An unknown artist, dubbed the Banksy of Bulgaria, has defaced statues of Red Army soldiers located in Sofia, Bulgaria into popular fictional characters, including Superman.

Centre stage in the transformed monument in Sofia is Superman. To his left is Santa Claus and to his right McDonald's mascot Ronald McDonald. Batman villain the Joker also makes an appearance.
The monument the artist defaced was imposed on Sofia in 1954 to celebrate the tenth anniversary of Russia's liberation of Bulgaria during the Second World War.

Monuments to Russia's dominance over Bulgaria are fair game to graffiti artists these days.

Looks like Capt. America is in there too with Robin. Can't quite tell who the ones behind Joker and Santa are. The one in blue and yellow gives off an X-Man vibe. The yellow guy's stance screams Flash. Is that a yellow tiarra on the one bringing up the rear?

This probably would be disrespectful if it weren't a defaced monument to aggressive Soviet expansionism. The fact that it's been done up with Superman and Captain America is meant to be a slap in the face to the filthy pinkos who tried to make the world communist. Good on 'em I say. Some people are so dumb.
