So Yesterday I finally saw The Dark Knight Rises... it was EPIC! So I just had to do a fan art piece... enjoy!.. Thinking of doing a Amazing Spider-man piece also as I saw it over the weekend... but batman just had to come first!

Before people start trying to be smart and saying "its unfinished" this is the style I am currently working in.

I was also so shocked about the news on the shooting in the US.. Rest in peace all those who died in this tragedy and all those who where injured I wish all the best and hope you and the family of the deceased recover from this nightmarish act of violence.

I remember you from posting before.

You trace your work, so how is it you're an award winning graphic designer...if you trace your work? By the way, what awards have you won?

You're a good tracer. Now, if you did this by looking at the picture that'd be a different story. But I overlayed this and your other work found the images on Google that you used and they fit perfectly together.

Bravo sir. Bravo

I don't trace all my work and saying its traced is a bit derogative.. some of it I use images to get portions correct.. I have won a few awards whilst I was a student and won upcoming illustrator of the year last year. You seemed very de terminated to out me as a phoney.. I cannot remember what artist said (it might of been warhol) artist steal of each other all the time its rare you get an original idea... so as you said I traced (used original image for correct positioning of eyes ect) this it is still my own image because its in my own style and its not line by line identical.. but thanks for the comment.
Stumblin - 7/25/2012, 9:55 AM
Warhol was speaking about ideas.

Also, this is traced considering it is practically line for line...The shape of the characters and everything. Nothing is slightly skewed or anything. You didn't do this "free hand." I'm glad what you thought I said was derogatory because that was the point. Why do you think people give Greg Land so much flack? You lose respect.

I'm not that determined, you just make yourself an easy target. Also, I hate people that don't give their resources when they trace or otherwise plagiarize an image. The last time I outed you, it was a Captain America image.
Stumblin - 7/25/2012, 9:58 AM
I don't think you deserved to win any awards considering all you do is Google image, trace it with vector and say, "Look what I drew!" And please tell me what exact awards did you win?

I do other work that just trace stuff... the stuff I trace is just stuff I do in spare time... honestly couldnt give a crap what you think mate I am not plagiarizing any images because I am not saying the original image I used is mine I am saying my version of the image is mine.. I no I didnt do this freehand all my work is digital. My aim in this post was not to get your respect so if I loose it I dont care.. I carnt even remember posting a captain america image I am not going to waste my time trying to prove a point.. I am making a living off being a freelance illustrator and I sometimes do some fan art.. if you dont like my work fine.. no need to start a conversation on why you dont like it.. your entitled to your opinion..but it doesnt mean I have to care about it
Stumblin - 7/25/2012, 12:09 PM
...You realize you can still do freehand work digitally right? And thank you for finally admitting you do in fact trace. Nothing is wrong with it if you're using it to learn, but post the picture that you used otherwise yes, you're plagiarizing. As in, taking someone else's work, tweaking it and calling it your own without sourcing your resources.

If this is just for fun to learn and gain new techniques, go for it, nothing wrong with that. But when I look at your portfolio and you have countless other images that are traced and blatantly copied it pulls up a red flag.

Why can't I start a conversation on why I don't like your work? Free country. Apparently you never learned to handle criticism very well. Welcome to the artist's world, where your work is constantly being critiqued and criticized.

For someone who doesn't want to waste their time to prove me wrong, you're not doing so well.

You obviously went to school and graduated so you're certainly old enough to realize that what I've said is not an opinion but a fact, this is plagiarizing.
markthomaslambert - 7/25/2012, 12:33 PM
No its not plagiarizing... and I only trace sometimes when doing fan art... so mate comment all you like your wasting your time. HAHAHAHA I can handle criticism fine... its when people make a big deal about it. Welcome to the artists world? I have been in the artists world for years.. I will still post work up whether you like it or not.. your opinion or as you say fact doesn't matter to me so next time a sufficient I like it or don't like it is fine... a paragraph or two is overboard
MikeKus34 - 7/25/2012, 12:58 PM
Dude you promote yourself as some award winning artist, and I too have been a designer and illustrator for a number of years now...looking at your portfolio alot of your vector illustrations are obvious auto-traces. You can tell because the shape is off in atleast one aspect of almost all of your works. Stumblin asked you a question which you still have yet to answer, exactly what awards have you won, man? I'm curious myself.
markthomaslambert - 7/25/2012, 1:14 PM
If you think I use auto-trace you can go [frick] off... I have won award with YCN which is a student award.. Lincoln young artist award which is also a student award and won upcoming illustrator of the year at fact in liverpool.

Geektality - 7/27/2012, 5:51 PM
It's not art, it's rotoscope.
Stumblin - 7/30/2012, 12:08 PM
"and I only trace sometimes when doing fan art." Oh really? What about the countless other images on your portfolio website that you obviously traced? Also, sorry I made you read soooo many paragraphs, I felt the need to break things down for you so you would maybe understand...apparently you're a lost cause.

Have fun with your best attendance awards. Your pointless awards don't mean a damn thing because your talent is tracing.

Keep posting please because you make yourself look like a jackass :)
