Could We See "Doombots" In FANTASTIC FOUR?

We recently learned that British actor Toby Kebbell would (most likely) play Victor von Doom in Josh Trank's upcoming Fantastic Four reboot, and now Nerdist report that the villain will have some help battling Marvel's first family..

Nerdist reckons Josh Trank's Fantastic Four reboot will see Toby Kebbell's Doctor Doom build himself a bit of help to take on Mr. F, Thing, Torch and Invisible Woman. In their latest edition of Nerdist News, the site report that "Doombots will definitely be in the film, in the form of drones that the good doctor controls telekinetically."  Here's the vid.

Even if you're not a reader of Fantastic Four comics, it should be fairly obvious what Doombots are: robot version of Doctor Doom! They began as exact replicas of the villain in the early issues, but have taken various forms over the years so who knows how they'll be depicted in the movie. We'll have to take this as a rumor for now of course, but it makes sense that Doom would need some help going up against the FF, and it gives The Thing something to clobber too. What do you think?

Why wouldn't we?
anthonyEstark - 4/3/2014, 7:57 AM
That'd be pretty cool. Not a huge fan of the actor for Doom, but sounds good!
CorndogBurglar - 4/3/2014, 7:58 AM
@ Pasto

Did you not see the last 2 F4 movies that didn't have a single Doombot in either of them even though both movies featured Dr. Doom in them?
EdgyOutsider - 4/3/2014, 7:59 AM
I still argue that, Doctor Doom is the greatest super villain ever (although not my favorite). That being said, I'm really digging the Josh Trank version of, The Fantastic Four. You have a great director, a decent writer and a pretty good cast. More of a Sci-Fi movie than the previous films and we'll possibly be getting, Doombots. That'll draw comparison to Ultron's army in Age of Ultron but, who cares? I am for the time being in the belief that this movie is going to kick ass.

Interesting, hope this film turns out well! Always like Doom as a villain, hope they treat him right! Doombots could work well on screen, shame he's not in the MCU, but oh well

DCMarvelFreshman - 4/3/2014, 8:08 AM
More robots, yay!
Gusto - 4/3/2014, 8:10 AM
Pffft...bring 'em on!

Avaliss66 - 4/3/2014, 8:13 AM
I was wondering what ever happened to Jessica Chobot, she's still fine. As far as Doom Bots go, as long as Dr. Doom is ruthless I'll be a a happy camper.

"Doombots will definitely be in the film, in the form of drones"

Kind of like Batman in BvS, lame, I want to see Doombots, not drones.
Doopie - 4/3/2014, 8:21 AM
a robot army is pretty handy for a film as it gives lots of things to smash up in action sequences but means no-one has to die. handy but not great
LeroyJenkins - 4/3/2014, 8:27 AM
oh man not another swarm of something produced or gathered by the main villain ? yawn
TheRationalNerd - 4/3/2014, 8:28 AM
I think Doom's telekinetic control over the bots would be pretty interesting. In Iron Man 1 we didn't see drones flying everywhere so it's highly possible these could be prototypes of what will be tweaked later.
Tevii - 4/3/2014, 8:28 AM
I dont know about Doombots, but I know its a doomed film
MisterHolmes - 4/3/2014, 8:29 AM
when in doubt, make a robot army.... yawn
Bored..bored…bored. And I don’t want to clean or do homework!
Nomis - 4/3/2014, 8:31 AM
Doom has actually have telekinetic powers in the comics before, but I not sure it was to control his Doombots.
ComicsBornAndBred - 4/3/2014, 8:33 AM
This would be great. Sounds like we are getting a definitive Doctor Doom. Now, all we need is for him to be a dangerous despot and ruler of Latveria who dabbles in the dark arts and fringe science.
ComicsBornAndBred - 4/3/2014, 8:35 AM
I hope this film is sci fit heavy and deals a lot with fringe science. It probably will take from the ultimate version a little bit. I'd love to see the F4 being considered as weapons by the government or a think tank but they just want to be on their own.
BlackIceJoe - 4/3/2014, 8:35 AM
Well that could be great to see. I personally wish that Dr. Doom wasn't the villain for this movie. Have him being the villain but working from behind the scenes I would have preferred more. But Dr. Doom is one of my favorite villains. So hopefully he is given Justice this time around. I just am saddened I will never see a fight between Dr. Doom and Hulk. I loved those two going at it in the comics.
Doopie - 4/3/2014, 8:39 AM
i just want them to make doom the total badass that he is. say what you want about the other two films (ie they're shit) but at least the FF each got a moment or two of being like themselves. doom did not get this. he was horribly miscast and poorly written.

i hope kebbell can do it well. he is a great actor so that's in his favour
gambgel - 4/3/2014, 8:45 AM
multiple Doctor dooms? oh my god, is this Ironman 3 again or what?
grif - 4/3/2014, 8:46 AM
another movie trying to capitalize on ironman
Jwe75 - 4/3/2014, 8:47 AM
Bring em on! and this time make DOOM right and powerful ;)
SkipKahless - 4/3/2014, 8:48 AM
Is he the ruler of latveria or a k mart donald trump wannabe? I would really like to see doom in the mcu, would be soooo good.
cipher - 4/3/2014, 8:48 AM
Gprez2020 - 4/3/2014, 8:50 AM
Idc if he can control drones with telekinesis. I just don't want Dr. Doom to have hooves.
MsDarkPhoenix - 4/3/2014, 8:52 AM
Lol @ciph what the hell?? :P
GeekyCheekyChic - 4/3/2014, 8:56 AM
only robot I want to see:
Inhuman - 4/3/2014, 8:57 AM
This movie is gonna suck big time #[frick]fox
Ceejay - 4/3/2014, 9:00 AM
Doombots in a movie made by Dumbots?

The casting has killed any interest in paying to see this movie regardless what expense they put into its onscreen spectacle. My only intrigue remains to see how badly it flops if it does.

BubblesShedAndBreakfast - 4/3/2014, 9:03 AM
I wonder if Doom will have a cool voice this time. I wasn't to keen on the voice in the last two movies. The voice from the 90's movie was better haha
JoJo1982 - 4/3/2014, 9:06 AM
I'm cool with the doom bots

But I hope we have more than just one villain in this movie

What happen to the whole annihilus thing
Doopie - 4/3/2014, 9:06 AM
JoJo1982

the other villain is FOX
JoJo1982 - 4/3/2014, 9:07 AM
But doom bots can be cool something to really show the FF powers at work

Something that was missing big time in previous 2 movies
MrSotoMan - 4/3/2014, 9:09 AM
Wow really....that's at least a bit refreshing.
MrSotoMan - 4/3/2014, 9:12 AM
At least they are exploring an actual power from the comics. All we need is some pictures.....and confirmation that this is being filmed.
QuestiontheAnswer - 4/3/2014, 9:23 AM
What does the Fox say? Here's your [frick]ed up CBM that will be worse than Green Lantern.
Mastyrwerk - 4/3/2014, 9:23 AM
The hype of this movie is building to unrealistic standards. Too many rumors and bullshit floating around.

Does anybody actually want this movie to happen?

Fantastic Four is my favorite comic and I am in no way interested in seeing this movie.
sKeemAn - 4/3/2014, 9:30 AM
They need to make Dr. Doom the real villain that he is. He is arguably Marvels greatest villain and the movies have made him a pantywaist.
TheBeard - 4/3/2014, 9:31 AM
why won't this die already
m0th3r - 4/3/2014, 9:31 AM
@Masty I think a few people really do..very few. A larger number of positive responses are simply trolls or "Fox-jerkers" having fun...the vast majority dont want it and will dog it until it dies..."not a dime" is my motto..

When the scrape rumor was out there even Jon Campea on AMC Movie talk said he was "SHOCKED" at the level of celebration at the news that Fox cancelled it. I am surprised you do not have actors bailing due to possible blowback to career...
