POLL/DISCUSSION: Oscar Issac's 'En Sabah Nur' Look For X-MEN: APOCALYPSE POLL/DISCUSSION: Oscar Issac's 'En Sabah Nur' Look For X-MEN: APOCALYPSE

Earlier today we got our first look at Oscar Isaac as the titular villain of Bryan Singer's X-Men: Apocalypse. Reactions were decidedly mixed, but there's no denying he is a pretty accurate translation of the comic character. What did you think? Click to have your say...

Most fans were delighted with the majority of the officially released X-Men: Apocalypse stills today; Storm, Psylocke, Magneto - all went over very well. Apocalypse himself however... not so much. Some loved his look, some applauded the efforts to adapt the comic character as closely as possible, but still felt they didn't quite get there. Others just flat-out hated it.

Several fan-manips of the images soon followed and it is hard to argue with how much better they seem to be - but it's important to remember that the initial reactions to the first glimpses of these type of characters almost always change when people get a bit more used to them, and see them in action. Plus, he is being played by a damn fine actor at the end of the day. Vote in the poll and then be sure to elaborate in the usual place.

It's a decent attempt to translate the character to the screen, but he looks a bit silly.

Maybe I have low standards.

Oscar Issac is a great actor no doubt. He can no doubt own it as Apocalypse and he got into X-Men around the time of Apocalypse's first appearance I believe.

It's Fox so don't expect faithful designs.

But is this so hard?

This is why I don't like you Singer. You try way to [frick]ing hard. Whedon made Thanos look like Thanos. Think everybody can agree Snyder can make Darkseid look like Darkseid.

It's better than Webb's shitfest Kid Goblin but then again what just about anything is better than TASM films.

Thanos looked like a giant purple cartoon penis in all of his movie appearances. He does look exactly as he does in the comics, yes... shite.

Technically speaking on a technical level in which I am speaking, I don't think making Apocalypse grey would be visually exceptional. Technically speaking of course.

It's a faithful design some-what, just a bad case of Singer-itis. His stature and voice is compelling, and I like that it breaks all the rules of what's stereotypical coming from the biggest baddies of them all.

I can dig Brolin as Thanos but I always wanted Bill Nighy. I adore his performance as Davy Jones, and it's because of the Silver Surfer cartoon I imagine him with a much more gentle voice with inflection.

Oh yeah, umm wicked design for Apocalypse.

I hope this isn't his final look. He looks like an amalgamation of Ronan and the Anti-Monitor.

It looks good but it could look better... I kinda wish they'd gone the mo-cap route.

Psylocke and Magneto look perfect to me, Storm looks great, Apocalypse's armor looks cool, it's just that face...

Psylocke looks pretty spectacular but wtf? I feel like they could have beefed up Apocalypse bit. Minimum. But Ya, not a fan.

I'd probably like it more if he was gray with blue lips like he was in the DOFP credits scene

I'm just glad they stayed away from mo-cap. He does look a bit silly, but I'd rather he looked like a silly live action character than a silly cartoon.

What I dont like is the fact that Storm looks taller than Apocalypse. In the comic world, Apocalypse is atleast 7 ft. and 400 lbs. That is someone to be feared. This movie he looks like a magical creature that brings sunshine. I will admit that he looks better on the "Entertainment Magazine." Also, I hate to make it a racial thing, but what color is he. Is he purple or blue. I thought the dude was grey! What's up Marvel/Fox/Singer/Isaac????????????????

@OmegaDaGr0dd

That's what I'm hoping as well. They did make it a point to say that Apocalypse can change size and manipulate the molecules in his body so...

It looks fine, could be better. He looks a bit weird on the cover, but the other pictures he looks better. I need to see him in action before I decide.

I do hope he gets bigger later on. We'll see
