, 12:12 PM
@JULEZ13: I suppose I wouldn't mind this, either, but still; I feel Bane deserves most of the spotlight, as he's one to strategically take Batman down. Bane is like Ras and Joker put together. Why wouldn't they let him be the main bad guy? I dunno, maybe they can pull it off...
balegirlbrazil - 4/12/2011, 12:16 PM
Hugo Strange won´t be in this.
That´s bs.
I hope Strange isn´t in TDKR.

ROB-IN-WILL-IAMS! CLAP CLAP CLAP CLAPCLAPCLAP!
DarkVenom - 4/12/2011, 12:18 PM
Perhaps Strange could utilise Bane for his pure strength and perhaps Alberto for an undercover role in order to gain information on people close to Batman? (All part of a master plan) I don't know, just a thought.
AlexDeLarge87 - 4/12/2011, 12:20 PM
BigThreeTacos@ Thanks! I have a big list of names inside my head and i just pick the right one to the right role!;)
You could also say i have a good face and name memory!

jazz@ I can tell you just that its long!;D lol

Check out my Batman fancast guys if you like my casting choices.

I wonder if all these anti-grif posts make him cry?

As for this rumor; what ever happens, happens.

itbegins, I'm sure Nolan will get right on that just for you and your nerves.
JWStubner - 4/12/2011, 12:22 PM
Hugo Strange NEEDS to be in this. He could have a complex relationship with Bane. Bane is like an amalgamation of Strange and Ra's Al Ghul in the sense of his brilliance and obsession of Batman. This film is going to be EPIC.
superotherside - 4/12/2011, 12:23 PM
speculation, speculation, and more speculation... i'm taking everything with a huge grain of salt until official info...
JULEZ13 - 4/12/2011, 12:30 PM
@jer3miah: I agree with you. Bane should be he main villain. It would be cool to see them both fight. But I just figured having Hugo Strange would make more conflict.

I honestly don't care I just wanna see a good CBM. I'm just hoping its better than TDK because if Ledger wasn't in it that movie would've really dragged. IMHO.
Bandrews1 - 4/12/2011, 12:32 PM
Interesting.
nailbiter111 - 4/12/2011, 12:33 PM
i get the feeling that bane is actually a red herring. i bet the dude who is supposed to be bane will actually end up being hugo strange. it makes more sense.
Cross - 4/12/2011, 12:43 PM
robin williams!!!
Knightstalker - 4/12/2011, 12:45 PM
I don't always agree with Grif, but I don't always disagree with him either. Put me on Team Grif as well, thank you.
megabatfan - 4/12/2011, 12:45 PM
In the "Prey" storyline, wasn't Strange experimenting on people? Bane can be one of his experiments.
Hopefully they'll give Catwoman some ties to the Falcone Family.
& Then we have Talia in the mix wanting revenge...
soaponapope - 4/12/2011, 12:45 PM
this is why i dont believe anything except the characters. i honestly dont even think that this is the real name of the movie. they're hiding the real details because they want to keep the plot under wraps
The8atman - 4/12/2011, 12:46 PM
The idea isn't too far fetched, check out the comic Prey. Hugo uses some cop for his muscle to pose as a vigilante to bring down Batman (who at the time is considered a fugitive). I'm just a little leary of all these characters, seems this is the same recipe for disaster for any 3rd movie of a comic series. I hope it doesn't fail, if anyone can pull it off its Nolan.
DocDrop - 4/12/2011, 12:46 PM
No way, nailbiter, Tom Hardy IS Bane. Watch the movie, "Bronson". 'nuff said.
Forilaz - 4/12/2011, 12:48 PM

skullboy - 4/12/2011, 12:50 PM
Man, that's gonna be a but much. Bane, Catwoman, whoever Joseph Gordon Levitt's gonna play, and now Strange. I wish they just left out Bane and have Joseph play the Riddler so it would just be those three. We'll see how this will all go.
The8atman - 4/12/2011, 12:51 PM
Has anyone addressed what the deal is with Katie Holmes showing up in the cast list?
VictorHugo - 4/12/2011, 1:03 PM
this is starting to sound like Spiderman 3 + Batman Forever.

Batspider Forever :)
JaySin420 - 4/12/2011, 1:10 PM
I don't get why there would be all these new characters. If this really is Nolan's last Batman movie, wouldn't he want to focus on Batman more?
RockNRollCC - 4/12/2011, 1:30 PM
hrm...more rumors...

must investigate further... |-(

SuperSpiderMan5778 - 4/12/2011, 1:56 PM
that would be cool to have strange in it and if they do they should do something like Arkham City but in this case it would be Gotham City and instead of a contained area of prisoners it would be Arkham inmates running amuck in the City of Gotham
marvel72 - 4/12/2011, 2:17 PM
too many villains = epic fail.

bring on the reboot, team grif rules.
HAQ - 4/12/2011, 2:44 PM
team grif is a bunch of fags. don't hate on my opinion.
PapaMidnite - 4/12/2011, 3:02 PM
Make sense! Maybe HS is the villain from the very old comics that mr Oldman mentioned before, right?
RockNRollCC - 4/12/2011, 3:06 PM
wow. No offense, but you people on team grif are idiots

How are you judging this movie on stuff YOU DONT EVEN KNOW IS TRUE? There's no OFFICIAL plot out yet. There are characters that haven't OFFICIALLY even been confirmed yet (Falcone, Strange, Black Mask, etc). Again, you're judging this movie on THINGS YOU DONT EVEN KNOW ARE TRUE.
Has Nolan ever done wrong? No.
Are you still going to see the movie, despite everything you're saying? Yes. I have no doubt you will.

I'm sorry, but you griffateers deserve to be slapped. hard.

Dumb Pictures, Images and Photos
PapaMidnite - 4/12/2011, 3:15 PM
Why you people keep saying thats "too many villains" bullshit? I don't get it... let's see: Bane, Talia [not confirmed], Alberto [not confirmed], Catwoman [not so villainous], maybe some mob bosses, and now HS [so very NOT confirmed].
Well, in Begins we had Ducard, Ras (Watanabe), Scarecrow, Zsasz, Ras, Falcone, Chill, Earl, Flass. In TDK we had Joker, Maroni, Chechen, Scarecrow, Two-face, Lau, some bad cops... So c'mon, team Grif, chill out and have a beer. Oh, I forgot you're all under aged.
