What I Want To See In:Iron Man 3

What I want to see in the final installment of the Armored Avengers trilogy

Iron Man 3 has to really explore Iron Man alone; it should acknowledge the event of the Avengers and other Marvel films if possible, but mainly the Avengers.


It was announced that Shane Black would be writing and directing, now this is a new step and not just including his history of ‘R’ rated films, but he is great at making an action duo film, good at story and action also so I have much faith in Shane Black. Ware Machine should have more screen time then he did in Iron Man 2 since he and Tony both have armored suits they should work together exactly like they did in the comics, so in short I want to see more of this:


It was announced that Iron Man would battle real world terrorists, now that is okay but I would like to see some villains from the comics in the film, my top three villain choices for Iron Man 3 are The Mandarin, Titanium Man and Ezekiel Stane. Of course I want Justin Hammer to return and be in cahoots with the villain(s) of Iron Man 3 not just because it was set up that Justin Hammer would return when he said “I’ll be seeing you again, real soon!” but also because Justin and Tony’s long feud should not be ended just like that, Justin is a key player in the hired criminals sent in to kill Tony Stark.


I love how in Iron Man 1 we got the Mark I, II, and III. Then in Iron Man 2 he evolved the armor, we got the Mark IV, Mark V and Mark VI, so it seems like they introduce three new Iron Man suits every movie so out of them all the three suits I would love to see in Iron Man 3 are:

Bleeding Edge Armor


Hulkbuster Mark I


Stealth Armor Mark III


I would also like if new allies were introduced, but not heavily in the film but hinted at for future films, like Bethany Cabe would be fine in the whole film, but hints at Wonder Man, Sentry and Ms. Marvel would be great.


Happy Hogan should really evolve in this movie like in Iron Man 1 he was just there and in Iron Man 2 he got more screen time and it kind of seemed like they were hinting at a Happy and Pepper relationship in the making so I would like to see The Freak in Iron Man 3 and Happy’s passing, maybe trying to save Tony.


The Helicarrier and the S.H.I.E.L.D. Prisons should appear in Iron Man 3 also, I’m pretty sure the S.H.I.E.L.D. Prisons would appear in The Avengers 2, but aside from the Avengers cartoon the prisons haven’t been on TV or in movies and it would really open the gate for various villains.

Of course I would want all of the recurring characters to appear in Iron Man 3, Robert Downey Jr., Don Cheadle, Gwyneth Paltrow, Jon Favreau and Sam Rockwell definitely should return in this film.

Iron Man 3 will be released on May 3rd 2013

Come to think of it, I haven't seen any Rhodey pics in the Avengers

i don't really like this vision of Iron Man 3. i don't know why we need super hero prisons or other people dressed in armor. Titanium Man would be the worst possible thing i could imagine, i think, for Iron Man 3. the villains in the last two were already other guys in similar armor. and it doesn't help that Rhodey is in the same armor too. unless u actually develop a relationship between the two and show us why he is Tony's main man.

which is easier to do in years of comics than it is to do in a movie. but, regardless, they haven't done that at all yet, Tony Stark and James Rhodes make no sense in the last two Iron Man films. the first a little more than the second. but there's nothing there. War Machine, to me is only good in a film if he's either to fully represent the actual threat of the military/industrial complex on Tony's little Iron Man kingdom, or if he's there to take the place of Iron Man cuz Tony is incapacitated. Rhodey is the responsible one and he'll step up to whatever he has to do. he'll clean up the mess for Tony. if he has to. but Iron Man doesn't need a sidekick.

or definitely more villains in the same armor as him. jesus christ, that was already enough. i know it's a common theme in the comics too, but there were tons of great comics that he fought against people. without armor. gangsters, terrorists, wanna-be world dictators. it's true, Iron Man doesn't usually stop some jerk from robbing the liquor store, he's usually involved in something that spans the globe in some way. but it's never in any way always against other guys in robot suits. that's why i don't wanna see Fin Fang Foom, cuz already, they've shown that they'll turn him into a lizard in a robot suit.
if u can't do man size lizards that know magick, then it's better to just stick to terrorists or AIM or the US government. but please no more guys in Iron Man armor.

The Avengers is lucky it's coming out when it is, cuz if it was one year later, everyone would be sick to death of hearing anything to do with it. Avengers is gonna be rad, but what they want to do with Iron Man 3 and Thor 2 is separate it from that as much as possible. make those stand alone, great films, just to give everyone a break from it. So they shouldn't be tying in SHIELD too much. they should be there cuz they exist, but it should be a short movie that covers only about 3 days. something like Tony goes on a mission, it turns into more than he expected, he's somehow cut off from the world for a bit and has to deal with these villains and what they are up to. on his own. no relationship drama with Pepper Potts. in fact, it should be more like James Bond. Tony should be on the outs with her and running into hot women working for this organization or whoever. no character development or man in his bottle, no Marvel backstory for god's sake, just make a short, solid Iron Man flick that is funny and tight and kills it. i don't think this is gonna happen cuz already, i've heard things in interviews that make me think they feel like it's gotta be all cohesive thematically with larger forces. but that's what i imagine a great Iron Man franchise to be.

Bring Tony and Rhodes into a war zone so we can see them shred metal.

AIM would make a great antagonizing force.

Introducing alien technology could make for a very interesting story.

Tony struggling with advancing his tech to out do Mandarin's tech.

Bring on a new love interest and tech of alien origin!

Nice thoughts. Odd that you didn't mention Ghost since Bob Layton is pitching Ghost as the villan to Shane Black. The question at that point is whether Ghost is hired by Mandarin, Hammer, or is he going after Stark Tech for his own profit.

Armor should probably be kept to a minimum. IM1 had three suits that fit into the plot. IM2 had three suits to throw in three suits. They served very little purpose in the story progression. Hulk buster armor should only show up if he's going up against Hulk or something similar.

If they use Ghost they may be able to fit the stealth suit into the plot very nicely.

Wonder Man should be introduced only if they are planning on doing an Ultron Avengers Movie and shouldn't be touched until they decide to do that ark, and Ms. Marvel shouldn't be touched until they decide to start the ark leading up to the Kree Skrull war. Fortunately, these call all be done with the properties they currently own.

IM3, in my openion, should take a less is more approach to avoid making a mediocre film like IM2. At least RDJ admitted that IM2 wasn't the quality that it should have been and intends on making IM3 the best it can be. They should also Drop the 3. Numbered movies are a sign of a lack of plot and creativity.

my Iron Man 3 wishes:
Rhodey returns, along with his War Machine armor

Pepper gets hurt and becomes Rescue

Justin Hammer return, be in cahoots with Ezekiel Stane and Ghost.

Mandarin try to kill Tony, maybe kills Hammer and wounds Rhodey.

i think iron man 3 we'll see........

war machine again

mandarin would be amazing

but i think it may go down the armor wars road purely for the fact that at the start of iron man 2 we saw other countries devloping iron man armors.

Well from what Shane Black has said you aint going to get much of War Machine in IM 3.. he doesnt like how Rhodey having armour makes Iron Man look less unique.

Also very much doubt WM will appear in Avengers either... If however it is a big Alien invasion a quick cgi scene show WM machine leading a millitary attack from Edwards Air Force base would make some sense (or is that hoping too much)

Cool article, I'd love to see Happy die trying to help Tony. I think IM 2 gets a bad rap but a major problem with it was that Tony was never really in any danger (at least compared to pt 1).

So if some new villain comes in and almost kills Tony but kills Happy instead, that would be a great start.

What I hope to see Mandarin and maybe Ghost. That's probably whats gonna happen too. Then they should wrap it all up in iron man 4 with Ezekiel and crimson dynamo. Hammer could find crimson dynamo by somehow hearing he was related to anton with maybe an improved version of the whiplash suit. Oh yeah and Cillian Murphy as Ezekiel.

As much as I'd like to see AIM as a villain, its either Mandarin as villain or no deal.

Would want Mandarin and Titanium Man with Hammer in a small part.Please for the love of all that is holy no Avengers stuff that is what ruined the second film there was too much Avengers build up and not enough plot and character developement.

i just want mandarin. it would be stupid not to include him after all the setup and just reduce him to a terrorist organization. bring it full circle to IM1 with him leading the 10 rings and other villains against stark international.
