Micro-News: Almost A Lizard, Pharrell And Hans Zimmer Reteam And Zachary Levi On Fandral
"Sam Raimi kept saying that if he had kept going, that pretty soon he was going to have the Lizard appear." "Hans Zimmer and I are scoring “The Amazing Spider-Man 2." "Well, Fandral is this Errol Flynn-Lothario type who’s a ladies man, but also arguably the best swordsman in Asgard."
Dylan Baker reflects a bit on his time as Curt Connors in Sam Raimi's Spider-Man franchise with Nerd Reactor. You can next see Baker in Anchorman 2.
Dylan Baker: "But I think it would have been a little strange, some of the people [from the Raimi franchise], even if it was just me, carrying it over to the new film. It was a whole new regime and the guys had a chance to do their whole thing. Tough thing for me was that Sam Raimi kept saying that if he had kept going, that pretty soon he was going to have the Lizard appear and do the whole treatment, and that would have been fun. But I’m glad that The Lizard finally made it and I thought they did a great job with the new film."
Speaking of The Amazing Spider-Man, when talking about his upcoming projects, the multitalented Pharrell revealed that he's re-teaming with Hans Zimmer to score The Amazing Spider-Man 2. Previously, the two worked together on the score for Man of Steel.
Pharrell: "...Nelly has this really big record named “Rick James.” That’s my jam. Hans Zimmer and I are scoring “The Amazing Spiderman 2..."
Zachary Levi spoke with ComicMix about a number of topics including his role as Fandral in Thor: The Dark World.
Zachary Levi: "Well, Fandral is this Errol Flynn-Lothario type who’s a ladies man, but also arguably the best swordsman in Asgard – or the Nine Realms, I think he would argue. And I mean, the movie is really still Thor and Jane; it’s their movie." [Speaking on how he replaced Josh Dallas, who originally replaced him in the first Thor] "Yeah, it was very, very strange how that all worked. We’ve definitely joked about it – I’ve met Josh before, and he’s just a sweetheart of a guy and super talented, and it was very funny how all of that ended up panning out. But I was grateful that ultimately – after having completely let go of the job, because I thought “this is never happening” – then it came back around. That was kind of like, “Wow, this is very strange.” [And on reading Thor comics in preparation for the role.] "I was definitely familiar with Fandral to an extent, but I really got to know him actually when the first movie came around and I was getting cast; and then a little bit more for this one. But honestly, there’s not that much to find in the comics. The Warriors Three are definitely within Thor mythology, but there’s not that much. But in some ways that’s kind of fun, because it allows you to put your own mark on something, where fanboys and fangirls aren’t like, “Waitaminute! That’s not Fandral!”
