The only real CBM news I see anime wise, is Dragon Ball and Bleach. And while they are good animes, there are many more less generic anime's that deserve movies.

Sailor Moon

Story: The series focuses on the Sailor Senshi, a group of magical girls tasked with defending the earth.

This wouldn't by any means be an easy adaption. It might be a rare case where a "dark and gritty" adaption might be the better route (ala Sucker Punch).

As for director: Wachowskis

Spice & Wolf

Story: The series focuses on Holo, a wolf deity of wheat, who travels with a merchant named Kraft Lawrence.

While the series is heavily fantastical, there needs to be a lot of focus on the merchant and trade elements.

As for director: Peter Jackson or Guillermo Del Toro

Welcome to the NHK

Story: The series focuses on a twenty-two-year-old antisocial individual who gets aid from a strange girl who seems to know a lot about him, despite never meeting him before.

A personal favorite of mine. The series revolves around conspiracies. There would need to be a strong psychological element, while still having a comedic undertone.

As for director: David Fincher

Trigun

Story: The series focuses on an outlaw called Vash the Stampede, who has a ten million double dollar bounty on his head.

There would need to be a lot of slow-mo action.

As for director: Quentin Tarantino

FLCL

Story: The series focuses on a boy whose boring life is changed by a girl on a motorbike.

The series is heavy on spontaneity and psychedelia, while keeping a dark undertone. All three would be needed for a successful film adaption.

As for director: David Fincher

@dellamorte1872 Not shit, just not your cup of tea.

As the title stated, these are just animes that I'D like to see adapted. I might make a more general list of animes.

There is a Japanese live-action Devilman movie:

Personally, I would like a Robotech live-action movie.

I've only heard of Sailor Moon never watched it and never heard of the others. I'd like Naruto, Bleach DBZ and Full Metal Alchemist to get movies

Sailor Moon is perfect in the anime telivison show it stayed in. Besides, "dark and gritty" would NOT work in that show. How would a show about love conquering all work with dark and gritty? xD

Trigun FTW!! I'd love to see a live action Cowboy Bebop, without Keanu Reeves.

I don't like anime. If I were to see an movie that was based off of anime, I would rather watch it without knowing it's based off of one. Now, just because I don't like anime doesn't mean I didn't use to. I use to watch Dragon Ball Z when I was younger and because I've grown from it and I know nothing about it, I think I appreciated Dragonball: Evolution more. Yes, I like that movie. It's not my problem if you don't like it.

Ninja Scroll and Ghost in the Shell

@ corndog
I was just thinking how epic would ninja scroll be. But we already had a ghost in the shell remake they called it the matrix. They stole so many scenes from GitS.
