Marvel’s The Avengers cast mates Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Samuel L. Jackson, Jeremy Renner and Mark Ruffalo will present together on the Oscar stage, show producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron announced today. Shame they couldn't nab Scarlett Johansson and Chris Hemsworth to complete the lineup, but I guess that is an awful lot of mic time to share around! No word on which award the team will present, but here is what we do know thanks to an official press release.

“We are happy to re-unite the Avengers cast to present on our show,” said Craig Zadan and Neil Meron. “Audiences who enjoyed the year’s biggest box office hit will be excited to see these terrific actors back together again.”

Downey has twice been nominated for an Oscar, for his leading role in Chaplin (1992) and for his supporting role in Tropic Thunder (2008).

Evans, who will be making his first Oscar show appearance, will be seen in the upcoming The Iceman.

Jackson was nominated in 1994 for his supporting role in Pulp Fiction. He can also be seen in this year’s Best Picture nominee Django Unchained.

Renner was nominated for his leading role in 2009 Best Picture winner The Hurt Locker and for his supporting role in The Town (2010). Renner had roles in this year’s The Bourne Legacy and Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol (2011).

Ruffalo received his first nomination for his supporting role in 2010 Best Picture nominee The Kids Are All Right.

Oscars® for outstanding film achievements of 2012 will be presented on Oscar Sunday, February 24, at the Dolby Theatre™ at Hollywood & Highland Center®, and will be hosted by Seth MacFarlane live on the ABC Television Network. The Oscar presentation also will be televised live in more than 225 countries worldwide.

DrDoom - 2/6/2013, 8:29 AM
Guys, c'mon. We all know Thor can't get back because the Bifrost was destroyed, Odin is out of dark energy, and Loki stole the Cosmic Cube again after they returned to Asgard at the end of Avengers. It only makes sense.
ATrueHero1987 - 2/6/2013, 8:29 AM
That is cool.

@JCameron Aye, we get it, you don't like The Avengers. No need to post it in every article. You keep this up, they will ban you.

ATrueHero1987 - 2/6/2013, 8:58 AM
@yossarian Exactly! I got reported by him too...and it was just regular pics!smh.

@jCameron Look. You got you opinions, that's cool. That being said, some of the statements you made in this article & in other articles, you're either trying to start trouble or you come off as trying to start trouble. Seriously, why bring up MCU in a article about Doc Ock & TASM??
RedSkull667 - 2/6/2013, 9:06 AM
@jCameron lol, Butthurt much?
RedSkull667 - 2/6/2013, 9:07 AM

And what you are doing is an example of being stupid.
ATrueHero1987 - 2/6/2013, 9:09 AM
@jCameron "fellow Marvel fanboys"

Anyway, I've called out other people before to. Even when talking about in TDKR in an unrelated article.

"Because... That's how I feel"
So you FEEL like starting trouble? Alright...
MrEko - 2/6/2013, 9:10 AM
Why Cipher.... Why???

What the hell was up with those 70s & 80s cats looking like real hot chicks. Bowie, Boy George, Marilyn even [frick]ing Prince. Most have been one sexy confusing period.
superotherside - 2/6/2013, 9:18 AM
Well, with them in it, I may actually watch the Oscars. :P
ATrueHero1987 - 2/6/2013, 9:27 AM

rockerdude22 - 2/6/2013, 9:31 AM
@cipher LOL such as classic Carlin routine! I heard that for the first time in one of my college classes. Everyone was laughing out loud!

Anyway, cool to see the Avengers cast present at the Oscars! Shame they couldn't get Scarlett and Chris H., though.
rockerdude22 - 2/6/2013, 9:32 AM
AC1 - 2/6/2013, 9:33 AM
Damn it, Cipher, why'd you have to bring that up? I almost forgot about that picture, you've ruined Scarlett Johanson for me again now...
AC1 - 2/6/2013, 9:41 AM
@jCameron if you're serious, then it's probably because Michael Bay is one of the crudest people in Hollywood- always resorting not only to sexualize every female character in any of his movies (who are somehow always less than one dimensional), his disregard of plot coherence, his inability to portray a remotely interesting story, his reliance on the worst kind of humour imaginable (see the 'robot testicles' line from Transformers 2, or the twin autobots who are clearly a racist caricature, whether he intended them to be so or not); Michael Bay's movies are incredibly stupid, and consist mainly of terrible, crude jokes, explosions and pointless action, very little plot, and attempts to offend pretty much anyone who isn't a white male.

I can understand the comparisons to Transformers that Avengers gets - they do have a heavy reliance on effects and action - but Avengers at least has plot coherence, some fairly clever humour, no pointless attempts to offend anyone, and some very good acting. Avengers at the very least has heart, that undefinable quality that makes you care, whereas all of Michael Bay's movies are completely pointless, and his idea of plot seems to be trying to push the story towards the next explosion.
Squish - 2/6/2013, 9:56 AM
@jcameron = child seeking attention. Why don't you walk upstairs and talk to mommy? You're living in her basement still right?
Kyos - 2/6/2013, 10:15 AM
Haha, you guys are funny! :D
Squish - 2/6/2013, 10:36 AM
@jcameron - I can't stand people like you. You're like the skid mark of society. You join a comicbookmovie website and come here soley for the purpose to bash the Avengers. Are you mentally ill? Why are you so envious of such a great movie? What makes you wake up in the morning and force you to come on this site and bash a good thing? Do you have a job and or girlfriend? Apparently not! You need some seriously help my friend. You clearly have a chemical imbalance or a social issue that motivates you to post here like an ignorant attention grabbing child. It's time to grow up. Maybe you should see a psychiatrist and start motivating yourself to become a better person. I don't feel bad for you.
TheIconicMan - 2/6/2013, 10:51 AM
How about Scarlett Johansson? Where is my love?
Maxi91291 - 2/6/2013, 11:58 AM
Sweeet !
Fogs - 2/6/2013, 12:12 PM
@jCameron - Out of curiosity, which comicbook movies aren't "fun and dumb" in your opinion?

I think I could guess it.
DukeAcureds - 2/6/2013, 12:14 PM
It'd be good if they appeared in an opening montage (McFarlane better not pass up the opportunity to use his skills for an opening montage).
marvel72 - 2/6/2013, 2:34 PM
of course they should be at the oscars.
