Details Revealed For Action Packed Man Of Steel "Smallville" Scenes!

A few new details about some action packed scenes set to take place in Plano, IL have been revealed, including details on soldiers rappelling from helicopters, explosions, shootings and more...

Monica Key has posted some rather interesting information over at Examiner featuring revealing and intriguing new details about the scenes set to be filmed on the "Smallville" Man of Steel set in Plano, IL. According to Plano Area Chamber of Commerce executive Richard Healy, "They're going to be blowing stuff up." Healy also states at some time during the filming soldiers will repel from a helicopter onto the set. Whatever weapons they will be shooting, Healy also added that brass shell casings would be left on the streets.


What do you guys think? Will we see Superman take on the military, or could this have something to do with General Zod attacking Smallville?! We know that Man of Steel will have a large military presence in the form of Harry Lennix's General Swanwick and Chris Meloni's Colonel Hardy, so stay tuned for more information as and when we have it.

Blowing stuff up? Brass shell casings? In Smallville???-- possibly meaning that before he even gets to Metropolis he'll already have seen some action?! Sweeettt.

@PaulRom: Once I read "blowing stuff up", I expected to see at least one Micheal Bay joke. XD

if there are soldiers firing at something/someone in smallville, that could only mean they're up againts general zod and company there...

This brings back some awful memories from some pitiful episodes of Lois & Clark when Smallville was attacked by evil Kryptonians.... shudder...

Keeping my fingers that Man of Steel will be great, though!

my dad's 1970 monte carlo might be one of the vehicles that is being "blown up" with effects. so, there is a little bit of the time frame for the movie.

Action, not like in SR where there was absolutely no dialogue, but I guess it fits in well with the rest of Singers silent movie.
But shit blowing up is always a good thing, cant have too much of that lol

only thing relevant it kinda reveals is a big tornado of some kind to happen in "smallville"

@BaneKill- Rather impressive deduction there. We could be in store for an interesting plot...Zod possibly knowing Superman's secret identity and childhood in Smallville.

Perhaps Zod wants to destroy Superman's childhood memories therefore he'd have nothing left to protect and love. Thus Zod perhaps thinks he could enslave Superman that way?

But I'd also be perfectly happy with this scene revolving around the military attacking Superman. We've already seen the military take on Zod in 'SupermanII' i really don't want another Donner-retread like last time.

Plus the idea of Superman fu*king up some tanks is cool. Obviously he wouldn't hurt the soldiers but imagine Superman bending cannons and smashing tanks...i know very Hulk but meh...at least it's something new for Superman.

So does anyone know if casting is done yet? Seems to be taking forever to finish up. We've already got 11 roles in the film casted- Clark/Superman, Lois, Jonathon, Martha, Jor-El, Lara, Zod, Faora, Gen. Swanwick, Col Hardy and now Perry White.

I'm pretty positive by this point- no Jimmy or Lex.

I hope casting is finished so we can finally get a new Superman already.

Smallville under military fire mixed with a tornado? Sounds like Zod is up to no good.

I imagine that he does not know Superman's true identity but may know somehow that this is the location where Superman's rocket crash landed so he is looking for the Man of Steel at the first logical spot.

Hmmm... looks like a lot more will be happening on Smallville than just a mere tornado.

Maybe Superman is stopping the tornado and then the military uses the tornado as a distraction to try and capture Superman!

But what's with the brass shell castings? Maybe the shells of the missiles that are being shot at Supes through the tanks?

I doubt it would be Zod's ship landing on Smallville. I'm thinking it's definitely the military.
