Puzzle Quest was an odd game that became an unexpected hit when it came out towards the end of the last decade. Combining the elements from the puzzle game Bejeweled and RPG features like spells, levels, and battles, the humble portable game has been ported to nearly every device imaginable and has generated a sequel and a spin-off.

About two weeks ago, Marvel registered the domain marvelpuzzlequest.com, leading to speculation that a Puzzle Quest spin-off featuring the heroes and villains of the Marvel universe is in the works. This comes at a time when the original developer of Puzzle Quest has regained its status as an independent studio, and has stated as much that a new game heavily inspired by Puzzle Quest will be coming in 2013.

Gusto misses the good ol' days when puzzles weren't digital and he could invite people to his naked puzzle basement
