Henry Cavill's Superman to Be "As Contemporary" As Possible
The casting of Henry Cavill in Zack Snyder's Superman film will usher in a new era for the Man of Steel, and the impression given from Warner execs is that this will be an opportunity to put away previous cinematic versions of the character and offer something new.

"He's got an amazing quality," a studio exec confided to Deadline.com. "He doesn't look too much like Reeve and Routh, but he's big and strong and he has a very modern feel to him. We're really going to try and make Superman as contemporary as possible."
This will, of course, mean the John Williams theme from Richard Donner's Superman: The Movie that symbolized the character for a couple of generations will be retired. The film itself will likely be as radical a rethink of the franchise as Batman Begins was to Batman and Robin.
