“I liked James [Gunn] a lot and it really was about him, and talking to him about the guy (Rocket Raccoon),” Bradley Cooper told Collider when they asked if he debated accepting the Guardians of the Galaxy role. “I wasn't familiar with the comic at all, and then I really loved it. I love that character, he's an incredible character. One thing we debated was he's seen as a cockney accent sometimes. So, we talked about whether we'd do that, or this other guy [accent] from the city,” said the American Hustler actor, confirming that they've decided on an accent - “Yes, we're in the middle of it.” When asked for his impressions of the footage he's seen, Cooper didn't hesitant saying “Chris Pratt is unbelievable! And Zoe Saldana's great! She's always great. Chris Pratt just blew me away, I thought he's like the perfect guy.” What do you think?

“Guardians of the Galaxy,” the next epic adventure from Marvel Studios, is directed by James Gunn from his screenplay, with a story by Nicole Perlman and Gunn, and the film will introduce audiences to a whole new side of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The all-star cast includes Chris Pratt as Peter Quill aka Star-Lord, Zoe Saldana as Gamora, Dave Bautista as Drax the Destroyer, Lee Pace as Ronan the Accuser, Michael Rooker as Yondu, Karen Gillan as Nebula, two-time Academy Award nominee Djimon Hounsou as Korath, Academy Award® winner Benicio del Toro as The Collector, Academy Award nominee John C. Reilly as Rhomann Dey, and six-time Academy Award nominee Glenn Close as Nova Prime, with Vin Diesal as Groot and Academy Award nominee Bradley Cooper as Rocket Raccoon. Marvel’s “Guardians of the Galaxy” is scheduled for release August 1, 2014!

Also, really excited for Cooper's Raccoon. My dream would have been Ray Winstone, but he is a huge get (along with Vin for Groot).
rockerdude22 - 12/7/2013, 9:50 AM

ezio619 - 12/7/2013, 9:59 AM
MRFRIDAY-guardians should not be the next star wars. it should be its own unique thing thats maybe equally as awesome as the original trilogy and maybe does for kids what those movies did for that generation
ALmazing - 12/7/2013, 10:01 AM
Guy from the city? Does that means he is voicing Rocket with his Chris Walken impersonation?

SpectacularJoShFest - 12/7/2013, 10:10 AM
Agreed, Rocket has to sound convincing, hopefully Cooper will do a fine job, but I'm really antsy to hear him talk and crack his puns and jokes.
GUNSMITH - 12/7/2013, 10:15 AM
THIS WILL BE GOOD...SERIOUSLY AS SOON AS THIS HITS WE'LL SEE SIMILAR "SPACE ADVENTURE" RAG TAG BAND FACING OFF AGAINST SOMETHING OR OTHER MARC MY WORDS...BRADLEY IS GREAT, WHAT SUCKS THOUGH IS THAT ONE MOVIE PARADISE LOST GOT CANCELLED IN FILMING CAUSE THE STUDIO THOUGHT IT WOULD BE TOO EXPENSIVE. WOULDA BEEN NICE TO SEE HIM PLAY LUCIFER..AN YOU HAD THE PERFECT DIRECTOR (PROYAS) DIRECTING IT...BUMMER
ezio619 - 12/7/2013, 10:17 AM
after what an "interesting" year this has been, i think 2014 might be that too especially when it comes to this films, hopefully its a good film and gets success
MsDarkPhoenix - 12/7/2013, 10:17 AM
Wasn't he dating Zoe Saldana some time ago?? Anyway, guess they stayed friends.

So let's talk about Vin. There hasn't been any confirmation that he is Groot. And even though there is a lot of evidence for this, I believe that they would have announced it if he was just Groot. So what are they hiding? Is he actually Thanos and they are trying to keep it secret by making us believe that he is Groot? Like Ben Kingsley, they said he was the Mandarin but he actually was Trevor!

I'm just so excited for this movie!
ezio619 - 12/7/2013, 10:18 AM
gunsmith-i was really looking forward to that film, sure alex proyas directed knowing which is bad, but he made, the crow ,dark cit and i actually like i robot

@ezio Okay, thanks for the explanation! I'm excited to hear what he sounds like!
KeefNCookies - 12/7/2013, 10:44 AM
A New York accent would be terrible. Why am I not surprised?
ezio619 - 12/7/2013, 10:58 AM
blackjack-yeah but they still can, he is not appearing onscreen so he could play another character plus they are not just using his voice, they are capturing his hands and face for motion capture, james gunn said that in ainterview
MrCBM56 - 12/7/2013, 11:06 AM
He's going to have the accent.
DefcoN - 12/7/2013, 11:10 AM
Maybe I'm asking to much, but I would really like a trailer before Christmas!
JonStarkgaryen - 12/7/2013, 11:22 AM
@NateGrey: He could sound like Helen Keller and it wouldn't matter. GOTG FTW!
Super12 - 12/7/2013, 11:23 AM
Starlord - just one of many of FBI agent Bert Macklin's undercover disguises...
Masterpace - 12/7/2013, 11:29 AM
I hope they won't ruin this movie with unnecessary humor as they do lately...it's enough to have Raccoon with machine gun to make people laught...you don't need jokes all the time in every serious scene.
lawndart - 12/7/2013, 11:30 AM
Guess it really depends on the city doesn't it? I'm just disappointed that there's no Bug. Holy "TIK" shrew.
Ramiel - 12/7/2013, 11:42 AM
Bert Macklin is going to be a huge superstar. He could end up Marvel's leading male after RDJ is gone.

@ BlackJack -

If they are marketing him as a big star of the film then its a good thing they didn't get just another voice actor no one knows. Otherwise they'd have a big missed marketing opportunity.

The truth is, this film has a real all star cast with Glenn Close, John C. Reilly, Benicio Del Toro and Djimon Hounsou have all been nominated for Academy Awards, plus you have Chris and Zoe. Having Cooper and Vin Diesel are just more betterness.
JoJo1982 - 12/7/2013, 12:44 PM
They should seriously move up the release date of the movie now, since after the huge lost of a cast member on the fast 7, now that movie is in hold and it's not coming out in July no more. GotG should go ahead and take that spot or atleast somewhere around July.
GrootTerMight - 12/7/2013, 12:48 PM
They need to keep the humor otherwise people of my age won't take to it (not that we're the target audience). It's great to do gritty, serious movies around non-powered heroes, but the second you make a man fly and shoot lasers out of his eyes or have a talking raccoon and tree, people of the older set aren't going to buy into it if it takes itself too seriously. They'll just view it as another Twilight.
spencemoney - 12/7/2013, 12:58 PM
If he doesn't burst in a room and say "Danny-boy, this is a showdown!" I will be incredibly disappointed.
