Somebody Somewhere must know something about NAMOR

They say no news is good news but not in this case.
It's been a long time since we have heard anything about a possible Namor Film. It previously had two release dates, but none of them ever materialized. I'm a massive fan of Namor and all that he brings to the table. I'd personally love to see him feature with the Fantastic Four. As Fox holds the rights for them, then I assume they would have to be involved with Namor. Not much is coming out of the Fox camp apart from reboots. We have a perfectly good character here that could help revitalize the FF at the same time. I would also imagine graphically this film would be amazing.

Dude i love Namor too. He's the biggest bad ass of the sea. I was excited when i heard the guy from angel was going to be him and it sounded like the ball was rolling but then it stopped. It would also be cool to see him with the FF but with a new cast of FF.

VIN DIESEL KNOWS!!! ; D

FOX don't have NAMOR?? MARVEL STUDIOS does otherwise why would MARVEL be talking about a trilogy????

Which would be best, let FOX make their SILVER SURFER movie!!! Taking long enough!
LEEE777 - 8/6/2009, 11:42 AM
i just dont see his as a namor. I think Zachary Quinto would make a good namor...similar to is spock look
marcolanni - 8/6/2009, 11:52 AM
what about hugo weaving as namor?
NJdevil12 - 8/6/2009, 12:07 PM
Steven Segal would have made a great namor in his day...defo got the look
marcolanni - 8/6/2009, 12:53 PM
namor has to be played by an actor that has the Namor face.
Vin Diesel cant do it because, he might be cocky, but he cannot have that arrogant loathing "I can crush you like THAT!" face.
Segal's too much of a calm fighter even if he has the hair and eyebrows. He is also too old.
I would recommend Jason Isaacs. He might be a little older than your average hero, Namor is. If you have ever watched a Harry Potter movie or THE Patriot with Mel Gibson you know what I mean by arrogance.
I would 100% back Isaacs for the role of Namor.
Wadey09 - 8/6/2009, 3:02 PM
Oh and Jason Isaacs is 46 while Segal is 57 if anyone wants to debate about age.

isaccs is a gr8 choice...but zach quinto, jim caviezel and a gym-going ralph fiennes are all super awesome candidates for namor...if they made his movie i'm sure they'd get one of these gr8 actors to portray him...
i'd love for him to have a cameo at the end of capn america first avenger, which sees him hand off the cap iceberg to fury/stark...possibly hinting to a future appearance in an avengers film...cuz with hulk, ultron as the villains i think will be tackled first....it's nice to have a namor lurking around with no clear-cut sides

Id be happy just to hear there working on it....not heard a peep from anyonr
marcolanni - 8/6/2009, 6:13 PM
Namor would be great to see,but please not with the current FF roster.
BLADE4040 - 8/6/2009, 6:41 PM
no doubt that ralph fiennes is a great actor. he is one of the extremely spare few actors in the world who could have brought voldemort to life on the silver screen.
I have only seen a couple of quinto films and he is good too. I would more put his name in than Fiennes. He has the build, facial, structure, and possibly the acting chops. But I beleive he does not have the presence of Namor.
When people saw Namor, when I saw Namor, we all thought, "Dude, this guy looks ticked." Next I thought about how he can easily thwart the Fantastic Four and Iron Man just because he lost control of his temper for a tiny moment.
It reminds me of quinto's peformance of Spock in star trek. If the movie delves deep into Namor's past, I feel Mr. Quinto has every right to man that ship.
But I believe that Namor needs to be older and more mature in present day Marvel.

Jason Behr for Namor..

:)
teabag - 8/7/2009, 10:35 AM
teabag-Never heard of this dude. What's he been in? From this picture he doesn't really strike me as having the right look (regal, intense, and pissed off).
MatchesMalone - 8/7/2009, 11:12 AM
Let's go with the ROCK he'd make a great Namor or the guy that played Spock IN THE STAR TREK movie. Bulk THAT GUY UP A LITTLE BIT HE MIGHT WORK IF THE ROCK DOESNT WORKOUT. THAT STAR TREK movie was great by the way...but yea how about those two.
BLADE4040 - 8/7/2009, 11:53 AM
Zachary Quinto it is then.......arent many who have his stone faced look and still at a good age to do namor...get some roids in him!

Not sure i could take the rock seriously
love to see him link up with the invisible woman...then again so would he!
Aparently Jonathan Mostow is directing it but not sure how current that is...seem to be playing pass the parcel with this film
Where would be start aboout posing the question to Jonathan Mostow??
marcolanni - 8/7/2009, 12:26 PM
Matches@ he was in Roswell the series plus a few low budget movies....i just think he's a better choice than vin diesel, heres another pic from skinwalkers....

:)
teabag - 8/7/2009, 4:17 PM
behr can defn look it..he has the ears...but i think if i were to guess who would have the kingly presence on-screen...it would be quinto...esp after his spock gig...of course fiennes can act the hell outta namor...so i think some steroids and gym..and prosthetic ears would make fiennes a brilliant pick too
Anil Rickly - 8/7/2009, 4:27 PM
looks like Namor is still a work in progress with Jonathan Mostow. I phoned up his office today to see if i could gather some info. Their going to get him or his assistant to call me so i can get some questions answered...ill keep you posted
marcolanni - 8/7/2009, 5:21 PM
While I vote 'no' for a solo endeavor, I would give a resounding 'HELL YES!' in favor of introducing and using him in a Fantastic Four movie to establish him best. Namor is awesome, being Marvel's First Mutant and all.
TheMyth - 8/8/2009, 2:23 AM
teabag-Thanks:) I can see it a little more with this pic. Was Skinwalkers any good? Never saw it. I loooovvvve werewolves but I was a little unsure of this flick.

p.s. Vin Diesel sucks!
MatchesMalone - 8/8/2009, 10:41 AM
I love Namor as well ,but you see what happen matching Silver Surfer with the FF. If any movie needs a reboot and re-cast it's the FF. Namor would do fine by himself or introduce him with the new CAPT.AMERICA movie. Set in the 1940's when Capt underwent the super-solider program for the war.. show how that war effects ATLANTIS causing NAMOR to get involved. Im no writer ,but something along that line ...just not with the current FF.
BLADE4040 - 8/8/2009, 12:00 PM
im sure ill be getting feedback from the horses mout in the next few days

Keep an eye out

Marco

Matches@ Im a big Werewolf movie fan and there are some crap ones out there..Skinwalkers is a fairly good one...bit wobly to begin with but i did enjoy it...the fx were done by Stan Winstons company and it shows . i just think this guy would do a great job and if you see Skinwalkers you will see he is built to play namor (abs that put reynolds to shame) plus Rhona Mitra os in it and i lyuuuv her :P
teabag - 8/8/2009, 1:18 PM
the next ff4 should be a cosmic film with the ff4 and franklin richards gettin sucked into a kree/inhuman alliance vs galactus...maybe the silver surfer can finally do himself some justice in this film...with franklin richards being the star and the pivot of the film...got this down in my fan fic as well...soon to post
Anil Rickly - 8/8/2009, 6:03 PM
