UPDATE 2: Alien Weaponry & More 'Captain America' Images From The Avengers' Set!

Further hinting at aliens being involved, mysterious weaponry as well someone in a motion-capture suit has been spotted on The Avengers' set, along with Captain America in action!

In the latest batch of images from The Avengers' set in Cleveland, even further proving there's extraterrestrial activity involved, futuristic weaponry has been spotted, along with a stuntmen in motion-capture suits. And with more shots of 'Captain America' offered, hinting that he may go toe-to-toe with the "invaders," check out the revealing images below, via Discordia77!

Marvel's The Avengers picks up when an unexpected enemy emerges that threatens global safety and security. And Nick Fury, director of the international peacekeeping agency known as S.H.I.E.L.D., finds himself in need of a team to pull the world back from the brink of disaster. With director Joss Whedon at it's helm, and an ensemble cast including Chris Evans (Steve Rogers), Robert Downey Jr. (Tony Stark), Chris Hemsworth (Thor Odinson), Jeremy Renner (Clint Barton), Mark Ruffalo (Bruce Banner), Scarlett Johansson (Natasha Romanoff), Clark Gregg (Agt. Phil Coulson), Cobie Smulders (Maria Hill), Samuel L. Jackson (Nick Fury), with Tom Hiddleston (Loki Laufeyson), and Stellan Skarsgard (Professor Erik Selvig), the film releases worldwide May 4, 2012!

Don't think Thanos ever needed a gun. The Avengers poster showed Cap with ear cut-outs, I'm liking the covered ear things. Still gonna be badass though.

Well it could be possible being Kang, like the "big threat" Fury was talking about in the movies could be Loki, he was maybe up to something, but, he could be plotting with Kang.

Heh... looking at scruffy Joss Whedon, I'm reminded of Sam Raimi's insistence on wearing a tie at all times while directing.

Personally, while I'd prefer Kang to Skrulls, I'd like to see them work up to him. Plant some clues about technology way ahead of its time (Timely Industries) and the like. Lead up to a full-scale invasion by Kang in the 3rd film (with Ultron in the second.)

the avengers is gonna own 2012 cbm wise,that is definetly alien tech.....i would say either kree or skrull but i maybe wrong.

That Cap suit needs some work. I'd like to see the ears exposed and a brown belt on him. It should have been a little more Ultimates inspired.

That action pose in the first pic gives me assurance that this suit would look Bada$$ in motion. Its now more than ever looking like the Skrull to me. Its a random guy in a motion capture suit probably portraying more than one in seprately cut action scenes.

Chris Evans looks awesome in those photos.The stunt guy could be doing mo-cap for Hulk.Plus that gun looks alien.The CGI for this movie will be epic.I think this movie will have a long final battle scene.

I'm really rooting for Kang to be the other mystery villain.I don't want to see a alien invasion involving the Skrulls.Plus moviegoers are tired of the whole aliens invasion shtick anyways.Battle:Los Angeles and Cowboys and Aliens have bombed this year.I think they should save Thanos for the third Avengers movie after they hopefully get the Fantastic Four and more character rights back.I know,wishful thinking.

I honestly don't think that guy is doing motion capture for a skrull. I've never really pictured a skrull being that large (that guy's pretty big). Maybe he's doing Thanos (who could very well have an alien army with him) or Kang. Hopefully Kang, Thanos would need more development.
