Over the weekend, HitFix was among outlets to sit down with Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues stars Will Ferrell, David Koechner, Steve Carell, and Paul Rudd. After being considered the Comedy Avengers, the quartet was asked to choose which character from the Marvel blockbuster would their Anchorman characters be. Rudd's response is probably most interesting as he's just entered talks to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Ant-Man, one of the founding members of The Avengers. Anyhow, check out the antic video below. And though Paul Rudd, a handful of other actors, and maybe its surefire news team brawl action are considerably its only connections to a comic book movie, Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues is now playing in theaters. What do you think?

I'm personally worried that if Rudd does get cast, he'll basically turn Ant-Man into another Iron Man. It's always been my concern. Edgar Wright, James Gunn and hell, even Kevin Smith all want their stars (Rudd, Pratt, Affleck) to be another RDJ.

rudd can do serious well
sanyaya - 12/18/2013, 10:42 PM
@Tyrus Kevin Smith huh?

Yeah, the dude was ranting a few months ago about how Affleck as Batman should/could be the next RDJ as Iron Man. He said the same about Ruffalo or Evans, too.

You guys realize he's already basically nabbed the role? The negotiation aspect is just them figuring out pay/number of films/etc. I'm so happy today.

Paul Rudd was always going to be an interesting choice. There will obviously be comedic moments but, with them describing it as a heist film. Well, that's the last I knew they were describing it, I think it would have that blend that Iron Man had of action and comedy. Not overly action-y but not overly comedic. Personally, my pick for the villain is Whirlwind. Cause seriously. M.O.D.O.K? Egghead? They suck! I believe Rudd will do a good job and I think that he does have dramatic chops, he just hasn't had the chance to show them off yet.
