"Lies," Slade told MTV News when asked about the reports of him being involved with the movie. "Not true. Total internet rumor. I don't know anything about it," he added. "I emailed Sam Raimi asking him if he'd send me the script at least, and no, nothing."

"It's funny, particularly with something like 'Twilight,' you get all these bizarre rumors that are made up by bloggers or whatever! And I don't know how that one originated, but I can debunk it and say I will not be directing 'The Shadow' and I have no idea where it came from."

How about Pierre Morel as a director? He directed Taken.
Watcher - 6/24/2010, 1:06 PM
?? A new Shadow? huh??

Well it can't be as bad as the last one.

Can it?
LEEE777 - 6/24/2010, 1:12 PM
TEA @ I enjoyed the first one too! : D

For its time, it was done really well!
crazyray - 6/24/2010, 1:20 PM
@Jugg- no possible way it could be. the novelization wasn't bad. ...then again i was 11 and had penelope ann miller in it.
Watcher - 6/24/2010, 1:28 PM
hmmmmm. Maybe I should give that one a second watch.
I was so young at the time I honestly can't remember why I thought it was dumb.

I have CD's of classic original The Shadow radio episodes. It IS cool. There's potential there, no doubt.

SHAZAM171 - 6/24/2010, 1:51 PM
I want the SHADOW!!! A HBO series or an R-rated movie.

MassExecutions - 6/24/2010, 1:54 PM
Hey, how about Alex Proyas as a director?
LEEE777 - 6/24/2010, 2:22 PM
MASS @ Alex Proyas as the director is a amazing idea, i like!

MassExecutions - 6/24/2010, 2:46 PM
@Leee - I figure you take Dark City's style plus I, Robots action and you can get a good Shadow movie.

If Brody sells me on his action ability in Predators, maybe. One character where people couldn't complain about his nose.
SHAZAM171 - 6/24/2010, 2:55 PM
MADAME MIRAGE is the female SHADOW. She's hot and the comics & art were amazing. If they every do a movie I hope they use Sexy Sarinda Swan.

RorMachine - 6/24/2010, 3:03 PM
I don't know much about the original character but I thought the Alec Baldwin film was hilarious. His superpower was getting a bigger nose!
AlexDeLarge87 - 6/24/2010, 3:04 PM
LEEE777@ Adrien Brody or... DANIEL DAY-LEWIS!!:D As The Shadow.

David Fincher, Alex Proyas, James McTeigue or Christopher Nolan as the director!
Watcher - 6/24/2010, 3:27 PM
lol "The Shadow's Nose"
LEEE777 - 6/24/2010, 3:46 PM
TEA @ B00Bies! : D

JUGGS @ Lmao!

ALEX @ Great choices dude, real good!

MASS @ Hell yeah, luv DARK CITY!

Hopefully Hollywood does more than just talks about THE SHADOW!

Should this still be a period piece?

Where's the Doc Savage movie? A GOOD one!

@SHAZAM171
i about to jiz my pants at though pictures
slimybug - 6/24/2010, 5:36 PM
IMO, David Slade could possibly be the biggest sellout in Hollywood history. He builds up a fantastic reputation for himself as a brilliant, Hitchcockian auteur, and then decides his next movie wil be...Twilight.

Guess he wanted a bigger paycheck.
jacksback - 6/24/2010, 5:42 PM
they need to make the movie, just need to make sure they do it justice.
Cosmo - 6/24/2010, 6:09 PM
I love the Alec Baldwin Shadow! Adrien Brody is a good call for a new Shadow--no special make up needed!
Upupandaway - 6/24/2010, 6:32 PM
I would go for Adrien Brody as well. Excellent actor As for this news, thank goodness.
AsianAvenger - 6/24/2010, 8:18 PM
GOOD CAUSE NO TWILIGHT DIRECTOR SHOULD DIRECT THIS MOVIE, THEY ALL SUCK!!!
BrianZKing - 6/24/2010, 8:34 PM
Sam Rami should just direct it himself.
abw2 - 6/24/2010, 10:11 PM

I thought Sam Raimi was directing this film before this article was put up.

LEEE777 - 6/24/2010, 11:29 PM
OSCURO @ UP @ Cosmo @ ; )

abw2 @ Yeah he was, all that went t!ts up tho!

Anil@ the shadow wouldn't be epic fail if done right!

I want to see Mark Strong do it! His on-screen
presence would be foreboding yet heroic! That is what the
Shadow is supposed to be! He's a scary guy to the bad guys! I
think Mark would be downright frightening as THE SHADOW! Like
the Shadow should be.

With Alex Proyas or Chris Nolan and MARK STRONG
this movie would be phenomenal!

THE SHADOW-STRONG 1
DDD - 6/25/2010, 8:11 AM
This movie needs to be dark and gritty, dark and
atmospheric, dark and shadowy...uh...did I mention
DARK!

That Baldwin Shadow was just too brightly lit and
cheery. The Shadow is supposed to be CREEPY and
STRANGE and..uh...SHADOWY!
MassExecutions - 6/25/2010, 8:17 AM
@DDD - Whoa. That COULD be a great chance for Mark Strong to play a hero/antihero. Talk about someone who could convincingly scary the crap out of bad guys! You'd have to cast a super bad @$$ as the villain, or somebody who can always keep there cool. That would definitely make me take notice, along with my Alex Proyas suggestion.
ThaMessenger07 - 6/25/2010, 10:32 AM
I used to love the original but a new more faithful take would be great! I Like Mark Strong but hes starting to be like so many other actors on here and cast in everything.
AlexDeLarge87 - 6/25/2010, 1:38 PM
DDD@ MARK STRONG WOULD BE PERFECT!!!:D
