Miles Teller? Michael B Jordan? No thanks. Tired of the FF being crapped on? Hit the jump to see an alternative take on the cast, Marvel Studios style...

It's no secret the Josh Trank Fantastic Four cast is pretty much universally hated by everyone except industry suck ups. We're all hoping that MARVEL STUDIOS gets the rights back to its first family so justice can one day hopefully be done to The World's Greatest Comic Magazine.

But in the mean time, in an alternate reality, here is my cast for a new Fantastic Four film, please chime in with your thoughts below about who you'd cast and if you like it.

Billy Crudup as Reed Richards/Mister Fantastic

Billy Crudup can play older and smart, somewhat quiet and a natural leader. Has a gentle/meek yet strong quality about him.

Charlize Theron as Sue Storm/Richards/Invisible Woman

Charlize Theron can play smart and strong, lead character if necessary, has a mature gravitas about her.

Ryan Kwanten as Johnny Storm/The Human Torch

Ryan Kwanten can play brash, young, and cocky character with sense of humor, ladies man type, but also likeable, has a youthfulness about him.

Mark Wahlberg as Ben Grimm/The Thing

I'll be damned if Mark Wahlberg hasn't been playing the part of Ben Grimm all his life: he's a former gang member from the streets who's become world famous, he's made a career out of playing "tough guy with a heart of gold" types, plus he is handsome and physically attractive which of course adds to the tragedy of Ben Grimm/The Thing, and you know he could do the accent/voice.

Mads Mikkelsen as Victor Von Doom/Doctor Doom

Or Jason Isaacs (my first choice for Sinestro if Mark Strong never plays him again) as Victor Von Doom/Doctor Doom

Or Stephen Moyer as Victor Von Doom/Doctor Doom

ANY of the guys I listed as Dr Doom -

They all have a "sinister"ness about them, and that "you're not from around here, are ya, boy?" look about them that the ruler of Latveria should have. Also very commanding, charismatic, sexy, leading man qualities, Mads Mikkelsen, Jason Isaacs, and Stephen Moyer ALL steal the scenes in whatever project they're in.

Your turn, guys. I know MARVEL STUDIOS could make it happen and make it epic...and yes, I know we're only getting more than two Marvel character based movies this year because studios other than Marvel have rights to their characters, but I would rather have two quality Marvel films a year than a bunch of crappy ones, I'm patient, I'd rather wait a while to get a good movie than accept a bunch of crap because it's immediate.

Oh, and I'd have Michael Giacchino (Super 8) do the soundtrack (and I loved John Ottman's scores for the first two films, one of the highlights of the films for me, the awesome opening title sequence to the first film should have been left in the theatrical cut instead of being cut out (available in the extended edition for those curious)).

What do you think, guys? Who would you cast?

Billy Crudup was always the perfect choice for Reed Richards...I mean dammit his voice says it all!
MrSotoMan - 3/8/2014, 7:11 PM
What's funny is that one of these actors, DID turn down the role for the 2005 Fantastic Four movie.
Genaro - 3/8/2014, 7:25 PM
Nah seems very Random.
BritishMonkey - 3/8/2014, 7:29 PM
Better than what's going on at Fox.
NetmanTripleSec - 3/8/2014, 7:31 PM
Part of me could also see Matthew Goode as Mr Fantastic or Dr Doom, but I like Crudup as Reed better...
NetmanTripleSec - 3/8/2014, 7:32 PM
@Soto, yeah, I agree, Crudup has the right level of smart but leaderness that Reed would need, along with the maturity, and he looks the part pretty well, IMO!
Interestein - 3/8/2014, 8:23 PM
Unoriginal, but I like Crudup as Richards
HypeExMachina - 3/8/2014, 8:24 PM
"pretty much universally hated by everyone except industry suck ups." LMAO TheWrap's industry suck-up Jeff Sneider gave us that abomination! common sense says he made it all up, and it was never confirmed by the studio, so... there's hope. this cast epitomizes unoriginal fancasting, BUT at least it got some things right like hair & eye color. I give it 5-stars and I give the TheWraps reported crast 0-stars.
NetmanTripleSec - 3/8/2014, 8:35 PM
Well there's a ray of hope then with that little revelation hahaha....

Anyway what is so "unoriginal" about my cast? Is it because people have suggested these names a lot or is it because some of them are big names...? Or something else...

Also, David Arnold could do a great soundtrack for FF as well, IMO...
BatManHeisenberg - 3/8/2014, 8:49 PM
I like the fantastic four cast Fox has. I never was the biggest fan of FF anyway. So, honestly, I am fine with it. I don't care about race changes, and I don't care about the age changes, since they did so in Ultimate Fantastic Four. But good work, I guess.
NetmanTripleSec - 3/8/2014, 9:11 PM
Well if you like the cast FOX has you're probably not a big fan of the FF to begin with... so I guess that makes sense. Anyway thanks.
NetmanTripleSec - 3/8/2014, 9:16 PM
And there were no race changes to the FF in Ultimate Fantastic Four. The thing is (pardon the pun) if Johnny Storm ISN'T related to Sue and is Johnny whoever or Sue is Sue whoever, then what is stopping a man-whore like Johnny from bedding Sue? We know Ben wouldn't really do it because he's Reed's best friend and is more of a one woman show, but Johnny likes to fyck anything he can so if they're not related what prevents Johnny from trying to bang Sue?
BatManHeisenberg - 3/8/2014, 9:24 PM
Yeah, I am more of a DC fan myself. And who's to say Johnny and Sue WON'T be brother and sister? Adopted or blood, it is very possible. I am pretty positive they would just have a black mom and a white dad or visa versa.
thebug022 - 3/8/2014, 10:44 PM
Reed Richards... Matthew Goode

Sue Storm... Yvonne Stravinsky

Johnny Storm... Mike Vogel (but I do like the idea of Kwanten)

Ben Grimm... Michael Cudlitz

Victor Von Doom... Stephen Moyer has my vote. But now that you mention it, Mikkelson would be awesome! Much better as Doom than Strange. Isaacs is my pick for Ras al Ghul, but he'd be a good Victor as well.
NetmanTripleSec - 3/8/2014, 10:57 PM
I can totally dig Stephen Moyer as Doctor Doom. THAT would be awesome.
NetmanTripleSec - 3/8/2014, 10:58 PM
How do you guys feel about Kate Hudson as Invisible Woman? Not a solid, I'm just throwing it out there...
NetmanTripleSec - 3/8/2014, 11:01 PM
@thebug,

Not a bad cast, man. I like Mike Vogel (thought of him for Barry Allen/The Flash once...), only thing is he's older than the Sue actress by a good couple years and she also looks younger than him, and your Ben Grimm is much older than Reed Richards (and the rest of the cast), the oldest member of the FF should be Reed, then Ben, then Sue, then Johnny. Ideally the Johnny actor should be at least 3 or 4 years younger than Sue but he should look it most importantly.
Kurne - 3/8/2014, 11:48 PM
I REALLY want Ryan Kwanten in a CBM. I hate it when people call him an uninspired choice.
BatManiac - 3/8/2014, 11:55 PM
I like Fox's cast and the Ultimate Fanttastic Four. However, even if Marvel was making a movie about the 616 Fantastic Four, this fan casting screams of unoriginality.
NetmanTripleSec - 3/8/2014, 11:59 PM
@Batmaniac,

They all fit the characters damn near perfectly (and a hundred times better than FOX's new cast). What's wrong with that?

Must every cast be an "outside the box"? JK Simmons was perfect as J Jonah Jameson, and that was a natural casting...I don't need to see Jesse Eisenberg cast as J Jonah Jameson and win an oscar for it in order for it to be good casting that fits the characters or for me to enjoy it.
NetmanTripleSec - 3/9/2014, 12:09 AM
They also act like the characters, in fact they act like them much more so than the current cast from FOX (and probably any cast, or are at least equal to the Reed, Johnny, and Ben of the Story films).
BatManiac - 3/9/2014, 12:11 AM
I'm sorry, but the only thing this fan cast has going for it is Charlize Theron. I actually prefer Fox's cast to this fan cast.
BatManiac - 3/9/2014, 12:15 AM
They're actors. It's their job to become other characters, not be themselves.
NetmanTripleSec - 3/9/2014, 12:21 AM
Billy Crudup -

Can play older and smart, somewhat quiet and a natural leader. Has a gentle/meek yet strong quality about him.

Mark Wahlberg -

I'll be damned if he hasn't been playing the part of Ben Grimm all his life: he's a former gang member from the streets who's become world famous, he's made a career out of playing "tough guy with a heart of gold" types, plus he is handsome and physically attractive which of course adds to the tragedy of Ben Grimm/The Thing, and you know he could do the accent/voice.

Charlize Theron -

Can play smart and strong, lead character if necessary, has a mature gravitas about her.

Ryan Kwanten -

Can play brash, young, and cocky character with sense of humor, ladies man type, but also likeable, has a youthfulness about him.

Also very commanding, charismatic, sexy, leading man qualities, Mads Mikkelsen, Jason Isaacs, and Stephen Moyer ALL steal the scenes in whatever thing they're in.

I don't see any problem with any of this cast.
NetmanTripleSec - 3/9/2014, 12:21 AM
Every character an actor plays is a part of themselves, it's just one of the truths of acting. What Johnny Depp can do Brad Pitt can't do and vice versa. They're terrific actors who could play the parts with relative ease.

FOX's cast has an uphill battle and is nothing like ANY of the comics. You must not be much of a fan of ANY version of the FF if you are in love with Trank's casting...
NetmanTripleSec - 3/9/2014, 12:22 AM
With the new FF cast, sans Kate Mara as Invisible Woman, it's like they went out of their way to cast as oppositely the characters as they could. Like they didn't even try with the casting or tried very hard to NOT get it right...either way is bad news if you're an FF fan...
NetmanTripleSec - 3/9/2014, 12:25 AM
But then again, you're probably cool with Mark Zuckerbeg-Lex Luthor, so your opinion on casting and love for Josh Trank's cast doesn't have much merit with me.
BatManiac - 3/9/2014, 12:25 AM
I'm a fan of the Ultimate Fantastic Four, and as it stands, Trank's cast is great for that version of the Fantastic Four. However, since you have the audacity to say I'm not a fan because I don't agree with your opinion, I have no sympathy for he fact you're not getting the Fantastic Four movie you want.
Shroombeast - 3/9/2014, 12:26 AM
Now that's a damn good fan-cast! A damned shame that this isn't being made by Marvel Studios right now with that cast, instead of the upcoming Fox abomination.
NetmanTripleSec - 3/9/2014, 12:28 AM
@Batmaniac,

Except Trank's cast looks nothing like Ultimate Fantastic Four, either. LOL.
BatManiac - 3/9/2014, 12:34 AM
Miles Teller looks just like Ultimate Reed Richards. I guess if you had read the Ultimate Fantastsic Four comics, you'd be aware of this.
BatManiac - 3/9/2014, 12:37 AM
DreadlockedPoseidon - 3/9/2014, 12:46 AM
A couple down the road from me have one black kid, one white kid, parents are one black one white. Colour doesn't define Torch, we live in 2014 so get over yourselves...it happens. Aside from that I quite like your fan-cast, I just don't have a problem with Fox's cast...not that it matters, Fox consistently make awful comic book movies.
NetmanTripleSec - 3/9/2014, 1:05 AM
@Batmaniac

Ha, I have and yeah....don't see it.

And incidentally, Michael B Jordan looks NOTHING like Ultimate Human Torch:

...Yeah, Michael B Jordan and Kate Mara look like they could have the same biological mom and dad, don't they?

(^ The "real" Michael Jordan for good measure... ;) )

They have a better chance of getting powers from cosmic rays than they do of actually being biologically related LMFAO...

Yeah, it's "2014", but logic and common sense still counts just as much today as it ever did and ever will.
NetmanTripleSec - 3/9/2014, 1:14 AM
You can have one black parent and one white parent but no way in hell do you get a woman who looks bitch white with blonde hair and blue eyes and a guy who looks black black from the same parents, they'll always look more ambiguous and rightfully so....if they're going to do that they should at least not insult the audience's intelligence and cast people that look like they could be even somewhat the least bit related (same or similar looking race for starters...duuuh...)...

Michael B Jordan's bilogical sister being Kate Mara reminds me of the mother/father/family from Date Movie:

...here was the mother and father, in true Josh Trank like fashion, btw:

^^ They were this girl's:

...parents.

At least that was a comedy and we could have an honest laugh off it....hey....maybe the new Trank FF is a comedy and we just don't know it yet, hmmm....you know how much Josh Trank loves to deny "rumors" that later turn out to be true...
SpiderFraud - 3/9/2014, 1:29 AM
All I care about is talent and the FF cast is pretty good in that category. It's the script that is gonna matter at the end of it all. Nice casting choices BTW.
TheRealistStarLord - 3/9/2014, 3:15 AM
I did like Charlize Theron as Sue Storm cuz she is old. I despise Ryan Kwanten as Johnny Storm, cuz he is freaking annoying. Billy Crudrup is merely perfect as Reed Richards, so I am alright with him.

TheRealistStarLord - 3/9/2014, 3:16 AM
I sense Tucks is jealous of this article.
NetmanTripleSec - 3/9/2014, 3:19 AM
I can also see Mark Wahlberg as a pilot pretty easily....maybe the fact that he's also played one has something to do with it...
sameoldthing - 3/9/2014, 3:44 AM
Not into the Fox cast at all, these picks are better but really only like Ryan & Mads in those roles.
