Usually we don't get to see a "Critics" TV spot this early, but it seems that Walt Disney Pictures decided it's time for word-of-mouth marketing. Quotes are from people who saw the film in Arizona at the press screening. Also, there is another spot like this only longer, and it was shown last night right before the Academy Awards. The quality is not perfect, almost low-res, but if I find the HD version, I'll update the article. Check it out:

You can follow @JohnCarter film on Twitter and LIKE it on Facebook. Taylor Kitsch, Lynn Collins and Willem Dafoe, Mark Strong, Bryan Cranston, James Purefoy, Dominic West, Thomas Haden Church and Ciarán Hinds are starring in the upcoming adaptation. On MARCH 9TH, he arrives.

From Academy Award®--winning filmmaker Andrew Stanton comes "John Carter"—a sweeping action-adventure set on the mysterious and exotic planet of Barsoom (Mars). "John Carter" is based on a classic novel by Edgar Rice Burroughs, whose highly imaginative adventures served as inspiration for many filmmakers, both past and present. The film tells the story of war-weary, former military captain John Carter (Taylor Kitsch), who is inexplicably transported to Mars where he becomes reluctantly embroiled in a conflict of epic proportions amongst the inhabitants of the planet, including Tars Tarkas (Willem Dafoe) and the captivating Princess Dejah Thoris (Lynn Collins). In a world on the brink of collapse, Carter rediscovers his humanity when he realizes that the survival of Barsoom and its people rests in his hands. The screenplay was written by Andrew Stanton, Mark Andrews and Michael Chabon.

Trying to find that second one, but it's not online just yet. Anyway, this is great, and I'm glad we are already getting one of these.

I won't be surprised if JOHN CARTER is a huge hit like AVATAR. I don't know, I'm expecting it to be, kind of.

Rotten Tomatoes doesn't even have a single review up for it yet???

I dont know too much about this movie looks kinda avatarish, but im more interested in the Wrath of The Titans... the Nephilim of old, men of renown

coolant10: Avatar was heavily influenced by this story (which was written in 1912), so yes, there are similarities. Read this, hope it helps: http://www.comicbookmovie.com/fansites/Wolvie09/news/?a=54080

Most of the major critics haven't posted reviews yet (they're embargoed), so this commercial features a lot of small print nobodies.

I think Disney's embargo lifts about 3 days before the film's release, to let the reviews seep into the consciousness early. Seems the company is pretty confident -- otherwise there would not have been screenings at all until as late as possible.

It's not great when a studio is picking out one word from each review! Normally an indication that movie isn't so great.

Kung[frick]oala: These are NOT reviews. These are quotes from people who saw the film and gave those quotes to studio right after screening.

I didn't think I would be interested in this movie at first but I am totally going to see it next week. The books are also pretty good as well.
