I didn't like The Avengers

I am not hating!

I was not looking forward to the avengers. I do not know why. I was not pumped. I did not anticipate it. I was excited for Iron man, Hulk, Thor and Captain america to come out but was never excited for The Avengers. I even talked to my friends like, "Yeah, I am going to jump on the bandwagon on this one. I am going to go see The Avengers and maybe I will like it." But I didn't. I skipped a day of school and saw it on Opening day with my older brother. When I walked out I was like... Did I just see the phantom menace. And don't bullshit me! Don't tell me that when Iron Man took the nuke through the portal, and all the chituri shutting down did not ring a bell. Plus Thor conveniently popping up on Earth. Last time I checked the bifrost rainbow bridge thingy was destroyed by Thor and only Loki knew how to travel between worlds without it. And the scientist conveniently finding out a way to close the portal... whatever man. I also thought that the final battle felt a little transformers 3 too me, "seen it."

I didn't hate everything though. I thought that the helicarrier battle was cool, but that was really the only thing I liked.

At first I was like, "If everyone else likes this movie accept me, what is wrong? Did I miss something? Did something go over my head?" But now I am actually glad to have such an unpopular opinion without being a hater.I don't know why I bring this up now, but I felt I should.

For discussion value please post your thoughts of the avengers. Did you like it did you hate it? What was your favorite avengers lineup movie?

comic from a pre release avengers hater, a nolanite, and a DC fanboy, you must be crazy because this is one of the most fun films i have ever seen, and it was mind blowingly good, it came out of left field for me, and i had to swallow my pride, I loved the Avengers, my girlfriend loved the Avengers, My friends loved the Avengers, My mom loved the Avengers, it was a spectacular film and in the words of TJ "if you don't enjoy this film, you are a shitty person"
marvel72 - 6/10/2012, 5:38 PM
fair enough,i enjoyed it thats all that matters.

best comic book movie ever!

@TheAmazingHipsterMan I agree with you! EVERYONE LOVED IT! EVEN PEOPLE IN MY CLASS WHO DON'T EVEN LIKE TO TALK ABOUT SUPERHEROES LOVED THIS MOVIE! ODIN USED UP ALMOST ALL OF HIS POWER TO SEND THOR BACK TO EARTH! AND THE LAST BATTLE WAS NOT EVEN CLOSE TO TF3'S ENDING EXCEPT FOR THE FACT THAT ALIENS ATTACKED A MAJOR CITY! And I don't remember a portal in the phantom menace. Just sayin'.

The quip you have about Thor's appearance is explained IN THE MOVIE. I suggest watching it again if your Nolanite side doesn't hold you back.

Iron Man's nuke->shutting down the Chitauri isn't at all similar to The Phantom Menace. This happens in multiple formats of science fictions, so your point is still kinda moot.

"I was not looking forward to the avengers... not excited for it..."

Call me crazy, but if I'm not looking forward to something I do not participate. I do not spend my money on purchasing an entrance to said event. I do not wait in line or sit for two hours watching something I never looked forward to seeing.

And, I certainly do not do all those previous things, despite the fact 'I never really was excited' and then take the time to log on to a website, maneuver its sitemap, and go out of my way to post an editorial detailing how I watched something, spent money on something, and didn't care for something that I never even cared about in the first place.

I love how he says he's not hating lol.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion but I have to say that for me personally, I loved it. The whole film felt like a comic book that popped directly off the pages and onto the silver screen. Was it perfect? Absolutely not but I enjoyed every second of it and that's all that matters to me. I don't know what type of movie you were expecting to see but you went to see The Avengers and the film portrayed them almost perfectly. It was definitely my favorite CBM of all time. Maybe you're just too much of a "critic"?

Don't feel bad. I caught a crap load of backlash when I seen The Dark Knight and went MEH. Everyone else loved it. And even the people who hated it seen it in theaters. I caught a lot of flack for saying the only good thing about the movie was Heath Ledger. But that is how I felt and with each subsequent viewing I feel that even stronger. So good for you to express your opinion while expecting the backlash that may come with it. Pretty brave thing to do.

I LOVED the Avengers hella good movie... but still second place for me:)
MrSuperheromoviefan - 6/11/2012, 2:32 AM
I disagree with you, but everyone has an opinion. But the comments are right down stupid, they just hate because of the different opinion, dumass.

"If everyone else likes this movie accept me, what is wrong?" - You cannot be entertained. I am going to guess you have never read a comic book.

"Did I miss something?" - Yes.

"Did something go over my head?" - Yes.

"But now I am actually glad to have such an unpopular opinion without being a hater." - Huh? Psychopath much?

"I don't know why I bring this up now, but I felt I should." - No idea why you did either.

what did you think of the character interactions? flaws aside, i enjoyed the movie most when people were talking.

does it have the depth of similar films? no, but thats ok. was i having fun? you bet.

i didn't see this review as you being a hater, but sir it seems you barely touched the surface of your complaints. i read the first paragraph and scrolled down to see the dang thing end lol

as for the comics, i was totally a west cost avengers fan lol so to see a live action hawkeye (underused or not) was a real treat for me.
justified1 - 6/11/2012, 8:16 AM
Your not a hater. I thought this was an average movie, a high average mind you, and i think the second will be better.

deadpoolbeatsall - 6/11/2012, 3:41 PM
You probably didn't notice any of this until the HISHE video came out.
Crossbones - 6/11/2012, 3:51 PM
I agree with CPBuff on TDK part. As far as you not liking The Avengers, the final battle felt nothing like TF3 and I respect your opinion but I still think your NUTS. lol
BooYah - 6/12/2012, 10:37 AM
When you name an article "I didn't like the Avengers" it makes you sound desperate for attention. No body cares, this article isn't a review so what is this?
sonofsamadams - 6/12/2012, 5:29 PM
Hahahahhahahahahahhahahahahahhahahahahahha

Wow,and they say Nolanites are bad.
Matador - 6/13/2012, 9:10 AM
You must be a teeny bopper that wants some type of attention to even have written something as unimportant as to your opinion of something you weren't interested to begin with. That's why I was uninterested in your opinionated blog that I did not take my time to read but you intro alone was enough take my time to post my opinionated comment.

Though I was more intrigued by other people's comments.

If the Helicarrier battle was the only thing you liked, then why was the biggest problem that you focused on something as small as the similarity of this movie's ending to The Phantom Menace's ending. If you really only liked one scene in the entire movie, then I would assume you would have bigger problems to state than that of the used resolution. Could you not get into the comedic approach of the movie? Did you think the assembling of The Avengers was too cliche or slow paced? Was the threat not satisfying for you? Surely, you had bigger problems with the movie. After all, you only liked one scene in the movie. Either A) You truthfully disliked the movie, but you just aren't good at writing down your thoughts, or B) You liked the movie. Regardless, you wrote down a negative review to be different, and you didn't use enough brain power to write this review without holes appearing. Which is it?

@deadpoolbeatsall: I was thinking the exact same thing, but I wasn't going to say anything. All the negative points in this review were covered by that video.
