James Holmes Murder trial updates!

Since the Dark Knight Rises theater shooting, we haven't heard much about accused murderer James Holmes, however after extensive search on the net, I have discovered a few updates from the October 11th hearing.

James Holmes and his attorney went before a judge at an Aurora Colorado court house on October 11, 2012 after the defense attorney raised claims of the government violating a gag order placed by the judge. The first motion, claimed that a recent mug shot of Holmes (above) was released to the media by the Sheriff's Department.In a second motion, defense requested a hearing regarding media leaks due to a package containing a notebook sent from Holmes to his Therapist, being released to the media which contained writings and drawings of the theater shooting. Holmes attorneys have stated that they believe he is mentally ill but he has yet to enter a plea. According to abcnews.com.






Also according to ABC News, a mediator overseeing the $5 million in contributions has stated that the majority of the money will be split between the families of the murdered victims and those who sustained permanent injuries. The Mediator stated that those victims will receive about $200,000 each based upon current donations. The remainder will go to those who received physical injury based on the number of days they were hospitalized and that they want each victim to receive the money before Thanksgiving. Due to limited funds, money will not be given to victims who didn't stay overnight in the hospital or to people claiming mental trauma. You can read the full story and others at the address below.

I wish death penalties matched what the murderer did. Example: Put him in a movie theater and spray him with bullets.

Mentally ill or not, people are dead and families will never be the same again. He put a lot of planning into what he did in a sick attempt to get his fifteen minutes. Put him down or lock him in a hole with no connection to the outside world. Best punishment for his type is to think everyone has forgot about what he did, like he never even existed.

I don't even see how its at all possible to argue in his defense. Sane or insane what he did was a extremely terrible thing and he deserves an punishment of extreme proportions

@ Asterisk- no this happened over the summer during opening night of The Dark Knight Rises. I know it does seem like a long time ago being that it hasn't been all over the news or internet, but yeah.

@zachman2013 - oh, i get ya. sometimes i feel like there needs to be a real punisher out there. maybe the rest of his life in solitary will make him feel like he wants to die, which i think would be a fitting way to spend the next 50 or 60 years or so :)

Makes sense my only quirey was in the act of the family killing him and throwing their lives away. Him getting hanged or fried would achieve the same thing and the family could carry on with their lives, though of course anyone would love to get their own hands on somebody like this.

Let's say they do to him the worst thing you can think of to do to him. . . will you feel better? And, not being directly connected to anyone who experienced this event, should you feel as strongly about it as you do?
