Rob Corddry is perhaps not the first person you think of when conjuring a shortlist for comic book villains, but this particular fiend is his dream role.

“I want to play the bad guy in Ant-Man. The bad guy in Ant-Man. Tell the world!”

This confession was given in an interview with Comic Book Resources so he may have just been playing to the audience, but despite his eagerness to face off against the Marvel Universe’s tiniest hero, the casting news hasn't come yet. But who knows. If they are going to play up the comedy, it might not be a bad choice. Corddry has distinguished himself in similar genres and could definitely play it straight if need be.

2+ years out and word is getting around. Nice. Ant-Man will have some decent, I gotta go there, buzz by the time it comes out.
DudeGuyMan - 9/4/2013, 8:29 PM
What is he willing to do for a part?

EdgyOutsider - 9/4/2013, 8:32 PM
I wouldn't mind this. I'm sure he has some dramatic chops. Please don't be Egghead though lol
Praetorian - 9/4/2013, 8:39 PM
Give him a part, just have him be a dickhead SHIELD agent
Praetorian - 9/4/2013, 8:40 PM
Like how Coulson was a liaison for Thor and Iron Man
OldBenKenobi - 9/4/2013, 8:43 PM
Lmao I can't tell if he's serious or not. Either way I'd still watch it!

Would love to see him play Deadpool instead.

Egghead could work. So could Whirlwind, Radioactive Man or MODOK.
BrotherStarkofMABMindz - 9/4/2013, 8:56 PM
He is hilarious, funniest in Hot Tub Time Machine. Sign him up Marvel

Giznad - 9/4/2013, 9:05 PM
I love that man.

He is actually a really nice guy in person. He is a great and funny actor, hopefully they will find a role for him.
Demongod20 - 9/4/2013, 9:13 PM
I've enjoyed Rob Corddry since he was on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart.

Hm... Dude is cool but I hope he's not implying that he'd want a comedic, hammed-up role. We're waaaay beyond that. The last CBM that didn't take itself seriously as a movie as was apologist and corny because it was a "Comic Book Movie" was Green Lantern and look how well that movie did.
MCUfan1 - 9/4/2013, 9:31 PM
I want to know who will they pick to play ant-man.
ralfinader - 9/4/2013, 9:32 PM
I want Rob Corddry to be in Ant-Man. Make it happen.
jimoakley666 - 9/4/2013, 9:39 PM
I like Corddry in that he's not a comedian, but a pretty good actor who can play comedic roles. He was very good in the recent Warm Bodies.

I never really got the Harold & Kumar films. They're very typical American comedies in that a lot of 'stuff' happens, but none of it is particularly funny.

surprised no one said it, so in the name of eventual unnecessary NERD RAGE:

xXkryptoniteXx - 9/4/2013, 9:47 PM
He wants the money and all the glory that comic book movies grab these days.
SnapperCarr - 9/4/2013, 9:53 PM
@jimoakley666 Well its a funny stoner comedy that also pokes a lot of fun at racial stereotypes as well. And it stars the race that most people least expect to be stoners: Asian (Korean and Indian).

As an Indian guy, I think its pretty funny.
Hellboy6666 - 9/4/2013, 10:10 PM
Haven't they found their ant man? The fella from life of pie..pai...pi...I'm too lazy to look it up
Hellboy6666 - 9/4/2013, 10:13 PM
Also, no. Rob, your funny but most people who are campaigning for roles never get them. Pretend you don't care, introduce yourself to Edgar and smoke a bowl with him and then say, "dude, I could totally be the villain in your movie" Then offer him a cornetto and a cigarette and it's yours.
elib - 9/4/2013, 10:20 PM
This dude is awesome. Put him in any role
SnapperCarr - 9/4/2013, 10:25 PM
Meanwhile with Loki...
