Fancast: Samurai Jack

“Long ago in a distant land, I, Aku, the shape-shifting Master of Darkness, unleashed an unspeakable evil! But a foolish Samurai warrior wielding a magic sword stepped forth to oppose me. Before the final blow was struck, I tore open a portal in time and flung him into the future, where my evil is law! Now the fool seeks to return to the past, and undo the future that is Aku!”

As for director, I'm going with Quentin Tarantino.

DANIEL DAE KIM as JACK

Honestly, Daniel Dae Kim wasn’t the first person I thought of for Jack, but I’m still pretty proud of this choice. He looks the part to a T. And if you’ve seen him on Lost, you’ll know that he’s pretty perfect for the role.

JOHN DIMAGIO as THE SCOTSMAN

He voiced him on the show, and looks the part well enough. The only problem is that he hasn’t done any live action acting, only voice.

REBEL WILSON as THE SCOTSMAN’S WIFE

She was my first choice for the role. As for whether she can do a Scottish accent is yet to be seen.

DUSTIN HOFFMAN as AKU

I originally had Jackie Chan as Aku, but thought Hoffman would be a much better choice. He has the perfect voice for Aku since Mako Iwamatsu (RIP) isn’t with us anymore.

JACKIE CHAN as THE EMPOROR/JACK’S FATHER

A rather small role, but he seemed to fit quite nicely.

On Jack- "He looks the part to a T" LOL why? because he's yellow? JKs, I just imagined Jack to be a lot taller and leaner. younger too.

this was my show as a kid! but i think a movie would be hard have to be a trilogy,dont know how i feel about hoffman as aku though

Hoffman is a bit dodgy, but the rest are good.
George Lucas as director is a joke though right? Cause seriously, nonononononoNO.
Overall, decent. Could do with some improvement but has potential and is pleasant.

ermm how about no, i love jackie chan and all but there are plenty of actual japanese actors to pick from for a japanese role and not really keen on the whole hoffman thing either.

CaptainCanti @ Well to be honest it depends all on what kind of film you're going for. A cast can only say so much.
But if it was something darker and more gritty than the cartoons (some others of your cast would have to be changed - though I really like Dae Kim) I'd go for Guy Ritchie or Darren Aronofsky.
For a more family-film aspect that could appeal to the same age audience as the cartoon targeted I'd say someone like Stephen Sommers.
But to be honest there a lot more original and newcomer directors that could handle this movie. The point is the only good thing George Lucas has ever directed was Star Wars IV which was approx 36 years ago.

great job, but i think you could've gotten someone more evil to be aku(like willem dafoe or tim curry)
