So it's finally here. I've been anticipating the third installment in the Iron Man series for a long time. Iron Man was my favorite Phase One Marvel movie (excluding The Avengers), and despite a disappointing but still enjoyable sequel, Iron Man Three quickly became one of my most anticipated movies of 2013. However, having seen Iron Man Three, I do feel that this is a comic book movie that will split audiences, perhaps more than any other ever has. Find out more in my spoiler-free review.
In The Place Beyond the Pines, a motorcycle stunt rider turns to robbing banks as a way to provide for his lover and their newborn child, a decision that puts him on a collision course with an ambitious rookie cop navigating a department ruled by a corrupt detective.

There's a lot to be excited for in the next few months, and so I've compiled a list to share what I'm looking forward to most right now.

Room 237 is a subjective documentary that explores the numerous theories about the hidden meanings within Stanley Kubrick's film The Shining. The film may be over 30 years old but it continues to inspire debate, speculation, and mystery. Five very different points of view are illuminated through voice over, film clips, animation and dramatic reenactments. Together they'll draw the audience into a new maze, one with endless detours and dead ends, many ways in, but no way out.

On March 10th 2012, a little movie called Funeral Kings premiered in the United States at the South by Southwest Film Festival, and was generally very well received all round by critics. In Rian Johnson’s Looper, Joe (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) is a hitman hired by the mob to dispose of targets sent back from thirty years in the future. The second half of the year is rarely very exciting for movies in general. However, this (half) year we still have some great-looking movies to see. Please understand that all the movies I am excited for and why I am/am not excited for them are all part of my personal opinion and I'm sure there will be plenty of people who disagree.
