Enver Gjokaj

After appearing as "young cop" in The Avengers, Enver Gjokaj will return to the Marvel Universe, this time with a much larger role in the upcoming Agent Carter tv series. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Gjokaj will play Agent Daniel Sousa, who "will meet Carter while she takes on a new role at the pre-SHIELD Strategic Scientific Reserve in New York City." Apparently the show will be set seven years after the events of Captain America: The First Avenger, and will focus on Peggy Carter as she struggles to adapt to life after losing Steve Rogers, all the while carrying out "secret missions" for Howard Stark. Gjokai is best known for playing Victor in Joss Whedon's Dollhouse, but he's also appeared in the likes of The Walking Dead, Dexter and Witches of East End. Captain America: Winter Soldier directors Anthony and Joe Russo will helm episodes two and three of the series, with the first film's director Joe Johnson rumoured to return to helm ep 4.

UPDATE: Marvel now also report that Chad Michael Murray (Fruitvale Station, One Tree Hill) has been cast in the role of SSR Agent Jack Thompson. They've also released the official synopsis for the show.

Marvel's Agent Carter," starring "Captain America's" Hayley Atwell, follows the story of Peggy Carter. It's 1946, and peace has dealt Peggy Carter a serious blow as she finds herself marginalized when the men return home from fighting abroad. Working for the covert SSR (Strategic Scientific Reserve), Peggy must balance doing administrative work and going on secret missions for Howard Stark all while trying to navigate life as a single woman in America, in the wake of losing the love of her life--Steve Rogers.

I guess he's not playing the ancestor of the cop in avengers
Gusto - 8/29/2014, 9:30 AM
Is it this guy?

Kyos - 8/29/2014, 9:30 AM
This guy was probably my favourite thing about Dollhouse (apart from Alan Tudyk's appearances). I remember him being really likable and talented, and I think I haven't seen him in anything ever after Dollhouse.

So yeah, glad he's in the MCU now! (didn't notice he was in Avengers)
RextheKing - 8/29/2014, 9:31 AM
Either I'm blind as [frick] or his young cop character in Avengers was so small I didn't even notice him.
RextheKing - 8/29/2014, 9:32 AM
@Kyos Top her was my favorite character.
RextheKing - 8/29/2014, 9:33 AM
@Kyos *Topher
[frick]ing autocorrect.
SuperCat - 8/29/2014, 9:35 AM

LOL!! @ gusto
CherryBomb - 8/29/2014, 9:36 AM
Oh so he was in Avengers but is now a new character?
Maybe we can get Amanda Righetti as Jessica Jones then!

MercwithMouth - 8/29/2014, 9:36 AM
I still am having a hard time getting excited for this show. Maybe show Hayley Atwell cleavage pics will help.
AsgardianHobo - 8/29/2014, 9:36 AM
I'm guessing he's the young cop that's talking to the older one when Cap tells them to clear the block
NovaCorpsFan - 8/29/2014, 9:37 AM
I'm gonna go ahead and say [frick] yes despite never seeing her in anything.
AsgardianHobo - 8/29/2014, 9:38 AM
Or set a perimeter, I don't remember. It's been awhile

AsgardianHobo - 8/29/2014, 9:46 AM
n/m, just put a bag on widow and you're good
Haltiamieli - 8/29/2014, 9:46 AM
"Apparently the show will be set seven years after the events of Captain America: The First Avenger" ... Where did that come from? All the news are still talking about 1946, roughly a year after the end of CA:TFA.
yossarian - 8/29/2014, 9:49 AM
Yeah. I mean...hmmm....bag on the head I guess.
sKeemAn - 8/29/2014, 9:53 AM
I dont remember him in Avengers
AsgardianHobo - 8/29/2014, 9:55 AM
Marvel's The Avengers: Trading Places

While Thor is rediscovering himself, Black Widow can't resist her urges for Hawkeye. Poor Hawkeye
InfiniteMonkey - 8/29/2014, 9:55 AM
No one remembers this bloke in the Avengers at all!

He's probably a toilet clearer off in the distance.
CherryBomb - 8/29/2014, 9:55 AM
Amanda Righetti was at the end of Captain America

Kyos - 8/29/2014, 9:58 AM

Yeah, Topher was fun as well. Wasn't there an episode in which Gjokaj's character (Victor?) was uploaded with Topher's personality? That shit was hilarious! :D
AsgardianHobo - 8/29/2014, 9:58 AM
Here he is

AsgardianHobo - 8/29/2014, 10:03 AM
he actually had a line right before this vid starts, but ya
sKeemAn - 8/29/2014, 10:15 AM

Ok I remember now. Short term was getting to me. Thnx

Wow she's a knockout.
csullivan02914 - 8/29/2014, 10:26 AM
Yeah there's a lot of weirdness with the dates they've been mentioning. Seven years seems excessive. I'm betting it's seven months. Although I think they should go for something like 4 years. That way it would be 1950. A new decade beginning, the Cold War going into full swing, communist China in place, and the war in Korea just kicking in. That would be a fun backdrop to set it in.
Theace69 - 8/29/2014, 10:37 AM
Hey that's Britta's Boyfriend from Community. He's a war criminal.
ComicsBornAndBred - 8/29/2014, 10:37 AM
@csullivan02914 They just said it was 1946...
SauronsBANE - 8/29/2014, 10:41 AM
"Amanda Righetti was at the end of Captain America"

I'm pretty sure I'm the only person who thought that was Scarlett Johannson dressed pin-up style when I first saw that. It would've been another cool cameo at the end of The First Avenger...but I guess it makes sense that Black Widow would be off doing more important things, rather than trying to fool Steve haha.
NovaCorpsFan - 8/29/2014, 10:55 AM
Well then, I suppose it'd make total sense for her to show up in AoS. Dunno about bringing her all the way back to 1946 though.
Reasonnnn - 8/29/2014, 11:11 AM
@Theace69 LMAO that episode
RetroFit - 8/29/2014, 11:11 AM
Agent Jack Thompson! YES!!!!!!!!

Gusto - 8/29/2014, 11:25 AM
Chazz Michael Michaels is awesome!
CherryBomb - 8/29/2014, 11:28 AM

Nooo I mean I want Amanda to be recast as Jessica Jones for the Netflix show
jackmamma - 8/29/2014, 12:13 PM
The fact that the current directors of captain america and the previous director are all directing an episode or two has been excited for this show. The casting is excellent
McGee - 8/29/2014, 12:33 PM

What next? Agent Coulson gets his own series?
Dunejedi - 8/29/2014, 12:39 PM
Just announce Tommy Lee Jones already! He did a fantastic job in First Avenger and his character was a founder of the SSR. It wouldn't make sense for him to be absent.
JohnCarter - 8/29/2014, 1:16 PM

Amanda Righetti was at the end of Captain America and on The Mentalist for years.

"Apparently the show will be set seven years after the events of Captain America: The First Avenger" ... Where did that come from? All the news are still talking about 1946, roughly a year after the end of CA:TFA.

1946 I think was for the one shot. The actual Agent Carter TV show I think takes place years after Howard Stark hires her.
