Wow, I guess it was silly to expect readers of this site to appreciate something connected to comics. It's all good, go back to bitching about casting announcements.
Shroombeast
Shroombeast - 10/18/2014, 4:15 AM
People have been reading way to much into that ever since that movie was released. He doesn't mean mutants or magic or any of that shit specifically, he just meant miracles.
batz11
batz11 - 10/18/2014, 4:17 AM
Maybe? Interesting...
AwesomePromoz
AwesomePromoz - 10/18/2014, 4:17 AM
Thanks @Shroombeast, still fun to speculate though! I wondered if I had stumbled upon an obscure easter egg! So you don't think the term "Miracles" will be reincorporated in future MCU material?
NovaCorpsFan
NovaCorpsFan - 10/18/2014, 4:24 AM
@TheFamousJMC
It's not about the comic relation... I just genuinely have no idea what you're trying to get across here. They mentioned miracles in a Scarlet Witch & Vision comic so that's the source of the term Age of Miracles? Is that it? If so, that's hardly even news.
AwesomePromoz
AwesomePromoz - 10/18/2014, 4:31 AM
Ok it's not news, it's an easter egg.
Zeek
Zeek - 10/18/2014, 4:41 AM
Maybe if it said "age of miracles" I'd say it was connected.

DID SOMEONE SAY EASTER EGGS?!?

No?
Anyone?
Anyone at all..?.....

Okay, fine *sighs*

Yeah, this is just one instance of a character using a rather common-place noun to refer to something. No one has an issue with a good discussion about the films and their sources, but the connection you have pulled out is tenuous at best.

Don't see you much around the comments section; if you really want a good discussion, don't hesitate to talk over the dick measuring juveniles that populate this place.
AwesomePromoz
AwesomePromoz - 10/18/2014, 4:43 AM
So the filmmakers can't expand on a reference and still be connected? They have to repeat it verbatim?
AwesomePromoz

@loki668 Bahahaha good one!
nikgrid
nikgrid - 10/18/2014, 4:54 AM
First of all you're copying everybody in the world who refer to babies as a miracle. people say that all the time, is not that unique of a thing to say.

;)

Has the term "superheroes" been used in the MCU?
I think using some kind of term/word for "powered" individuals should be used.
Obviously not mutants.

I believe on the Flash tv show didn't they use "Meta-humans"..?
Can't quite recall. Wonder in the DC films will they use that term.
AwesomePromoz
AwesomePromoz - 10/18/2014, 4:58 AM
They also used "meta-human" to refer to some powered characters like Carl Creel in Agents of SHIELD. I wondered if they'd infringed on a DC trademark?

I like discussion and speculation but I don't see this being connected. Sorry. I get you were probably pretty excited to post this but you gotta be open to people disagreeing with you. You might be right, I'm open to that. But by the same logic, it could be a reference to Miracle Man.
AwesomePromoz
AwesomePromoz - 10/18/2014, 6:07 AM
Miracle Man is not in the Marvel 616 Universe.
Zeek

Show me a published comment from Marvel staff, comics or film, that Miracle Man will imminently appear in a film.
kong
kong - 10/18/2014, 6:11 AM
Why did people think so much in to this. Just because he said that doesn't mean they'll be called miracles.
Zeek
Zeek - 10/18/2014, 6:15 AM
I can't, just like you can't show me anything published that says the stinger references a couple of obscure panels from almost 30 years ago.

This is speculation, you're acting as though I'm trashing an established fact. You have to be open to people disagreeing with you. This is not much of a connection.
AwesomePromoz
AwesomePromoz - 10/18/2014, 6:17 AM
@RedNTheHood it may be a passing reference indeed, but don't you agree that the after-credit scenes are usually intended to prompt speculation? Obviously schwarma didn't mean anything, but wouldn't you say there was lots in the scene after Thor TDW with Collector and Sif? And then there are all the easter eggs contained in the Collector's gallery like Adam Warlock's cocoon and stuff. It could be true that there's nothing important to be learned from the "miracles" reference, but for me, speculating is part of the fun..... and to see Wanda and Doc Strange in a scene in the comics, and then have Strange refer to his affinity for "miracles" with special quotation marks -- I thought it was worth sharing, and I'd love to see more of any kind of easter egg pop up on this site.

@Zeek I'm open to disagreement, and I in return want to argue my own point, for fun! It's Saturday here, and I'm waiting for the Crystal Palace v Chelsea match to start, with Banana Bread in the oven, and I want to chat about comic book movies. Cool?

I just don't understand why Marvel would go through the trouble of referencing an insignificant quote from an insignificant comic that 99.999% of viewers won't pick up. Maybe a couple of borrowed lines from Civil War in Captain America 3 is likely, in fact I'd actually think that would be a cool idea, but this is such a small little detail here, especially when "miracle" is an actual word that doesn't require a lengthy explanation.
OrgasmicPotatoe
OrgasmicPotatoe - 10/18/2014, 9:56 AM
When Strucker said "This is the AGE OF..." and he took a small pause before saying "miracles", for half a second I thought "Age of Ultron ? NO WAY !?"

Oh, miracles. Yeah, that's good too.
AwesomePromoz
AwesomePromoz - 10/18/2014, 10:57 AM
Holy @OrgasmicPotatoe that's true! What if he'd burst into a rendition of Age of Aquarius!
OrgasmicPotatoe
OrgasmicPotatoe - 10/18/2014, 11:51 AM
@TheFamousJMC Nothing against that, but i'm thinking more of a cover of "Age" of Seventeen, complete with a strong German accent, a blonde wig and dance moves ala Mick Jagger.

Damn, seeing the fan reaction to the IM3 twist, I think we'd have riots in the streets if they'd do that !

Stan Lee says' "Superheroes in New York, give me a break" in his Avengers cameo....

Still not sure how they will bring The Inhumans into the MCU, can't wait to hear some announcements.... The term "miracle" could fit, especially because of the role of the Terrigen Mist
