Heavy Rain: Fancast
A fancast of Quantic Dream's grounbreaking interactive drama
Heavy Rain is a 2010 neo-noir psychological thriller interactive movie/video game created by Quantic Dream for the PS3 known for its intense gameplay and multiple endings. In a nameless American city, the Origami Killer, a serial killer who murders young boys and drowns them during extended periods of rainfall, strikes again, forcing his victim’s father to endure trial after trial in a desperate bid to save his son, while a reporter, an FBI agent and a photojournalist scramble to collect clues leading them to the killer’s identity.
A film version, titled Rain, is under development by Warner Brothers, to be penned by Deadwood scribe David Milch. I look forward to it, with all its finger-hacking and JAYSON-calling glory.
Anyway, my fancast;
David Fincher as director. His past accolades include Se7en, Fight Club and Zodiac. Nuff said.
Jake Gyllenhaal (Donnie Darko) as Ethan Mars, an architect father of two who falls on hard times, suffering from mental issues and a divorce after one of his sons is killed in a traffic accident. Ethan is drawn into the Origami Killer’s machinations, forced to perform five excruciating trials before he can find his son.
Antje Traue (Pandorum, Man of Steel) as Madison Paige, a photojournalist insomniac who becomes embroiled in the hunt for the Origami Killer when she rents a room at the same motel as Ethan Mars.
Brendan Gleeson (Harry Potter, In Bruges) as Scott Shelby, a police officer turned Private Investigator who is hired by the families of past victims of the Origami Killer to catch him.
Aiden Gillen (The Wire, Game of Thrones) as Norman Jayden, an FBI profiler sent to assist the local police department in finding and stopping the Origami Killer.
Lara Pulver (True Blood, Sherlock) as Lauren Winters, a prostitute and single mother of one of the Origami Killer’s past victims.
John C. McGinley (Se7en, Platoon) as Lt. Carter Blake, a ruthless and violent police officer more concerned with clearing the case than finding the culprit.
Paul Guilfoyle (CSI) as Cpt. Leighton Perry, Blake’s superior, who is equally crooked.
Rutger Hauer (Blade Runner, Batman Begins) as Charles Kramer, powerful and influential businessman with criminal dealings who is connected through his son to one of the past Origami victims.
Jessica Chastin (Coriolanus) as Grace Mars, Ethan’s estranged wife.
