Extended GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY TV Spot (No New Footage)

This new tv spot for the Marvel space adventure was shown during the MTV Movie Awards, and is basically just an edited down version of the first trailer. Still, any excuse to see Groot, Gamora, Rocket and pals again!

This I hope will be the number one movie this year!!!

Hard to beat WINTER SOLDIER though, but come on! :P

Even though I wish they'd show some new action packed footage, it is an extremely smart idea to show the rap scene in TV Spots. Since the General Audience doesn't know much about them, they'll be more interested if they knew a bit more about the Guardians.

This movie is going to kill it. It's got the potential.

Sees article title and quickly clicks link. Sees "(No New Footage)" out of the corner of eye and bows head in disappointment.
MrCBM56 - 4/15/2014, 5:17 AM
This was basically the second half of the trailer. Yawn.
TheAbomination - 4/15/2014, 5:18 AM

it'll take a lot for any comic book movie to be better than the winter soldier this year, this is my most anticipated comic book movie of 2014.
MercwithMouth - 4/15/2014, 5:43 AM
I want it now...

How to convince your girlfriends to see GotG with you:

"No New Footage"? -_-

This movie got its work cut out with me. It drove me from impartial to turn me off after that 1st trailer. Even this song's appeal has worn off by now.
Ipitythefool - 4/15/2014, 7:41 AM
@soforizo... Don't see it then. Your lose.
soforizo - 4/15/2014, 8:12 AM

I won't likely see it in theaters. I'll eventually see it though (as I do most cbms).
TheOracularNerd - 4/15/2014, 8:17 AM
It's gonna make more than The Winter Soldier that's for sure. lol
Melkaticox - 4/15/2014, 8:40 AM
@BlackNerd Doubt it.

I can't wait for the second trailer! So many things to be excited for this year...Nintendo's E3, Cap 2's DVD release, Guardians of the Galaxy, SDCC ♥

soforizo-actually ,people are still playing that song so idk what u are talking about,i know u were worried about it looking like a parody but i think gunn said u will see alittle more of the drama and scope of the movie in the next trailer
Pasto - 4/15/2014, 9:35 AM
The hell is the point of an extended TV spot if there is no new footage?
Pasto - 4/15/2014, 9:36 AM
Godzilla is going to be the film of 2014. Everyone is going to remember the king.

About the song... I wasn't pretending to speak for the feelings of an entire population. It's worn off for me, but saying "for me" in this sense would've been redundant. I've known it since the Comic Con trailer first leaked. It's played out for me; that doesn't mean it becomes a bad song, but it doesn't stick with me anymore.

While I'm not a fan of the tone, fans of the comics feel it's a good adaptation, so it's good they're getting it. If future trailers somehow impress me then maybe I'll catch it sooner, but I'm not there now (I'm very skeptical that I would ever be, but I'll watch the movie regardless).

soforizo-thats fine man, hey i think this film will be mixed, i think it has a tone that might not gel with some people
soforizo - 4/15/2014, 11:16 AM

As long as GOTG stays true to what you fans wanted to see, it's all good. My view is that if as a fan you like a movie and it makes enough money to get sequels, it doesn't matter what other people think. Trying to appeal to everybody sometimes lessens the product.

For example, while I enjoy the new Star Trek, I still miss and enjoyed more the old geeky movies and TV series (the original, Next Gen, even Enterprise). So while I am on the other side on the fence on this one, I can sympathize with those who love the tone. Hope you love the movie (that's what is most important), maybe I'll like it in the end too.

I think GOTG will be the Marvel Studios movie that critics Crap all over mainly because they just won't get it. It will also be a hard sell in that August release slot. I know i'll be there opening night though.

I agree with LEEE, I'm rooting hard for this one to come up trumps.

Yoss - was thinking the same thing myself...
