Avengers vs. X-Men has rolled out plenty of images of various heroes engaging in battle, but it appears this is just the tip of the marketing iceberg. Marvel Senior VP, David Gabriel, spoke with ICV2 about what the company's plans are.

This is the biggest marketing investment that we’ve ever put into a series or an event. You’ll see that online, through social media, and there’s going to be a radio and television component as well.

There was no specifics about how Marvel will use television to promote the event, but it was stated that Marvel sister companies ABC and Disney XD were among the channels being tossed around.

The marketing campaign will run the entire length of the twelve issue series.

They’re actually treating every issue as an event, because there’s a different fight going on in every issue, and I’m told that they are pushing every single issue through all twelve issues. The story itself has three acts, and each of those acts has a natural marketing hook to it, so they’re pushing those as well. We’re making a concentrated effort like never before to get whatever we can out there.

So, what do you think? You've got an idea who's fighting who from previous images and what we can expect. Think this will pay off? Sound off below!

Really, when does this come out again, I swear, they were throwing all their money towards Fear Itself, and that sucked made dick! If throw a quarter of that budget on this, I'm gonna have to imply that it sucks and that's why they're trying to sell it so bombastically. Well enough bitching.

I recently found out about a certain character's possible fate in Marvel's "the Avengers"

Well, they gotta get more buzz about comics somehow. If this is what it takes to lure audiences to the comic stores so be it. Works pretty darn well for movies. Now I just wanna see more book trailers advertised in theaters.

No middle ground on this, either it's going to be epic or blow. Interesting that they are talking radio and tv ads.

Captain America is a far better combatant than Cyclops. He wouldn't be stupid enough to let his guard down and let Cyclops burn him with his blasts. Cap has also faced off greater threats. Cyclops doesn't pose much of a threat against him. I just hope this is a good event. I feel Marvel has been slacking lately. The last event from them I loved was Civil War. I also hope this is really good since Adam Kubert will be drawing several of the issues. He's one of my teachers, and based on some of the stuff I've seen, there will be some pretty cool stuff here.
