Ghostbusters 3 Round-up
It seems every day a new rumor or minuscule bit of news emerges about the long-gestating Ghostbusters III
While I’m as geeked out as the next GB geek about the possibility of another sequel, the leaky faucet of (mis)information is exhausting. Instead, here’s a small digest of GB3 news to satisfy your ‘Buster needs:
Dan Aykroyd, one of the originals, is excited about the Ghostbusters 3 script, according to an interview in Vanity Fair, which he says has the “comic role of a lifetime” for Bill Murray. Film Drunk confirmed Aykroyd is not writing the sequel, and the only writers thus far is “The Office” duo, Gene Stupnisky and Lee Eisenberg. By the way, they’re still sticking with the concept of passing the torch to a newer, younger team.
Sigourney Weaver told Bloody-Disgusting she has received the call from series director Ivan Reitman. She confirmed her son in the series, Oscar, is growing up to become a Ghostbuster, before concluding with “I would be surprised if we didn’t do it.”
An Italian Ghostbusters website has heard the script has been approved. Yay! I’ll believe it when the cameras roll, ragazzino.
Murray donned the Ghostbusters uniform and proton pack at the 2010 Scream Awards when accepting “Best Horror Film” for Zombieland.
Aykroyd has mentioned Eliza Dushku as a possible cast member for the new team. What does Count Dushku think about the idea? Surprise! She’d like a role in the sequel, according to Monsters and Critics. What did you expect? ”Millions of dollars and a chance to revive my career? No, I wouldn’t be interested in that.”
This concludes your Ghostbusters 3 round-up. I hope it was as exhilarating for you as it was for me.
