One thousand years after cataclysmic events forced humanity's escape from Earth, Nova Prime has become mankind's new home. Legendary General Cypher Raige (Will Smith) returns from an extended tour of duty to his estranged family, ready to be a father to his 13-year-old son, Kitai (Jaden Smith). When an asteroid storm damages Cypher and Kitai's craft, they crash-land on a now unfamiliar and dangerous Earth. As his father lies dying in the cockpit, Kitai must trek across the hostile terrain to recover their rescue beacon. His whole life, Kitai has wanted nothing more than to be a soldier like his father. Today, he gets his chance.

It doesn't look good at all, and it's also a M.Night Shitaman movie. And is Will Smith attempting some sort of an accent? Because he sounds ridiculous!

What i sense? Nice ideas, but with a too much serious smith family, what's with USA??? why are them giggling so much for serious things?
Personally i would seen this with a Jurassic Park take, and not with a I Am Legend take...oh wait it had will smith in it too..are they trying to replicate the (in)success?
I like the idea of the earth evolving in mankilling ways, but i think it will turn just in a poor backstory, than a theme of the movie...

Looks pretty good. If only we got a better director. I see this being a good movie and ending badly because of M. Night.

ok ... i think this movie and Oblivion are based on same concept.... earth abandoned with no survivors ... and so on

I like Will Smith but can he please stop pushing his son on us. The kid can't act and this is an obvious vehicle to try an push him into the limelight. Karate kid sucked and so will this.

BattlinMurdock might be right. I thought it was really weird how Will Smith seems to get sucked to the other side of the ship which eventually breaks off as they arte crash landing. It highly plausible.

Looks interesting, but the visual effects are pretty bad. Hopefully this is not the final product.

This looks ok, people seem to have problems with M. Night Shyamalan but Unbreakable was good and the Sixth Sence as well. Will Smith sticking to what he's good at, end of mankind films, lets not forget he was awesome in Independance Day.

Maybe Shyamalan's learned his lesson. While he did rewrite the original script, he let someone else rewrite his script, which is what they filmed. So, this will be the first Shyamalan movie where he didn't actually write the shooting script. Maybe the script won't have the same mistakes as his most recent films.

There are two things that definitely make me not want to see this: the fact that M. Night Shamalan is directing it and that it seems like Jaden Smith will be the main character. Have seen all ofM. Nights films and his last ones have sucked so hard that it finally set in for me to wait for reviews to come in before seeing his crapfest. Jaden Smith is just horrible at acting, he at most should be a background character or have a few lines. The Karate Kid looked great and had a good story but the kid's acting was so bad that it made me root for the antagonists. The kid just annoys me and his acting doesn't deserve a solo film.
