'The Rock' Looking at Both Captain Marvel AND Captain America

Dwayne Johnson wouldn't mind playing both iconic characters.
In an interview with Moviefone, Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson expressed interest in playing the lead roles of both DC's Shazam! and Marvel's The First Avenger: Captain America.

"I would love to, of course," Johnson said at Saturday's 'Planet 51' premiere in California.

"Especially 'Shazam,' Black Adam -- we have talked about that for such a long time," Johnson said. "I am not quite too sure what is happening with that right now. I am still always excited about that. As far as for 'Captain America,' sure, absolutely. If it's entertaining for the audiences, yeah."

He went on, "I was never big into comic books when I was a kid, but I do like comic book movies. I like the way they have gone. The adaptations are generally pretty cool."

MPP - I'm not a big fan of Dwayne's acting so far. I think he has a penchant for comedic roles but that's about it. I would definitely throw a hissy-fit is he gets cast as Captain America. What do you all think?

Oh God. Give me a break.
TheBat - 11/16/2009, 12:23 PM
the rock can be captain marvel, not captain america, captian america has to be big, blonde, and white, sorry im not racist im goin by source material.
cbsmitty2 - 11/16/2009, 12:25 PM
He's fine for Captain Marvel or Black Adam, more so for BA, but hell no to him as Captain America. He's a horrible fit for the role.
InTylerWeTrust82 - 11/16/2009, 12:29 PM
Hey maybe The Rock can try some of that stuff Sammy Sosa's is on and pull this off.
chochi73 - 11/16/2009, 12:31 PM
If he plays Captain America I will never see another marvel movie again. So I guess I'm saying no to the Cap role and yes to anything else he might want to destroy.
Kratos6 - 11/16/2009, 12:32 PM
I think Will Smith should play Captain America!!! LOL
Phinehas - 11/16/2009, 12:32 PM
there's just no god. I can see that now lol

Yeah I agree with Tyler

DarthMulder - 11/16/2009, 12:35 PM
He could be Isaiah Bradley, but not Steve Rogers. They should touch on that at the beginning of the movie, maybe have a younger Nick Fury as part of the original failed project. They could say Fury's aging was slowed, but he didn't gain any of the enhanced abilities. That would give him the connection to Captain America for the Avengers movie.
kenny38606 - 11/16/2009, 12:37 PM
I think Johnson would pull off Black Adam wonderfully even though he's half-black and half-Samoan.

J/K I'm just rubbing the whiners.
Phinehas - 11/16/2009, 12:37 PM
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO TO BOTH PARTS!!!

He's BLACK ADAM!!!

And what actor don't want CAPTAIN AMERICA or CAPTAIN MARVEL, they all want 'em!! ; D

LEEE777 - 11/16/2009, 12:38 PM
He was damn funny back when he was a wrestler and he isnt a terrible actor but if he's cast as Captain America I'll burn down Marvel Studios!!! That would be a worse casting choice than...Jason Lewis, lol! ;D
JoshW - 11/16/2009, 12:41 PM
See my end comment made in the post for the inaccurate costumes...
Banner123 - 11/16/2009, 12:41 PM
hes just saying it would be cool. as lee777 says who wouldnt say it would be cool. no one is asking him and it would never happen. so everyone calm down. jeezz.
superdog - 11/16/2009, 12:42 PM
I think that any character the Rock plays would make it look campy.
AlexDeLarge - 11/16/2009, 12:43 PM
DwayneTHEROCKJohnson is a ledgend! but he is not right for either role!
BigNick - 11/16/2009, 12:44 PM
I think he's a pretty good actor, but he's not Cap material.
InTylerWeTrust82 - 11/16/2009, 12:45 PM
First off, I'm black and no cbsmitty2 just because you think Capt. should remain blonde and white does not imply you're a racist. I think Captain America should remain traditional as well. Number one, it's the 1940's and America was a different animal then. I really can't see a black man being accepted as Captain America in that time period by soldiers. Secondly, the military was still segregated until 1948, so unless Captain America is leading a troop of Buffalo soldiers, it won't be believable.

stopdropandroll - 11/16/2009, 12:48 PM
I wouldn't make him a sandwich, no less Captain America. He's an okay actor, but leave him outta comic book movies. By his own admission he never read comics. Now, while this doesn't necessarily bar you from CBM roles, I feel that when you grow up on comics, they tend to hold a special place in your heart and you feel the need to do them justice, not just be in a cool movie and grab a paycheck. It makes you want to perform better because you know if you do a good job, you don't just get the accolades from the general movie-going audience, but you will have won the admiration and gratitude of the millions of comic readers who are counting on you to not utterly destroy their favorite heroes.

@cbsmitty2
By your analogy, he can't be Captain Marvel either.
gtrman - 11/16/2009, 12:49 PM
As far a Black Adam, he would be perfect.
stopdropandroll - 11/16/2009, 12:51 PM
he would be great for black adam. Who ever they pick for Captain Americ is gonna be someone who LOOKS the part
BlackAirs87 - 11/16/2009, 12:54 PM
Black Adam
superheromoviefan - 11/16/2009, 12:54 PM
I think that he is O.K. for Capitan Marvel, if a little too old to play the part. Capitan Ahab, though, he'd be a total miscast. Since they were pretty rasist back then they'd NEVER have picked him as a super soldier, even for an experiment IMHO.
necrosage2005 - 11/16/2009, 12:58 PM
Absolutely not !

I like the Rock, fine actor, great pro-wrestler.

This new movie he has where he plays an ice-hockey player turned tooth fairy has me scratching my head.

If that story is being made into a movie, I KNKOW someone on this site has the creativity to write a movie script.

SkunkApe1 - 11/16/2009, 12:58 PM
BlackAirs87: I agree..which is why Jensen Ackles should be cast as Captain America! :)

cap
JoshW - 11/16/2009, 12:59 PM
Chris Meloni has the look and is a bit better actor than The Rock
mix
gtrman - 11/16/2009, 1:00 PM
I think the rock could make a good Falcon, or if he could pass off being intelligent, articulate, and serious (not to speak poorly of the man I've just never seen him in those types of roles) A great black Panther
hgmE - 11/16/2009, 1:03 PM
@joshw24@ yeah..jensen ackles for captain america!!!! :oD

never watched wrestling and i havent seen many of his movies but i dont think marvel would consider casting him as cap!! i guess hed make an ok black adam tho (cool pictures btw @leee777@)
FAD - 11/16/2009, 1:07 PM
Now THAT'S what i'm talking about!!! Dwayne Johnson for BOTH Captain Marvel AND Black Adam!!!

Shazam's franchise needs The Rock and let's face it, The Rock needs this gig as well LOL. It's a WIN/WIN situation to a less expensive quality family CBM!!!

But Jensen Ackles is CAPTAIN AMERICA!!!

Shaman - 11/16/2009, 1:08 PM
awesome @shaman@!!!!!! :o)
FAD - 11/16/2009, 1:09 PM
its funny people getting upset for him just saying "As far as for 'Captain America,' sure, absolutely. If it's entertaining for the audiences, yeah."

remember he did not mention Steve Roger do people know there is a black Captain America Isaiah Bradley.

The Rock would be good for Captain Marvel or Black Adam but its all talk right now since Shazam been in development hell for along time.
jazzman - 11/16/2009, 1:14 PM
No you're awesome, FAD LOL :P My sketches are toilet paper next to you!!!

I'M NOT WORTHY, I'M NOT WORTHY!!! *bows profusely to the the goddess which is FAD as if worshipping the Sun itself* XP
Shaman - 11/16/2009, 1:16 PM
I really don't mind the idea of the Rock as both Black Adam and Captain Marvel. The characters look entirely different and act entirely different.
InTylerWeTrust82 - 11/16/2009, 1:19 PM
IF U SMEEEEELLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL

thats all i gotta say on the matter
Rolanddeschain19 - 11/16/2009, 1:19 PM
I remember actor Neal McDonough even mention he would like to play Captian America in two interviews

jazzman - 11/16/2009, 1:19 PM
hey if Will Smith can go from comedy relief to serious actor than what makes you think Dwayne Johnson can't evolution into that next stage
VitaminTim33 - 11/16/2009, 1:20 PM
Will Smith for Superman! Yeah!
Phinehas - 11/16/2009, 1:24 PM
FAD & Shaman: Hell yeah, Ackles for Cap!!! :)
JoshW - 11/16/2009, 1:26 PM
VitaminTim33- I've never been able to take Will Smith seriously in any performance he's made. I really do prefer him in mildly comedic action roles. As for The Rock, he's never been that funny and was believebly serious in Rundown and Walking Tall. That's good enough for me for him to be CM and BA. As for Isaiah Bradley, That's Terry Crews' job ;P
Shaman - 11/16/2009, 1:26 PM
It's funny how people say hell no to the Rock wanting to play Cap A. I like him and enjoyed a few of his movies, but it's not like Marvel would make the mistake of putting him in the Steve Rogers Cap role. Hell, I want to play Cap and I'm balding and semi-overweight, but I would still love to do it. Just because he says he wants to do it doesn't mean you should bash him for it. Heck, even Beyonce wanted to play Wonder Woman, but that ain't happening. Doesn't mean I'm gonna say she's an idiot for wanting to. As for what Jazzman said, I think he'd make a great Isaiah Bradley. Anyone doubts how badass the Rock can be, watch "The Rundown." Movie was good, but woulda been great without Sean Willian Scott. Black Adam for sure.
Tobuttica - 11/16/2009, 1:27 PM
@Phinehas

i rather Denzel Washington instead of Will Smith. his getting to much credit for major Hollywood movies.
jazzman - 11/16/2009, 1:28 PM
(C)Ackles is a HORRIBLE actor! He has the acting range of a younger Dennis Hopper, that is to say, a block of wood.
necrosage2005 - 11/16/2009, 1:33 PM
Sure! And Cyborg could be played by Ed Norton or Owen Wilson!!! This is getting kinda fun (And ridiculous).
Phinehas - 11/16/2009, 1:35 PM
If you smell....nothing wrong in him wanting to play Cap, its not like he is gonna get the part. I like Dwayne. He is a pretty decent actor and if given the chance he could probably do a very good job at a role with depth. Heck...for a wrestler turned actor, he is a better actor than some of the dumdums we have in hollywood. Count me in for any movie Staring the Rock!
MsKyle08 - 11/16/2009, 1:36 PM
Jensen Ackles is a TERRIFIC actor and also the best choice for Steve Rogers/Captain America!!!
Shaman - 11/16/2009, 1:41 PM
Is there anybody apart from Jensen who could possibly play the role? Inquiring minds want to know.
MsKyle08 - 11/16/2009, 1:42 PM
@Phinehas

i like Ed Norton dont like Owen Wilson. plus i finished about the race debate Phinehas. i know you trying to make joke about The Rock want to play Captain America but he did not say anything about Steve Roger Captain America. there is a black Captain America Isaiah Bradley.

my earlier reply about Will Smith is not cause of him been casted as Superman. i just hating that everyone always mention Will Smith all the time. their is more black actors out there instead of Will Smith.
jazzman - 11/16/2009, 1:47 PM
You know, we did have a black cat woman. It was a terrible film but I'm just sayin' race isn't that big a deal for anyone anymore is seems. If The Rock can pull of being the embodiment of the American spirit, he can have my $8.50 at the theater.

OOH! Black Kingpin! just remembered!
hgmE - 11/16/2009, 1:49 PM
jazzman...lol...Will Smith is the go-to black guy for every black role. A lot of AA actors/actresses are definitely underrepresented. I still haven't seen Pursuit of Happyness cos i just don't buy will smith in that role and he looks nothing like the Gardner dude. I need more variety.
MsKyle08 - 11/16/2009, 1:50 PM
Another reason why the black cat woman sucked is because of Halle Berry (and the script itself). Lets face it, she is a horrible actor. Nice to look at but seriously lacking in talent. I still cant get over how horrible that movie is. Ughh!
MsKyle08 - 11/16/2009, 1:52 PM
Shaman, no he isn't. Why do you like him so much? What have you seen him in that you like him in?Everything that I've seen him do he has the same role. No range. He can't inspire anything in me other than wanting to throw up knowing that I wasted a new mortgage on a movie ticket.

MsKyle08, ANYBODY could do better... even Brandon Routh!
necrosage2005 - 11/16/2009, 1:53 PM
I say Ryan Reynolds for every superhero... yeah.
MrDCGuy23 - 11/16/2009, 1:53 PM
When you talk about Captain America, do people that know him think of Bradley, or Rogers?
Phinehas - 11/16/2009, 1:53 PM
Brad Pitt MUST play Black Panther! YES!

@ Karl Urban for Falcon!

Amy Adams for Storm, and we definitely HAVE to get Chris Pine to play Jim Rhodes! Next Iron Man!

Isn't this a fun game?
DarthMulder - 11/16/2009, 1:54 PM
ahahahahahahaha..
InFamouslyCool - 11/16/2009, 1:55 PM
I agree with everything you say MsKyle!!! And as for your question, IMO if Jensen didn't exist and age wasn't a factor, i'd go for Aaron Eckhart for Cap. Jensen Ackles is just as perfect as it gets for CAP though. There were other forgettable but decent mentions ;)
Shaman - 11/16/2009, 1:57 PM
lol @ necro...Brandon Routh was aesthetically superman and nothing else. Hollywood needs to stop casting based on looks alone. Thor better not suck! And im so sick and tired of always having these young teeny bopper actors playing every role. Like who da hell casts Kate Bosworth as Lois Lane? Seriously?
Phinehas has a point. If a Cap movie is gonna be made its not gonna be based on Bradley. Hell i know little to nothing bout him and im very sure a majority of the population is in the same boat.
MsKyle08 - 11/16/2009, 1:58 PM
is star wars out on dvd yet?
MsKyle08 - 11/16/2009, 2:02 PM
For the record I have nothing against Johnson. If anything I wish his story and the fact that he has reall really grown as an actor should inspire people to quit picking on wrestlers that want to get into acting.

If someone is in a position to try acting as a profession (like a wrestler) they should go for it I think.

DarthMulder - 11/16/2009, 2:05 PM
Darth Mulder, Its the bestest ever!!! hahaha
Phinehas - 11/16/2009, 2:05 PM
You know some of you are kidding, but it's not as if Hollywood couldn't make it work. Like Urban as Falcon, Pine's as Jim Rhodes or Ed Norton as Cyborg. Most people don't read comic books and have no idea who's black or white. As comic fans we know of course.

And when it comes to secondary characters, sure you can change them up. There's no reason why any of those mentioned secondary heroes can't be of another race. Nick Fury was accepted as both David Hasselhoff and Samual Jackson. Yes, Hasselhoff's movie was cheesey, but it was fun.
stopdropandroll - 11/16/2009, 2:05 PM
necrosage2005- Jensen Ackles often outshined Jeffrey Dean Morgan which is a brilliant actor so yes he does have range. His character on Supernatural has plenty of layers and he was also very good in Dark Angel. He outshined Jessica Alba with ease. I really don't see how you don't see any range or depth to his acting, maybe because you only saw him a few times in Smallville which sucks ass or his horror film which i didn't care to see. Other than that his talent has not only been outstanding on Supernatural but also constant through out 5 seasons. Aside from his own talent, his very character of Dean Winchester is the living embodiement of Steve Rogers with a bit of a cocky sense of humour. I honestly can't see what more Cap fans would need.

Jensen Ackles is PERFECT for Captain America!!!
Shaman - 11/16/2009, 2:06 PM
Zac Effron for Capitan Ahab!
Zac Effron Pictures, Images and Photos HAHAHA! If not him how about David Henrie?
david henrie Pictures, Images and Photos

Who is this "Bradley" character. I've never heard of him. When was he Ahab?
necrosage2005 - 11/16/2009, 2:06 PM
@MsKyle08

Pursuit of Happyness is actually good. your right Will Smith is the go-to black guy for every role. but its getting abit too much to be honest.

@Phinehas

When you talk about Nick Fury do people that know him think of white Nick Fury or black Nick Fury?

when i watched Iron Man in the cinema with my friends and we saw Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury my friends asked why Nick Fury is black and i told them in Ultimate Marvel Universe Nick Fury is black and his based on Samuel L. Jackson. they did not complain about it they was fine with it.

so if Captain America end up been Isaiah Bradley you just have to tell your friends or other people that in Marvel Universe there is a black Captain America named Isaiah Bradley. if they dont believe you then just tell them to just google Isaiah Bradley.

jazzman - 11/16/2009, 2:07 PM
True about SLJ and Nick Fury. But how many comics of Bradley and Fury are there? I willing to lay down money on the fact that more people know a black fury over a black Cappy just on comic sales alone.
Phinehas - 11/16/2009, 2:11 PM
lol @ MsKyle. :)
DarthMulder - 11/16/2009, 2:11 PM
BLack Adam for sure...loving his name and the race debate.

On a more serious note certain iconic characters should maintain their ethnicity i'd go for Terry Crews orsomeone similar for Bradley as long as its not Will "Hancock" Smith or Michael " Balrog, Manute, Kingpin" Clarke Duncan.

The Rock could be great with the right director, if Randy Orton could act he'd be the perfect dick villain in my opinion
breakUbatman - 11/16/2009, 2:13 PM
Jazzman...ok...not to get all black/white here(might be too late). this is Captain America. You know his history. A LOT OF PEOPLE WILL NOT BE TOO EXCITED ABOUT A BLACK MAN PLAYING THE CAP. We are simply not that post-racial just yet. lol. It sucks but it is what is is in amerryca.
MsKyle08 - 11/16/2009, 2:13 PM
Shaman, in both Dark Angel and Supernatural he played the exact same role! The good looking pissed off guy that saves the day due to his kick ass fighting ability. Morgan was not needed in the show at all, and I stopped watching when they found him. (C)Ackles wasn't needed in Dark Angel. HE helped to bring the show down, the dogman was also a help, too. Shitville I just can't stand because the show just blows, but even you, a (C)Ackles FAN didn't want to see him in a movie. Why should we see him in a CBM?
necrosage2005 - 11/16/2009, 2:14 PM

ok Dwayne Johnson has the physical part for Cap. I maen he at least 225-230lbs I know he dosen't have blond hair or blue eyes but hes got the physical part down and it's hard to find an actor whoses got that for Cap. but if you want to be really anal Batman has jet black hair and blue eyes last time I checked Christian Bale don't have either and I think Johnson would be great for both Captain Marvel AND Black Adam
kyle12688 - 11/16/2009, 2:17 PM
@breakUbatman

What are you talking about, orton acts every week on that male soap opera called WWE

on a side note though, I just want the rock to stop with this disney comedy bullsh*t, and go back to movies like walking tall and the rundown.
supermarioworldE - 11/16/2009, 2:17 PM
I personally would love to see The Rock in tights.*dreamer*
MsKyle08 - 11/16/2009, 2:19 PM
HEAR HEAR @mario. Disney is the tool of the devil.
MsKyle08 - 11/16/2009, 2:21 PM
Ms.Kyle, I don't think that is the issue whatsoever. The truth is, Cap has been portrayed in a certain way, by a certain people group for over 60 years. Deviating to far from that model racially is an assault on the senses. Furthermore, it begs the question, "why do you HAVE TO change it?" What is the motivation?
If it is that African American culture hasn't been fairly represented in CBMs, need I remind those people that Blade was perhaps one of the first successful CBMs to date? And rated "R" for that matter! There is no need to change the race of any character for a film. That was a debate I inadvertantly started on the villian costume thread. It spilt onto this board and I'm sorry (boy, am I sorry...). But I won't be talked down by anyone because I hold this opinion.
Phinehas - 11/16/2009, 2:22 PM
oh so this is not a random thing? y'all have been arguing bout this? lol
MsKyle08 - 11/16/2009, 2:25 PM
Jazzman and SHHH have taken great offense to a remark I made about the error of making Kingpin black in DD.

whats a SHHH?
MsKyle08 - 11/16/2009, 2:31 PM
a fellow poster..lol
DarthMulder - 11/16/2009, 2:32 PM

MsKyle08 - 11/16/2009, 2:35 PM
@Phinehas

im not even sure cause alot of people i came across did not know there is a black nick fury and im just talking about people who dont follow comic books history and characters. but in this case more people will know black nick fury over a black captain america just by comic book sales by comic book fans.

im not saying i dont want to see Captain America to be played by a white actor. im just saying for The Rock to play Captain America he should play Isaiah Bradley. but in this case The Rock have no way in hell to be casted as Captain America. most likely Marvel going to look for a major leading actor to play Cap.

but for him playing Captain Marvel or Black Adam im up for it only depending if the screen writter is good and director.

@MsKyle08

i know what you mean same thing over here in the UK lol.

the only problem right now with Captain America is will the world watch this movie since some people might have a problem of a all-American superhero name Captain America.

jazzman - 11/16/2009, 2:37 PM
I've been wondering the same thing! But some guy who feels traumatized by any mention of race.
Phinehas - 11/16/2009, 2:37 PM
For me it's not about looks/race for most CBM Casting. ESPECIALLY Captain America. Steve Rodgers is Bald eagle, eating apple pie, wrapped in an American flag, punching Hitler in the face american. If ANY actor can come off THAT patriotic (and not have some weird midwestern/southern accent) I will gladly go see that movie. It could be any actor as long as I can buy him wearing the stars and stripes.

Although now that we're talking about casting wrestlers I vote for John Cena as Steve Rodgers.
hgmE - 11/16/2009, 2:37 PM
Also, Paramount wanted Will Smith to play Superman. Thankfully enough, he had the good sense to say "but.. I'm black..."

Interchanging race is like saying race doesn't matter. It downplays the importance of our heritage. I'm Irish, I could not be played in a film by a Mexican!!! Race (not good or bad) is part of who we (and the characters) are. To change that is to change the story. STOP IT!!!!

MsKyle08 - 11/16/2009, 2:41 PM
I think Johnson is all wrong for Bradley if we're going to fancast. If Jackson proves to have any chops in A Team, THAT would be my first suggestion.

@ms kyle

I hear that! y'know that a studio is evil, when it turns the rock into a tooth fairy!
supermarioworldE - 11/16/2009, 2:43 PM
@Phinehas

"Jazzman and SHHH have taken great offense to a remark I made about the error of making Kingpin black in DD."

dude the reason why we was offense is because the thread was about supervillain costume nothing to do with a character race. if the thread was about race of comic book character then i wont complain so much plus i gave you evidence why Kingpin was played by a black actor.
jazzman - 11/16/2009, 2:43 PM
I'm not even sure he's good for Black Adam. I agree with gtrman.
Betty - 11/16/2009, 2:44 PM
It has nothing to do with racism. I have never read whatever publication featured a black Captain America, but that doesn't matter. I will say that again for clarification: the fact that one some offshoot side reality other dimension ultimatizaed version of Marvel comics, there was a black Cap does not mean didley squat to me

I am entirely positive that the movie they are going to make is about Steve Rogers, not Isaiah Bradley.

And IMO they should try to find an actor that resembles the character they are playing.
Is that a racist statement?
Was Marvel being racist when they made Captain America a white guy? I don't think so, but there's no way for me or any of us to know that. Hell it was 30 years before I was born.
It's not that we aren't "post - race" enough. It's that certian people are TOO ETHNOCENTRIC. Who is the one that is obsessing about race around here?

If they cast a white guy as Black Panther I would perosnally competely freak out! it's not because I hate white people. It's because it's just wrong.

DarthMulder - 11/16/2009, 2:44 PM
WHY have we got TACKLES as CAPTAIN AMERICA in a SHAZAM article??????

I can pick TEN ACtors much better than him!!!

He's the perfect HAWKEYE!!! Oh and NO to the ROCK as SHAZAM he is only BLACK ADAM!!! ; D

LEEE777 - 11/16/2009, 2:46 PM
@batfan - I agree and disagree. Agree with you that if you're irish and I'm casting you in a movie about you wherein being irish is important to your character, then I'd have to cast an Irish man (or scottish we here in the states don't really know (or care about) the difference.

I disagree though because let's say the movie is about your purchase of a new car and then losing your job. If I were casting you for that part I'd probably cast the actor who can best portray you. Since this story isn't affected by your race then the actor's race doesn't matter. Besides only batfan39 nerds are going to care what color you are in the movie about you (hollywood logic, see what I did there?).
hgmE - 11/16/2009, 2:47 PM
I would love to see Sam Worthington as Captain America. what do you all think of this casting idea? he would be the perfect choice.
1chris2 - 11/16/2009, 2:48 PM
NOW!! If they did make a movie about Isaiah Bradley they shout aptly cast a black dude for the part. See what I mean?
DarthMulder - 11/16/2009, 2:48 PM
Yeah, it would suck if he was cast for Captain America but Black Adam would be okay, well, as long as he doesn't screw it up, I think Jensen Ackles should be Cap, he's awesome in Supernatural, or even Hawkeye.
WEAPON420 - 11/16/2009, 2:48 PM
What is really up with the black panther movie? :(
MsKyle08 - 11/16/2009, 2:49 PM
1chris2 @ Um your new right lol????

LEEE777 - 11/16/2009, 2:52 PM
oh yeah...after seeing an extended trailer for Avatar this past weekend, i take it back. I'm definitely gonna see it.
MsKyle08 - 11/16/2009, 2:52 PM
how the hell Paramount wanted Will Smith to play Superman. Paramount dont own Superman Warner Bros does.

jazzman - 11/16/2009, 2:53 PM
I think its floating in some nether-region with Shazam.

I am sooooo done with the race thing(for now! ;)). I had no idea that that one little stone would create such an avalanche. I saw its relevance. Said it. Defended it. Here we are.

Flippin weird.
Phinehas - 11/16/2009, 2:54 PM
err...Phinehas...race will always be a hot button issue. :)
MsKyle08 - 11/16/2009, 2:54 PM
It's LONG BLOODY OVERDUE! That's what's up. I'm tired of waiting... I never hear a thing about it except that dude from Lost said he wanted to be in it
DarthMulder - 11/16/2009, 2:55 PM
I do love staring at Dwayne Johnson. I would watch wrestling just to watch The Rock. However, the man does not have a good range of acting. If his role isn't reminiscent of The Rock, then he can't do it.
gorgeousgeeks - 11/16/2009, 2:55 PM
jazzman, I was going to tackle that one. But I'm tired now. lol
Phinehas - 11/16/2009, 2:55 PM

Check out KINGDOM COME in FAN FIC >>>>>>>>>>>

; D
LEEE777 - 11/16/2009, 2:56 PM
That is false Gorgeous Geeks.
MsKyle08 - 11/16/2009, 2:56 PM
captian marvel and it dnt matter if he never read a comicbook howmany actor never read a comic and are chosen to be in a comic book movie?
flames809 - 11/16/2009, 2:57 PM
Batfan - Nice point... it would be like Alexander the great being portraid by an Asian person it just doesn't fit... It would be fun though .. ;-)

Either way The rock should be Black Adam he has the look and the physic... Plus i think he is a pretty good actor ...

Also very true Disney is the devil
thegreek - 11/16/2009, 2:57 PM
Patrick Wharburton looks like my dad. He is too old. Its like Laurence Fishburne in the matrix...so stiff. Prolly cos he is OLD!
MsKyle08 - 11/16/2009, 2:58 PM
Long time reader first time poster. The Rock? No thanks. But why I'm really posting is because I'm sick of the "Jensen Ackles" for cap thoughts. Sure he may "look" the part, but C'mon He's a WB HACK! Sam Worthington would be a much better choice. But honestly if I had to choose between the rock and Jensen, I'd pick the Rock hahahahaha. He would make a good shazam though.
Kebe - 11/16/2009, 2:58 PM
@msKyle - all to true.

Still John Cena as Steve Rodgers. He's got the build and that "I love America so much my blood is little American flags" attitude.
hgmE - 11/16/2009, 2:58 PM
If Wb knew what they were doing they would get off their asses and make Captain Marvel already!

They could be wise and cast Johnson as both Captain Marvel and Black Adam. the characters are visually similar, except for Adam's ears and the Spockbrow. with a little makeup Johnson would be perfect for both

@LEEE. For the last time SAM WORTHINGTON IS WRONG FOR CAPTAIN AMERICA! If you give it to an Aussie at least give it to one with some actual talent and a voice. Worthington has that whispery voice. You can't see Ackles ordering Iron Man and Thor around. Well i can't see whispery Worthingotn doing it. You say Acklesis too yiung ot be up there with Downey, well Chris Hemsworth is pretty damn young too.
THEHAWK - 11/16/2009, 2:58 PM
No offense to THE ROCK but no way should be do either. im good with jensen ackles doing CA or another actor but not for the lead as CM but no on either for the rock doing either. to me CM is more of a kids movie rather than a blockbuster movie so he could play the villian in CM but not for the lead.
brianj22 - 11/16/2009, 3:06 PM
Sam Worthington as Captain America could work but i swear if he start switching to his Australian accent playing Cap will be annoying.

@MsKyle08

black panther movie is still in development hell i remember Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje was intrested to play the character.
jazzman - 11/16/2009, 3:08 PM
YEAH but John Cena will kill the movie and not in a good way.
MsKyle08 - 11/16/2009, 3:08 PM
Yeah..no to Sam for the role. There is such a thing as over-exposure. Ask Beyonce.

MsKyle08 - 11/16/2009, 3:11 PM
HAWK @ ; D

LEEE777 - 11/16/2009, 3:11 PM
Lee: I thought you wanted Lewi-oh no, you want Worthington. Wait, I thought you wanted Leo-no, now you want Weatherly. But didn't you like Sears-hold up, who DO you want?! You switch more between Cap choices than Whispery Worthington does between accents! And I'm not even trying to make a joke or anything!
InTylerWeTrust82 - 11/16/2009, 3:24 PM

REDSKULL @ Lmao GEEZER!!! ; D
LEEE777 - 11/16/2009, 3:28 PM
Lee..No Problem Bro!!! You Rock even though...I do not have a clue about some of your casting idea's!!!

RedSkullGeezer - 11/16/2009, 3:30 PM
TYLER @ ; )

RED SKULL @ Heh heh, good stuff bro, funny as [frick] dude!!

: D
LEEE777 - 11/16/2009, 3:37 PM
what about Matt Damon as Cap
jazzman - 11/16/2009, 3:43 PM
Damon is too old I'm afraid. If it was during the Bourne days (around 2004) he would have been awesome.

Lee: That one manip of Cap next to Leo in the second pic looks horrible. It looks like a 6 year old dressed in his 3 year old sister's Cap shirt.
InTylerWeTrust82 - 11/16/2009, 3:46 PM
LEE: Those choices are awful and make me want Jensen Ackles for Captain America even more!!! ;)

ackles2
JoshW - 11/16/2009, 4:07 PM
TYLER @ Lol!

LEEE777 - 11/16/2009, 4:07 PM
JOSH @ Stop fingering ackles arse!! : D

Theres a million better choices for him as CAP!!

He's the perfect HAWKEYE!!

LEEE777 - 11/16/2009, 4:08 PM
ackles

Though, Patrick Wilson is also better than Lewis, Worthington or DiCaprio! ;D

CAP!

Guys, dont forget to check out my Spider-Man: Sinister Six Fan Cast!!! :)
JoshW - 11/16/2009, 4:11 PM
i want Jason Lewis as Cap ... well thinkin about that, i think Sam Worrington or wateva his name is could play a decent Cap A, the rock should be Black Adam. he looks right for the character.
Misterfan - 11/16/2009, 4:12 PM

PATRICK WILSON is ANT-MAN!! Horrible CAP! Lmao. : D

LEEE777 - 11/16/2009, 4:15 PM
Misterfan: You want either a guy off an Aero advert or an Australian to play Cap...clearly like LEE you have no taste, lol! ;)

LEE: Your fingers are up so many actors asses im surprised you have a hand free to type with! :D
JoshW - 11/16/2009, 4:16 PM
Vandervoort's nose bother's me. But that's about it.
Phinehas - 11/16/2009, 4:16 PM
MisterFan @ You da man!!!
LEEE777 - 11/16/2009, 4:16 PM
captain marvel-YES!

captain america-HELL NO!
CorndogBurglar - 11/16/2009, 4:17 PM
No JOSH You have no taste!!! ; D

Oh and perfect ANT-MAN =

PATRICK WILSON!
LEEE777 - 11/16/2009, 4:18 PM
LEE: Hehe, thats not what you say on all of the fan casts I do! ;)
JoshW - 11/16/2009, 4:19 PM
JOSH @ Im on about all your AVENGERS and CAPTAIN AMERICA ones with tackle boy lol! ; )
LEEE777 - 11/16/2009, 4:22 PM
MisterFan: Have you even seen Lewis act? It's dreadful!

All he's got is the look, his acting is terrible.

Worthington isn't that good of an actor, looks nothing like Cap at all, has a totally wrong voice, and is Australian! This is Captain AMERICA we're talking about!

Chris Pine for Hawkeye
InTylerWeTrust82 - 11/16/2009, 4:23 PM
LEE:

Jason Lewis: Looks like a serial killer, has a chin like an ass and his biggest acting role so far was in an Aero advert.

Sam Worthington: An average actor who can barely keep an American accent for more than a few seconds at a time.

Leonardo Dicaprio: Too old for a soldier in his twenties and doesnt have a commanding voice.

Teddy Sears: Who!?!

;D
JoshW - 11/16/2009, 4:24 PM

Nope TYLER sorry lol!!
LEEE777 - 11/16/2009, 4:26 PM
Sorry @ JOSH

JENSEN ACKLES IS HAWKEYE!!! ; )
LEEE777 - 11/16/2009, 4:28 PM
You've never actually given a reason as to why Pine shouldn't be Hawkeye. How about, I don't know, some reasoning? It's not a bad idea to back up your opinions from time to time you know...

InTylerWeTrust82 - 11/16/2009, 4:31 PM
TYLER @ CAPTAIN KIRK and the new JACK RYAN??? LMFAO!!!! : D

LEEE777 - 11/16/2009, 4:32 PM
