Move over Marvel and DC, the independent Image Comics have stolen the limelight, taking the prize of Publisher of the Year!

With events such as Forever Evil and Infinity taking most of the years publicity few suspected Image would take the top title.

DC left the awards with the most (six) awards, including Top Dollar Comic of the Year for Superman Unchained.

Diamond Distribution CEO Steve Geppi had this to say about Image:

Image established the Gem Awards to give comic retailers an opportunity to recognize the vendors, titles, and products that have been instrumental in helping their businesses grow over the past year. Our vendors work diligently to support retailers and the entire industry with top-quality titles and products, and we thank all of the retailers who took time from their busy schedules to vote and acknowledge those efforts

The one who write the post make it sound like if DC had the most awards, but they all are for toys.
I'm not trying to start a flame war. Just saying.
Marvel sold more comics

"Marvel sold more comics"
They release many comics bi-weekly.

Question
That's my biggest problem with DC, the story feels far slower if it's only 12 issues a year
marvel72 - 1/24/2014, 2:19 PM

Jollem - 1/24/2014, 4:55 PM

Wish Image still had Wild c.a.t.s. And Stormwatch, DC crapped all over them.
