The uber talented Chris Samnee (read my 2013 interview with him here) did a warm up sketch, imagining what the Netflix Daredevil cowl will look like. Is this the direction you hope the Drew Goddard superhero drama will take?

Chris Samnee Netflix Daredevil

Drew Pearce breaks down an obscure easter egg in All Hail the King with MTV. "I think it's definitely worth looking up the young prisoner that asks Trevor to do an impression of the Mandarin. It's definitely worth people keeping an eye on as a character. What you can't quite see is that there's a tattoo by his eye that isn't a teardrop, as one might normally expect, but is actually a tiny chess pawn tattoo." That actor, Allen Maldonado, is listed as Fletcher Heggs, an obscure Iron Man villain called The Knight who was a one-time stooge for Obadiah Stane.

Watch this supercut of every human death and zombie kill from the first season of The Walking Dead via The Cinema Nut.

I knew it! Through my virgin eyes.
NovaCorpsFan - 2/13/2014, 9:09 AM
Nice little random cameo there and that DD design looks badass.
MrMartinMarvel - 2/13/2014, 9:11 AM
That Daredevil sketch is awesome! I especially love how the ears are exposed so he can hear better.
Pasto - 2/13/2014, 9:12 AM
They're going for a more armored look. That lets me know this Daredevil will not be as refined as he is currently.
Omarvls - 2/13/2014, 9:12 AM
Yeah you forget that Marvel besides new threads for Iron Man, Cap, Hawkeye, Thor in Age of Ultron they still have to unveil new ones for

Scarlett Witch
The Vision
Iron Fist
Luke Cage
Ant Man

To be 100% clear, this is just a warm-up sketch Chris did. He's not working on the Netflix series.
DrDoom - 2/13/2014, 9:14 AM
Awesome Daredevil sketch, and I did notice that cameo actually.
GizmoEl - 2/13/2014, 9:15 AM
Can't believe were getting 4 series next year on netflix. Can't wait for the casting announcements!
NovaCorpsFan - 2/13/2014, 9:16 AM
Oh, right. Still, it's an awesome sketch, though.
Wildaniel - 2/13/2014, 9:17 AM
Amy dies twice, as a human then a walker, lol.
ALmazing - 2/13/2014, 9:17 AM
That Daredevil cowl looks very Dark Knight inspired, I like it.

ezio619 - 2/13/2014, 9:17 AM
im interested in what costume they do go with in terms of daredevil and iron fist, i think we are getting the immortal iron fist costume
Pasto - 2/13/2014, 9:18 AM
The theme song for the Daredevil show should be Hall and Oates 'Everytime I look at You'.
KryptoKNIGHT - 2/13/2014, 9:18 AM
Love that cowl design. Still think Michael C. Hall would own in the role with the right approach.
Pasto - 2/13/2014, 9:19 AM
'Baby it's good BYEEEEEEE!'
beto - 2/13/2014, 9:19 AM
THe 2003 movie suit was ok
zemus - 2/13/2014, 9:19 AM
With Chris being the current artist for Daredevil, it would not be unlikely for Marvel to get his input.
NovaCorpsFan - 2/13/2014, 9:20 AM

Me too.

TheClemster - 2/13/2014, 9:22 AM
Hum I might convert to the Netflix mania after all
Pasto - 2/13/2014, 9:23 AM
The heavy, I love 'em.
zemus - 2/13/2014, 9:23 AM
beto - 2/13/2014, 9:23 AM
I just want to see the Affleck costume on the new guy.
Pasto - 2/13/2014, 9:24 AM
NO NO! Hall and Oates 'You Make my Dreams'. That'd be an awesome theme song.
antoineflemming - 2/13/2014, 9:27 AM
Looks REALLY cool, but also looks kinda like Avengers Captain America.
Pasto - 2/13/2014, 9:27 AM
"What I want you've got, And it might be hard to handle, Like the flame that burns the candle, The candle."
beto - 2/13/2014, 9:30 AM

Pasto - 2/13/2014, 9:30 AM
"The candle feeds the flame (yeah yeah)
what I've got is full stock of thoughts and dreams that scatter
And you pull them all together

soforizo - 2/13/2014, 9:31 AM
Looks pretty good, but can one of you guys fill me in how a blind man is supposed to build a suit looking like that? How does Murdock got about it in the comics?

Personally, I would hope for something more simple at first, maybe later through the help of an ally he can get something a little more fancy.
charlie2094 - 2/13/2014, 9:32 AM
Cool, didn't notice that cameo at all, nice little touch. All Hail the King was awesome, great watch

The Daredevil sketch looks good, would be down for something like that!
marvel72 - 2/13/2014, 9:33 AM
daredevil vs the punisher is needed for this netflix show.
marvel72 - 2/13/2014, 9:33 AM
@ zemus

fantastic iron fist costume.
RedeemerOfSouls - 2/13/2014, 9:34 AM
I think DD and Batman need to have reasons why they can perform such impossible athletic feats other than a normal person capable of such abilities.
Because in a way the idea of a normal man doing what they and other non super powered heroes do is more impossible to believe than a guy with superpowers.

Why I say that is we see what happens when well trained and conditioned athletes perform at high levels; they get hurt. Imagine a superhero fighting and chasing guys and their hamstring blows out. They herniate a disc, possibly as easily as NFL QB Romo did a couple months ago.
They break an arm or a leg in a freak accident while fighting as we've seen in MMA.
They blow out a knee, ankle, or some nobody gets a lucky shot to the jaw.

The more we see athletes getting hurt in high level sports the more ludicrous a normal human super hero becomes. And if a vigilante suffered any of those injuries I mentioned, in a serious fight they would be dead. If they were injured just running or swinging around town they would be out of action.
AGoodHonestMan - 2/13/2014, 9:35 AM
They're probably going to go with the Ultimate Iron Fist look.
ezio619 - 2/13/2014, 9:36 AM
i think the tone we are getting we the daredevil show is the current mark waid series which is really great but they have said that these shows will show amore gritty side to the universe and plus drew goddard is a HUGE daredevil fan so hopefully he pulls it off, the iron fist one is most likley going to take influence from immortal iron fist and i love that book so yeah awesome....EVERYTHING IS AWESOME!!
MercwithMouth - 2/13/2014, 9:39 AM
Wow @Pasto, I thought I smoked too much pot... On that OG Kush ain't ya?

I really, really hope that these Netflix shows are great. I just wish I could get Netflix where I live, stupid [frick]ing squirrel-fart little town.
ezio619 - 2/13/2014, 9:40 AM
im just excited man, regardless of what you felt about the film last year(i thought they were good-really good) anyway just exciting times ahead for us superhero fans, we get CAP,SPIDEY,XMEN AND GUARDIANS THIS YEAR, NEXT YEAR WE GET THE NETFLIX SHOWS, ANT MAN, AVENGERS AGE OF ULTRON, FF AND THEN 2016, BATMAN VS SUPERMAN, TASM 3 AND XMEN APOCALYPSE
zemus - 2/13/2014, 9:42 AM

I hope not. But I would be ok with this for a few episodes before he gets a read suit and fights crime:

ezio619 - 2/13/2014, 9:45 AM
