Reports of Rachel McAdams or Romola Garai playing the Marvel villain Black Cat have turned out to be untrue for the next Spider-man movie.
Rachel McAdams (Red Eye) was said to have met with producers for Spider-Man 4 a role rumored to be Felicia Hardy, Black Cat, but the actress has confirmed alas it's not true.
McAdams told Hollywood Insider: "That's a total rumour, I have to say.
"I was in Toronto the other day and someone came up to me and said, 'I just heard you're doing Spider-Man 4.' And I said, 'Really? No one told me!' It's not true."
Sony Pictures representative added: "It's an internet rumour, as so many things are these days."
Also Black cat news is, there is no Black Cat news. Actress Romola Garai, has not been cast as Black Cat either. She was mentioned in her column in The Observer that she was auditioning for Spider-Man 4.
She then explained that she was one of dozens of actresses who had attended auditions for the Spider-man movie and no role was specified.
This is what she told Digital Spy: "I had no idea that with Spider-Man 4 being such a big film... that people would pick up on it. I was a bit taken aback. The point I was making is, 'I'm not going to get this [role]!'"
Many thanks from the guys at The Geek Files for the heads up.
