Stan Lee - “I set almost all my superhero stories in New York because that's where I lived and I was comfortable having incidents occur in places I knew, No Gotham City or Metropolis for me!”
With so many movies on the agenda for Marvel and so little for DC, obviously there are a lot of questionable factors which come into play on which movies come first and which movies fall into development hell for a while.
By the time director Steven Spielberg walks the red carpet on Dec. 11 for the New York premiere of his animated movie The Adventures of Tintin, the film about a boy reporter in search of sunken treasure will already have sold well over $200 million in tickets—all far from the U.S.
The Marvel vs. DC dogfight has raged since the beginning of comic book time. DC is older, taking its name from 1937’s Detective Comics. In June 1938, the company released what would become the most valuable comic ever: Action Comics #1, introducing a fella from Krypton called Superman.
This article is not about race or creed, it's about superheroes that need the same treatment as any other being made into a movie. It’s been almost eight years since Blade: Trinity hit theaters, and Wesley Snipes is famously indisposed at the moment.
A ring of 11 Russian moles right out of a Cold War spy novel was smashed last year [June 28, 2010] — and among those busted was a flame-haired, 007-worthy beauty who flitted from high-profile parties to top-secret meetings around Manhattan.
Casting Russell Crowe as Superman’s natural father in Snyder’s remake Man Of Steel is a stroke of genius. Crowe is this generations Marlon Brando and he has the presence to be Superman’s biological father Jor-el. This may be old news to some but I could not help but to post this again if it was not already.
Liam Hemsworth ("The Hunger Games," "The Last Song") has joined the cast of "The Expendables 2" for Lionsgate says The Sydney Morning Herald. New cast members include Hemsworth as well as Jean-Claude Van Damme and Chuck Norris.
After the death of Peter Parker in the Ultimate Comics Universe, many fans were outraged and anxious to see how Brian Michael Bendis would resurrect the popular franchise. Enter Miles Morales, a Brookyln teenager of African American and Latino decent. After being released on September 14, Ultimate Comics Spider-Man #1 went on to break digital sales records for the publisher.
Catsuits seem to be all the rage with females in big screen superhero films.
So, with the recent reveal of Anne Hathaway's catsuit for "The Dark Knight Rises," how does Scarlett Johansson's Black Widow catsuit compare in the upcoming "Avengers" movie? Which actress will win the battle of the beautiful?
The trailer for the Bollywood movie “RA One” is “insane” looking, I’m frankly not sure if that means it looks really, really good or if it’s got train wreck written all over it...
Next year we will see Mark Ruffalo in action as The Incredible Hulk in The Avengers movie next year 2012 and Henry Cavill as The Man of Steel the following year 2013.I am talking a battle that could potentially leave our planet in pieces, collateral damage like we’ve never beheld. The Big Green Monster up against The Man Of Steel... HULK VS SUPERMAN!!!
Not only are they almost equals at strength and abilities....But they both have a strong chance of becoming a Major Motion Picture.....Very soon. Which one of these Atlanteans would you like to see on the silver screen and why is one character more deserving than the other....or should we say...which one could work better on screen?
It is time for another Mighty Marvel Mashup because there has been so much cool Marvel Stuff this summer that we can't wait for Captain America to throw that shield of his across the silver screen for us to see....until now.
Have you ever wondered what it would be like to get crushed by tens of thousands of people? Then you may want to walk (or attempt to walk) the Exhibitors’ Hall at Comic-Con.
Not only will we get the chance to see most of MARVELS Cosmic heroes...but we just may get the chance to see NOVA blaze across the silver screen as well. MARVEL will want to work on their own version of a so called Star Wars with Super Heroes movie to put Green Lantern to rest after the smoke clears this summer.
“Green Lantern” is Warner Bros.’ first real attempt to capitalize on the vast DC library of characters. And a lot is riding on this one: If “Green Lantern” becomes DC’s version of “Iron Man” — a lesser known character who becomes a box office superstar — you can expect to see Flash, Wonder Woman, Aquaman and the Justice League given the big screen fast track. It’s a heavy burden for one set of abs to bear.
It has been argued for decades now.....about which comics is better. Both Marvel and DC have characters that everyone has heard of. For DC they are Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman. For Marvel they are the X-Men, Spider-Man, Iron Man, and The Incredible Hulk. In the mainstream you could say Marvel wins out though. They have had more success over all in the area of blockbuster movies.
Captain America was empowered by an experimental super-soldier serum during World War II, which transformed frail Steve Rogers into the exemplar of human physical perfection and the Sentinel of Liberty. He is currently the Top Cop of America and leads the Avengers team. Captain America movie will be the Saving Private Ryan of Comic Book Movies!!
Frankly, I'm surprised to be the first one to talk about Ultraman. This metro Japan action show never talked down to its young audience, and I'm sure a key reason is that Peter Fernandez -- the genius behind the English-ization of Speed Racer -- also was responsible for Ultraman. Always suspenseful and damaging, it's unfortunate Ultraman hasn't found a new audience. They need only put it on the air! Oh -- who was Ultraman? Basically, this military fellow was able to become the Intergalactic superhero when necessary in order to fight enormous monsters that threatened earth.
