Fox isn't screwing around with a potential blockbuster...it's either to be directed by Ridley Scott himself, or bust!
So Fox doesn't wanna let Mr. Scott go ahead with production of the prequel for "Alien" if he himself will not direct. He wants the gig for Carl Rinsch to do the honors however DESPITE the fact the dude has never before directed a big screen flick...but apparently he has done some REALLY NEAT COMMERCIALS! Furthermore, there's a rumor that Rinsch is involved with Scott's daughter Jordan!! Scandelous, right?
You gotta love the b@lls on Scott though(this is me ranting and speculating)...here he is telling Fox that he wants a prequel developed to a modern classic that HE directed thirty years ago...MAYBE they get excited over this, I dunno, but I'm sure they just LOVE the idea of him saying "by the way, I do not intend to direct this...but there's this kid who's going steady with my daughter, and I'd like to see you entrust HIM with hundreds of millions of dollars to pull this off. Okey Dokey?"
Man, I am in the wrong line of work!
