So now we get to the final film of the trilogy, Revenge of the sith, which is undoubtedly the best of the three. However, it is vastly underrated. Its filled with some strong themes and well written moments that don't get enough credit. The angry fanboys who ranted over the previous two films glossed over this (in our humble opinion) excellent star wars film. This week we defended the Phantom Menace, couldn't bring ourselves to defend Attack of the Clones, and now we give you our defense of Episode three:

Better then the last 2 but I wouldn't exactly call it good either more just decent. The fight between Yoda and the Emperor was heartbreaking for fans of the original films. The Emperor looked down on lightsabers calling them a Jedi weapon. He was so powerful in the force that lightsaber was no more useful to him then a blaster. While Yoda was a wise spiritual user of the force much like a sage. He like the Emperor was so powerful in the force he did not need a lightsaber. Yet the movie has this dumb fight between the two in the senate that was cartoonish and almost ruins the characters much like midiclorians ruin the force if they were real. Yet we all know they aren't real and aren't canon because anyone with a brain can see how they completely ruin the force if they were real cough George Lucas cough.

In the end if you like the films you like the films. Don't care what I say because to those that like the films they are good. I have my personal opinion of the films and I don't want to come off as insulting to anyone who does like them.

The prequels are no more SW than either Ewok movie or the Holiday special was.

I agree. This is a really underrated movie and probably the best SW film since Empire Strikes Back. Palpatine is a great villain and Yoda was badass (except for the fight at the end). Anakin turning to the dark side in a desperate attempt to save Padme was believable and the turn to the dark side was pretty tragic and realistic. George Lucas and Hayden Christenson both learned from their past mistakes in AOTC and did a better job. I also agree that Ewan Mcgregor was the best of the new actors in this trilogy

Only problems was the ridiculous fight between Yoda and Palpatine at the end (Anakin vs Obi-wan was badass and would have been enough) and some cheesy dialogue( another happy landing, I have the high ground, hold me like you did on the lake of Naboo, NOOOOOO etc.). Also, some of the CGI looked fake (same problem EP2 had).

The butthurt is strong here. "I can't wait until a Star Wars thread pops up so I can take a shit on the prequels. Am I cool yet?"

I think it's a solid film. I loved it even though it has some horrible parts. The killing younglings was well done, and the lightsaber battles where out of this world. Wasn't as good as it could have been, but not a BAD movie

@PietroMaximoff ...You're not there yet, but you're off to a strong start. You know what? Screw it. I think you're cool. Full disclosure, I still wear Hypercolor shirts and Cross Color jeans, so I might not be the best judge.

I personally loved Episode 3, the other 2 are guilty pleasures I would say. Then you have the original 3. In my opinion this film s up there with the original trilogy
