Official Plot Synopsis:

Sucker Punch is an epic action fantasy that takes us into the vivid imagination of a young girl whose dream world provides the ultimate escape from her darker reality. Unrestrained by the boundaries of time and place, she is free to go where her mind takes her, but her incredible adventures blur the lines between what’s real and what is imaginary…with potentially tragic consequences.


Sucker Punch hits theaters on March 25th 2011 starring Emily Browning, Abbie Cornish, Vanessa Hudgens, Jamie Chung, Jena Malone, Carla Gugino, Jon Hamm, Scott Glenn, Oscar Isaac

I am at a loss for words, and not in a positive way, nor a negative way. I'm just...confused. the trailer gave me a headache and I'm not sure what I just saw. It was...weird.

they just add dragon and ninja skills

but worth to watch and tank girl was fantastic cult classic

I expected SUCKER PUNCH to blow my mind, and think perhaps I was expecting too much. It still looks cool, but not necessarily what I expected. Not long ago, I suggested on Twitter that, with new technology, it was time to cinematically revisit TANK GIRL. Drew McWeeny tweeted back that I should wait till I got a good look at SUCKER PUNCH. I see what he means... But I still want a new TANK GIRL. Regardless, I'll be checking this one out at some point. Zack Snyder comes out, says he's been working on this idea for 8 years. It has been “an amazing journey I wanted to torture these girls with.” Happy it got greenlit despite being an original concept and “not based on a breakfast cereal, or Superglue, which could be cool. A Superglue movie -- maybe we'll do that one next.”

Well 300 kicked ass. Watchmen sucked ass. Guess that means this has a 50-50 shot at being a good movie. Can't wait to find out which it is.

Tank Girl@

Comic characters living in another world....don't see that happen much do we?

BabyDoll is in a world created within her own mind and she is battling to free herself from being trapped in the mental state that she is in. Quite different than Tank Girl's world.

A woman abused by a man...don't see that happen very often either do we?

Tank Girl is a silly. caricature-looking character wearing a goofy helmet and her outfit looks nothing like what BabyDoll is wearing in the trailer and promo photos.

Tank Girl rides around on a tank and lives in the tank. Her boyfriend and mutated kangaroo are her companions. Baby Doll has a group of kick-ass girls as her companions in arms and she carries a sword. She uses lots of martial arts and her team uses machine guns a lot. Tank Girl uses machine guns, so I guess there is similarity there. A woman using a machine gun....seen that a few times in movies.

So...no...I don't see where it is even close to a ripoff of Tank Girl. I just watched the Tank Girl trailer from 1995 to refresh my memory (now I will have nightmares from having to subject myself to that again) and it doesn't give me any feeling of being a ripoff other than you have two girls as main characters kicking ass. The tone and feeling of the two are completely different. One being somewhat tongue-in-cheek silly and the other having a very serious tone to it.

We have women who have been abused somehow in their past shooting things up and kicking ass. I guess one could say Kill Bill is a rip-off of Tank Girl as well then?

My interpretation of the message you posted:

Dude wants to see Tank Girl remade. Other dude says....whoah...you may want to see Sucker Punch first...(because it will blow away any remake of Tank Girl they could attempt to make)... Dude says that he still wants to see a remake. It is then pointed out that that Sucker Punch is an original concept and not based off of something else....which means "not a ripoff".

on general: the movie was funny and pretty bad….I mean by funny Great fun and visually interesting I re-watched the movie because I didn’t watch this movie since 5 years.

Fantastic cult the. People judge the tank girl so hard because she just express about her felling Being woman sexual inclinations and her substance abuse. wtf wrong with marring mutant and pretty bad I mean: the adaption it was the worst thing isn’t the tank-girl is Australian Origin why they made her American. Jet Girl and Sub Girl! those two character nothing like Comic. never heard of Kesslee The flick was took too seriously should lighten up.
And screw the writer they made tank girl look like lame mother figure and like monkey living wild savage live .she lives wild live because she wants to
the plot is pretty dumb.for GCI EFFECTS were excellent for classic movie.guys really just don't think about hush critics and get dvd some pop corn and enjoy the movie it deserve your time

From side of comedy: This Movie is Epic Great and those who don't like it can
kiss my ass

This movie has everything - good acting, evil villains, cute heroines, mutants, cool vehicles, explosions, big sets, a huge supporting cast, hilarious humor, great stunts, and even a classic musical number with a full chorus line! ("Let's Do It" by Cole Porter) It even pokes fun at beat poetry. All-in-all, well worth seeing.If you like stuff like this then you'll definitely love this movie. Even if you don't, see this movie anyway - it may change your mind about 1995 movie

snyder wouldnt suit a tank girl movie at all.
snyder takes his movies waaaaaay to serious to even think about taking on a tankgirl bizzaro script,the two should never ever meet imo.
for me i think snyder would be great at bringing some kinda manga to the big screen, bleach or ghost in a shell are the first two that spring to mind
