Despite being in jail, actor Wesley Snipes has revealed that he'd like to return to the vampiric role, while also commenting on the importance of the Blade movies and what would convince him to play the character again...

Talking to IGN Movies from behind bars, Wesley Snips has once again expressed interest in reprising the role of Marvel's Blade. Talking about the importance of the movies in his opinion and what would convince him to come back to the character, here are a few excerpts from the sites interview. Click on the link below to read it in full. With the rights now back in the hands of Disney owned Marvel Studios, I'd say that this is VERY unlikely, but what do you think? Be sure to share your thoughts in the usual place.

"It would be nice to fulfil some of the really cool plans we had for Blade, but didn't get the chance to go live with."

"Some people forget or overlook my/our contribution to this current trend. The 'Gaming' community knows and the streets give us credits, but the movie world frequently plays us like the 'ugly step child' or the 'kitchen help', especially when the conversation revolves around the 'boys in tights' or 'the bat'.

"Getting asked this question all the time, my response is: 'Under the right circumstances, with the right team, yes, I'd do another one.' But don't get me wrong, I'm not waiting around for the opportunity. I've got plenty to do, plus an unravelled character in the works who I think will give Blade a helluva run for his money."

BRING ON BLADE!

Since Marvel will more than likely make their Blade a reboot, I don't see the point of bringing Snipes back. Besides, there's plenty of actors who should have a chance at playing Blade (not saying Snipes wasn't excellent in the role though).

He did good, but I would like to see a version of Blade closer to the comics.

Marvel would use him if given the opportunity. He was a huge part of the first stone set to achieve Marvel Studios. I doubt they would exclude him. Not to mention he is much more affordable.

P.S. I hope we don't get a version closer to the comic. Cause Blade comics are inconsistent and sometimes just awful.

Snipes was awesome as Blade, but I don't know what kind of shape he's in nowadays. If Marvel does reboot and start a new trilogy of Blade, they'd probably be better off to go with someone new as Snipes must be getting up in age, and starring in a new trilogy may not be possible for him at this point.

To reboot this would be a ridiculous mistake. The Blade movie did something that no other CBM has achieved (Although Superman - The Movie and Batman come kind of close), it stays faithful to the comics whilst completely re-inventing the character for the better. The Blade movie is directly responsible for who the character of Blade is today. A reboot is not neccasary, at all. Marvel should just do another Blade film with either Wesley Snipes as Blade or David Goyer on writing duties, to mantain continuity with the New Line trilogy. Obviously, they can't have both. I think that was what Snipes meant, when he said "the right people"> There is no way on this planet that you would get them two together again, in any capacity (with the exception of a courtroom, perhaps).

"Under the right circumstances"? You mean, like, getting paid?

That's what I tell my wife this morning when she woke me up and asked me if I was going to work today. "Under the right circumstances". Morning BJs are great ;)

RamonSuarez-you make a good point and I agree. Snipes was awesome as Blade as I said earlier, and he definitely nailed it. I loved Blade 2, speaking of which, I need to watch that again sometime soon. I haven't watched that in ages.

Snipes was the man. The operative word.."was". I liked Stinky Fingas from Onyx in the short-lived series. And I give Snipes tons of credit for Blade. I loved all the 3 movies. But it's time for another reincarnation or re-imagining of the character. Not too mention, Snipes is kinda played out a lil' bit old for the character now.
