New Details On TDKR India Shoot; Info On "Desert Sequence" And League Of Shadows!

According to the Hindustan Times website, The Dark Knight Rises will begin filming of a "two desert sequence" this coming Friday and Saturday at the Mehrangarh Fort in Jodhphur, Rajasthan.

An industry source told them, "Chris flew down to India in December last year in a hush-hush affair for a recce in Jodhpur, and he loved the place. He will shoot a two-day desert sequence there and inside the Mehrangarh Fort on May 6 and May 7. It’ll be a fraction scene in the movie and perhaps the audiences won’t even come to know that it’s India"

Apparently, the film unit is already there and chartered a plane with over a dozen crew members as well as director Christopher Nolan who is expected to leave the country. Christian Bale however is NOT said to be in attendence.

Here's where things get really interesting though:

Other sources inform that the Jodhpur footage may feature the superhero’s antagonists The League of Shadows, considering their link to Asia, as shown in the movie.

The plot revolves around Batman dealing with his new status as a wanted vigilante pitted against the deadly villain Bane (Tom Hardy) and Selina Kyle, aka Catwoman, played by Anne Hathaway.

Now the plot description is more than likely just an assumption on the sites part especially as the general buzz is that we'll see something along those lines in the movie. However, further confirmation from a "source" may indicate that they know a little more about the movie than we realise, while this is yet further confirmation of the League of Shadows being included.

With an all star cast which includes Christian Bale as Bruce Wayne/Batman, Michael Caine as Alfred Pennyworth, Garly Oldman as Jim Gordon, Tom Hardy as Bane, Anne Hathaway as Selina Kyle, Joseph Gordon-Levitt as John Blake and Marion Cotillard as Miranda Tate, The Dark Knight Rises is set to be released on July 20, 2012!

What's a good series of Batman comic to read today? I've read the graphic novels: TDK, TDKR, Year One, Long Halloween, Dark Victory, Killing Joke. What's the current stuff that looks like that picture above.
Devilhunter318 - 5/4/2011, 6:02 PM
Grif i love you XD
MoumentheBatman - 5/4/2011, 6:04 PM
@Poseiden: Now I know why and FOR WHOM are dumb movies like Thor and Green Lantern made!

Back to topic: Nothing new so far. No one really cares about these stuff. All such news do is provoke the half-wits to come up with the dumbest assumptions about plot and characters.
Retardo - 5/4/2011, 6:05 PM
Grif fair enough u dont like Catwoman, and the Bane casting threw us all off, but what makes u so certain he's messed up Batman now? I admittedly haven't been too happy with certain things Nolan's done, but so far he hasn't made a single bad movie, and we have very limited info on the Dark Knight Rises, at least wait for some solid facts before u decide to bash this film.

Anyway, personally I think this film is going 2 struggle for dominance at the box office against the Avengers, both r 2 very different kinds of superhero movies with different attractions to them.
MoumentheBatman - 5/4/2011, 6:06 PM
And the series of dumb posts continue, headed by the ever and ever moron Grif and his flunkies!!
MoumentheBatman - 5/4/2011, 6:08 PM
@sup3r: stop wasting your time trying to reason with those who dont use reason.
when The Dark Knight Rises is released its success will make the grifs eat their own shitty comments.
cable23 - 5/4/2011, 6:09 PM
@poseidon Shut up you Marvel [female dog]boy. Cant wait for this movie. Nolan took Batman and completley redifined how the world views Batman. And this movie will not struggle against The Avengers. Everybody and their mother loves Batman and not to mention TDK was the highest grossing film of all time.
SemutA - 5/4/2011, 6:12 PM
Nolan is one of the few the really gets it!!

thtas the spirit, im a comic book reader and i just want a good marvel or dc movie. BATMAN IS ONE OF MY FAVORITES BUT THAT DOESN MEAN I WOLUD LIKE TO SEE OTHER CHARACTER MOVIES
scapegoatjones - 5/4/2011, 6:35 PM
I'm def. looking forward to this movie, cause I'm a huge fan Bats fan.
But I'm still not sold on finishing the series off with a shitty villain like Bane.
"Oh, I wonder what could happen?" What's the point of being secretive about a
movie in which everybody already expects the implied storyline? As if Gimp
has done anything else notable.
scapegoatjones - 5/4/2011, 6:38 PM
People who prefer Bane over other Bats villains that could've allowed Nolan
to utilize the characters creatively are the kind of people who say they like 'all-kinds
of music' but in reality don't really like any.
RyanLantern77 - 5/4/2011, 6:39 PM
I love ya Grif, but you just gotta see something for TDKR before you judge
KilledHal9000 - 5/4/2011, 6:44 PM
You can only truly judge a film by watching it from beginning to end.
AlexDeLarge87 - 5/4/2011, 6:47 PM
cant wait :)
cable23 - 5/4/2011, 6:48 PM
@TheIntruder No one is bowing down to Nolan. Everybody is just expressing how they like both DC and Marvel.

darkclarkkent-LOL That's an awesome gif! :D

Can't wait for TDKR & Superman in 2012. Going to be a good year.
PS3geek1 - 5/4/2011, 7:46 PM
Can't wait for this movie next year.. Trust in Nolan, he has done good so far and interesting to see how he is going to wrap this story up...
flyinggrayson - 5/4/2011, 7:54 PM
TDKR Plot:
Batman goes to India with a small asian kid, and a blonde actress to stop a Thuggee cult from enslaving children. And he beats up Bane. The end.
ironpool007 - 5/4/2011, 7:56 PM
Cool news. And hey look, Grif actually put some thought and effort into his comment than his usual man vs shit video.
TheShadow - 5/4/2011, 7:58 PM
I think TDKR will have awesome advertising and blow the Avengers out of the water.

TDKR will have the highest superhero movie sales of all-time!
NeoBaggins - 5/4/2011, 8:24 PM
runDTC Awesome list. Some times I need a Batman fix and I've missed a lot of stories. I usually don't mind the artist, but the Arkham Asylum art was over-the-top abstract it was hard to get into. But I hear it's a great story. Bruce Wayne murder and fugitive sounds interesting.

Thanks!
SentinelofLiberty - 5/4/2011, 8:48 PM
@neoBaggins, I know you said current stuff, but have you looked at any of the collections from the early days of "Legends of the Dark Knight"? Kind of a Year 1-ish feel to them. My personal favorites were "Gothic," "Prey," and "Venom." And I have a hunch that elements of at least "Prey" and "Venom" will be important in TDKR.
DarrkEvil - 5/4/2011, 8:48 PM
Reboot Grif !!!
Joel9127 - 5/4/2011, 8:55 PM
