POLL: Which 2013 Superhero Movie Do You Think Will Win The Battle Of The Box Office?

POLL: Which 2013 Superhero Movie Do You Think Will Win The Battle Of The Box Office? POLL: Which 2013 Superhero Movie Do You Think Will Win The Battle Of The Box Office?

There's only three big releases set to hit the big screen in 2013, and it's now time to decide which out of Iron Man 3, Man of Steel and THOR 2 will emerge victorious...

I asked you guys which of the big 2012 releases would be the biggest hit at the box office and The Dark Knight Rises came out on top as the clear winner. When it comes to 2013 though, will the victor emerge with such a huge majority? Well, it's between Iron Man 3 (helmed by Shane Black), Man of Steel (helmed by Zack Snyder) and THOR 2 (helmed by Patty Jenkins). Each of these directors are tackling a superhero movie for the first time apart from Snyder who dabbled in the genre with an adaptation of Watchmen back in 2009. So, which do you guys will end up making the most cash come 2013? The fact is, we know very little about each of these movies right now - two of them aren't even filming yet - but that doesn't mean there's not still room for speculation! Here's your chance to decide...

I think Iron Man 3 has the most potential to be the highest grosser. The first two were huge at the box office, I don't see why 3 won't follow suit.
I think a lot of people were turned off by Superman after Returns ($391 mil worldwide??), though their interest could always change with the MOS trailer.
Thor 2 should do well, the first film got good reviews and was a hit.

Man of Steel because honestly I think people will be a little fatigued of Iron Man. Most were disappointed with the second one, so it will be hard to get those casual fans back.

However, if the Avengers is this huge cultural phenomenon on par with what The Dark Knight was in 2008, than I give it a better shot.

However there are many more superman fans out there that have been clamoring for the kind of movie that Snyder will hopefully be delivering.

I also think Iron Man will be a little over saturated. Being in four films in six years is a bit much, and I think the numbers for the third go around will show that.

Superman is an American icon, that more people are familiar with. Even if it is terrible it will still do pretty well. If it is good it will do amazing.

Well, Synder's only movie I liked was 300. Watchmen wasnt impressive IMO. So, hopefully he pulls a good one with Man of Steel. But I honestly think Thor is gonna have the best reception.

It definitely won't be Man of Steel. The last time we saw the character on the big screen was in 2006. This one will have a much harder job of getting people to see it. If the reviews are truly great, it has a chance for a solid opening and overall gross. Iron Man 3 will be big, probably in the $500M-600M range like previous films. Thor 2 gets my vote for this one. Numbers for the first movie show that people are really interested in the character and I can see it making a lot of money at the box office. Still, it's WAY too early to say anything for sure. A lot of it also depends on the cast, which we no nothing about for Thor 2 for example. As long as every single one makes enough to guarantee sequels, I'll be happy.

I think for some reason Thor 2 is gonna be the better of the 3. The first one was a little underwhelming for my liking, but Im getting a good feeling with a new director, its gonna bring the epicness that was missing from the first one.

@Run DTC - I agree completely.
The only thing that could push MoS to the top in my opinion is marketing, with the tagline involving Christopher Nolan as producer. Also attaching a trailer to TDKR is a must.

Definitively not Thor. Id say Superman, after the piece of crap that came out in 2006. People will want to see this because they want to give Superman another chance. Also it is a reboot, so there there is no reason to why it will be like the last one. More opportunity for it to be good. Iron Man 3 will come very close because, well, he Iron Man. This is the third movie in the franchise. People will ant to see whats next being that the character has already been developed. At the same time Iron Man 2 was a let down so some people might be less pumped to see this one. Also it might have the "third movie curse." Being that the last one was bad, there's no saying that this one will do better.

It's hard to tell since we know nothing about IM3 or Thor 2 yet, but I'm looking forward to all of them.

1. Iron Man 3 - $700 mil
2. Man of Steel - $600 mil
3. Thor 2 - $550 mil

The first trailer for Man of Steel will likely come out with The Dark Knight Rises.
Over the next year, expect WB to play up Nolan's involvement with this film to show the public that it is not connected in anyway to the Singer film. This film has one of the best casts ever in a Superhero film. Names like Amy Adams,Kevin Costner,Diane Lane,Russell Crow and Lawrence Fishburne will assure the general public that this is a quality production. But the biggest selling point for this film are Cavill as Superman and Michael Shannon as Zod. Both of these men are rising actors with stand out performances in Immortals and Broadwalk Empire that lead me to believe their clash on screen will not just be a CGI fest, but an intense emotional performance. Many people will look at Ironman 3 and say "Wasn't Ironman 3 last year when the Avengers came out?"

The Man of Steel for sure. Henry Cavill and Michael Shannon will blow us away with awesomeness. I am not sure about Iron Man 3 and Thor two because both of their directors ditched them.
