THEORY: Could the Tesseract be the key in restoring the Bifrost?

I`ll get right to the point. For a while I`ve been thinking that the tesseract could be a replacement for the Bifrost. Now before you shower me with reasons why this is a complete buwer you with reasons why it`s possible.

Ok so we already know that the tesseract can bring us to different worlds. At first I thought it could only bring us to thanos` world but thor brought Loki back to Asgard with it. We know that it`s Asgardian in nature because the 2nd scenes from both THOR and CA:TFA are set in the same place with different times. Now keeping in mind what those 2 scenes are about it`s safe to say that Odin brought down the tesseract when the frost giants attacked earth.

So it comes from asgard and the Asgardians know it`s power. Odin sent Thor down in The Avengers to get Loki and the tesseract. Conclusion: maybe the Asgardians were holding the tesseract as a backup plan just in case the Bifrost ever failed them. So now that they have it they can use it to replace and/or restore the Bifrost.

Also I was looking at this image:



and I noticed that there was little dot in there like planets and realms like the Bifrost. So maybe it works like the Bifrost?

I feel like Thanos could care less about it if it just fixed the Bifrost.

this could be true the Tesseract has unlimited power.

Hmmmm
You know the rainbow bridge has been destroyed in the comics before, and they didn't need the Cosmic Cube to rebuild it.

I think your theory is totally possible. When you think about it the cube has only really shown two types of uses.

1) allows people to travel through the cosmos.
2) as a source of energy to power weapons, vehicles, etc
The real question is do the asgardians need it.

Doubt it just fixes the Bifrost but I'm sure it could. With that said, I'm sure we'll see it play a big part in Thor: The Dark World.

There are a few questions we have to ask?

1. Why did odin bring the tesserect to earth and hide it in Tosenberg?

2. Why did they not fear Hydras use of the tesserect?

3. did both thor and loki not know the true power of tesserect before the end of the thor movie?
as we see in avengers in loki and thors first scene: Loki: I've seen worlds you've never known about! I have grown, Odin's Son, in my exile! I have seen the true power of the Tesseract, and when I wield it...
Thor: Who showed you this power? Who controls the would-be-king?
and what was loki going to do if he were to wield it?

4. When the Other said "We look beyond the Earth to greater worlds the Tesseract will unveil." is this there initial/ primary use for the tesserect, just to open a door. What are these greater worlds? what is of significance that is on those worlds to have thanos invest interest.

5. would it make sense if the tesserect were a backup for the bifrost only to have put on earth where they wouldnt be able to aquire it after the bifrost was destroyed. its kind of like saying "ive got a spare car but its on the moon."

well I for one wish they would let Thor loose. Not to mention mjolnir! The hammer has the power to open portals to other places and even other demensions. Thor dont need no stinking cube!
