After grossing more than a billion dollars at the worldwide box office, with plans for an ice show and an appearance on ABC's Once Upon a Time, the Frozen franchise simply can't get enough! Now, book publisher Random House will be creating chapter book sequels to the hit animated movie in a series titled "Anna & Elsa".
Anna & Elsa #1: All Hail the Queen and Anna & Elsa #2: Memory and Magic will both go on sale on January 6, 2015. The stories will "add more detail to the Frozen world" and focus on sisters Anna and Elsa as they learn more about each other. The plan is to publish about three or four books a year. Erica David will write the books, and has previously written spin-offs for How to Train Your Dragon, The Legend of Korra and Mr. Peabody & Sherman.
Barbara Marcus, the children's division president of Random House commented on the announcement.
"We have seen our Disney Never Girls series fill a real niche in the chapter book market, and with the momentum for Frozen only continuing to grow, we knew this was the perfect focus for this new series."
