I didn't like it. Doesn't make sense to kill of characters in a universe that isn't going to be rebooted for a very long time.

So wait.......people were pissed that Marvel never kills the characters, then when they finally stay dead........you complain? Makes perfect sense! [frick] me!

I really wanted Thor to be killed by Ultron to show how powerful he could be.. Even though we know Thor has another movie coming his death could've led right into Ragnarok with that movie starting out with him being in Hel..

Seems like he was the only person to die in the movie.

Minimal civilian casualties, made it seem Ultron wasn't as big of a threat.

Quicksilver should've lived.

@asgardianhobo Welcome to the internet, where previous arguments are eschewed whenever we don't much like the outcome and logic never really exists.

He has to come back he was great!

I definitely would've preferred he killed off a character who actually did earn a touching death. We barely knew anything about Quicksilver. He had no existing relationship with anyone on the team. Whedon made him a throwaway, which sucks because the little bit of screen time he had was superior to DoFP "Peter". That's just my humble opinion.

he had his shine right b4 he died. Lame!!
hufflepuff69 - 5/5/2015, 3:18 PM
They shouldve just killed Hawkeye
IvanSQ17 - 5/5/2015, 3:27 PM
It was a good decision... though I would've really liked to see more of him

He needed to die. Otherwise, Scarlet Witch could easily have come to be seen merely as an appendage to him. As just part of "the Maximoff twins." With him dying, she will have a much greater chance to develop as a character and hero. And it will make her character arc more interesting. I had originally hoped that if anyone died it would be Hawkeye (he just seemed useless to me), but giving him a family instead was definitely the way to go. It humanized the whole team, and showed what they fight for.

On a side note-I hear that some (feminists in particular) are complaining about the Black Widow "graduation" ceremony. That frankly hit me really hard too. I hate to think that she can't have kids. But storywise, it makes perfect sense. Let there be no doubt, forcing female assassins to be sterilized is exactly something that the Soviet Union would have done (yes all you left-wing progressive types, there is a reason Pres. Reagan referred to the Soviets as the "Evil Empire." And yes Communists are exactly that evil. If you don't believe me, ask the millions of families in China that are only allowed one child. Or ask those in Cuba who frequently get the sh** beat out of them for criticizing the Castros, if not actually killed.) And no, it doesn't make her a monster that she agreed to it. She was raised to think that way, basically brainwashed. The fact that she resisted even slightly (her dream showed her trying to fail her final "exam" on purpose to avoid graduation) shows how strong her character would eventually become, which is proven by the fact that she did stop being a killer for the Soviets. (Plus, if she had refused the procedure, my guess is that she would've been executed.) So people should seriously shut up about that.

It made sense on a lot of levels: 1) competing with Fox on the rights to that character, 2) motivation for Wanda, 3) SOMEONE had to die and we couldn't really let anyone else go at this point. And I think Whedon's dialogue at that point was just right.
