Martian Manhunter Returns

Exec producer Kelly Souders confirms that the highly anticipated "Absolute Justice" Smallville movie slated to air in early 2010 will mark the return of Phil Morris as Martian Manhunter.
"Smallville"’s upcoming Justice Society-themed two-parter has added another headliner. Exec producer Kelly Souders confirms that the highly anticipated episodes (titled “Society” and slated to air in early 2010) will mark the return of Phil Morris as Martian Manhunter.

Penned by comic book hero Geoff Johns, “Society” marks the arrival of Justice Society members Hawkman, Doctor Fate, and Stargirl. The abundance of special guest stars is what prompted Souders and fellow show-runner Brian Peterson to expand the episode into two parts.

“To be honest, there were so many characters and so much great story that people would’ve been robbed of some great moments if we kept it to just one hour,” says Sounders. “So now that it’s a two-parter, you won’t miss anything.”

flames809 - 11/28/2009, 2:33 PM
@THABATMAN: Nightwing would be a great show, esp. with a good fight choreographer. Birds of Prey didn't really work as a Batman spin-off, though.
Upupandaway - 11/28/2009, 2:44 PM
Phil Morris is THE MAN! (Hunter from Mars) lol
Still can't wait for this to air.

Ozymandias - 11/28/2009, 4:37 PM
Any news on the LOIS LANE/CHLOE SULLIVAN: KISSING COUSINS Sex Tape yet?

That'd be HOT. Purrrrr. lol jk ;)

Sold. I'll be checking this in Feb. :)
SpiderBat209 - 11/28/2009, 4:57 PM
um, this was announced about a month about. why is it just now being reported on this site? In fact I even showed the link to the original story online.

Anyway this of course is good news. Now the only other people they have to announce is the return of FLASH, AQUAMAN, BLACK CANARY, and SUPERGIRL.

now that you know that hey are also adding Zatanna, MM, Dr Fata, Stargirl, hawkman, and what looks like the GREEN LANTERN based on the promo from the last episode, what is your prediction of who will be added in the JLA/JSA 2 hour movie?

let me know what you think. thanks

"anyway Smallville is on it's last legs as a show me

Um, this wont be their last season. next season will be their last with a spin off series. Most likely JLA.

Thank u for reminding me about cyborg. I forgot about him. he hasnt been announced but he will be back.

batman wont be on until next season, bank on it, BUT, dont be surprised if WW shows up at seasons end.

brianj22 - 11/28/2009, 5:25 PM
Watch those idiotic outbursts Brianj22.

And your nuts if you think you will ever see Batman on Smallville..do some research.
RorMachine - 11/28/2009, 5:55 PM
WW needs to be brought in but Cyborg needs to go. He belongs
in Teen Titans! Maybe they can do a Teen Titans
with Cyborg segueing into it with Nightwing and the gang!
That's the way I'd like to see Nightwing...as the leader
of the live-action Teen Titans!

Smallville is not on its last legs at all! Its doing
better than ever and everyone thought it would die in
the Friday night lineup! Friday has become Sci-fi-
Fantasy night for most of the channels on TV! I
for one love it! I'm a sci-fi/fantasy freakazoid! lol
DDD - 11/28/2009, 6:01 PM
OZY: Lol, sure you didnt dream that one? What an awful idea for a movie..! :P
JoshW - 11/28/2009, 6:12 PM
Dude's a great actor, glad to hear.
Pym - 11/28/2009, 6:31 PM
I wrote an article about this about 3 weeks ago. About 3 comments
in someone pointed out that an article had already been written about this (by ozy I believe) so I deleted my article due to the sites policy about double post. Guesse I should have left mine up.

"Watch those idiotic outbursts Brianj22."

Funny, I didnt realize I was Outbursting. I must have missed something. And since when is giving my opinion idiotic? OOOOH, thats right, because someone doesnt agree with yours. MY bad.

------------------------

"And your nuts if you think you will ever see Batman on Smallville..do some research."

Well than im nuts because Ive already done research because, oh, by the way, I work for the media and have sources in the business.

OH, and come to think of it, do some research of your own. I know all about Nolan having a hold on the batman character, but WB can use batman anytime they choose but as of now are holding off on using him.

Also, in case you didnt read, which obviously you DIDNT, you'd have noticed I said hed be on next year. The reason should have been obvious. I mentioned about the JLA spin off. That is very much a possibility and has already been talked about.

Also, THE GREYSONS is to beging airing starting next season in the CW. There has already been talk that either bruce wayne and/or batman will make an appearence one day in Smallville in a one or two part episode that will lead to the Greysons, OR BW/batman will make an appearence in an early going of the Greysons.

So, um, what fine, outstanding research have you done lately?

brianj22 - 11/28/2009, 10:13 PM
Um, correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't they scrap "Graysons" a while back?

http://www.variety.com/article/VR1117995430.html?categoryid=14&cs=1

OK...correct Variety if they're wrong...
thehumantorch - 11/29/2009, 12:30 AM
@Brian: Sorry dude, but I'm going to have to agree with Ror on this. You say you've got contacts and sources and that you have this knowledge and have done "research", yet offer...none of it? Give us a bit of proof and I think we'd all be much more willing to believe your "opinions".

And I was under the impression from past articles on CBM that "The Greysons" was nixed by the CW. At least, I hope it was. I can buy "Smallville" as a stand-alone pocket universe of the Superman Mythos. But if you're trying to push Dick Grayson, the original Robin, as a vigilante BEFORE he meets Batman and has his parents brutally murdered, then...I just don't see it workin. Who knows though. They might pull it off. But I highly doubt it.
IrvineGray - 11/29/2009, 1:10 AM
If they changed their tune on the graysons than the source I was given was before they cancelled it. I havent kept up it the past couple of weeks. not to mention im gonna scold the chit out of someone here on the msg boards because hes the person that is in the media as well as i am and "his sources" said that the graysons were back on. he even showed me the source material that was fairly recent.

what this also tells me is that CW/WB doesnt have their collective shit and gear but thats not a shock. CW/WB keeps claiming life is moving on with there tv and movie adaptations but the proof is in the pudding and so far no desert is on the table. they are either too fricken slow on the go or cant make up their fricken minds or both.

A show about robin/nightwing makes more sense anyway, and since nolan was quoted as saying he will NEVER use robin in his batman movies there is no excuse not to use robin at some point and time in any of the CW shows.

Irvine, I originally questioned my source about the graysons telling him it was not going to happen but he did show me his source that showed it was back on. When I find it I will repost it so you can see for yourself. It was fairly recent, I'd say about a month ago. I will look for it tomorrow.

I agree with you. I wouldnt buy it either but than again this is smallville and as we are all finding out they seem to have a mythology all of their own. Im the type of person that u dont F with the mythology to the point of making one of your own. To me its not right. To me your butchering the original creators artwork and
creativity.

The bottom line though is that it looks like it wont happen but I will do some pressing and find out for sure.

And trust me, im not trying to "push the graysons". Ask anyone who knows me, im trying to push a JLA spin off series, not the graysons.

as far as greysons, it seems that, according to the article that i read on this site, that they've decided to smarten up and go w/ a nightwing show... which would be awesome sauce.

back to the subject though, this dude rocks as MM.

I WOULD LIKE HIM BALD GREEN WITH RED EYES, WOULD LOVE TO SEE HIM IN HIS TRUE FORM.
GUNSMITH - 11/29/2009, 4:12 AM
Ozymandias- they aren't gonna have a spin off from watchmen dumbass. that would be [frick]ing stupid, leave something that was good good. how bout that catwoman spin off?
You can't make a movie about someone that most people hated.
chucksome12391 - 11/29/2009, 4:30 AM
Well Brian, I was referring to your piss ant, throw all your toys out of the pram comment about panty waste you directed at Ozy because HE didn't agree with YOU about Smallville being good and which I had to delete. Something of a hypocrite aren't we?

And as for the Batman on Smallville thing, the shows producers have said we will never see Bruce Wayne on the show. Now until they retract or change that comment, forgive me if I don't take your word for it!
RorMachine - 11/29/2009, 7:56 AM
yeah, as cool as it would be to see bruce on smallville I don't think we ever will. The producers have consistently nixed that idea every time they've been asked so I don't think their answer has changed.
thwhtGuardian - 11/29/2009, 10:00 AM
hey rorschach01, two words, spell checker.

"throw all your toys out of the pram"

Also

"And as for the Batman on Smallville thing, the shows producers have said we will never see Bruce Wayne on the show. Now until they retract or change that comment, forgive me if I don't take your word for it!"

UM, show me the quote where they say that. if that is so then explain to my why theyve already asked to do a batman episode and they were told not too because of Nolan.

And if you would read I said IF they do a JLA spin off series. As is no BW/BATMAN wont be on the show becuase the story doesnt need him in it, BUT if they go the JLA spin off route you can bet your ass hell be in it in some way, shape or form, regardless if you take my word for it or not.

and btw, your off my christman card list. :)
brianj22 - 11/29/2009, 6:55 PM
I'm just gonna shake my head...it's easier that way...
thehumantorch - 11/29/2009, 10:17 PM
haha, your a tool dude. Spell checker?

"becuase the story doesnt need him in it,"

If your going to use something as pointless as a typo or "spellcheck" to attempt to insult someone, at least have the common sense to make sure you follow your own advice. Go and do some research like I said, there are about 3 articles on the very subject of Batman appearing on Smallville on this site alone.
