DC/WB don't know what they are doing period.
TheRealRemyLebeau - 1/24/2014, 2:28 PM
Cliff hangers that go into each film. What if no one seen anything prior or don't want to. Gal Gadot was a terrible casting in my opinion.
GinjaNinja - 1/24/2014, 2:28 PM
yeah they are kinda all over the place
THEDARKKNIGHT1939 - 1/24/2014, 2:31 PM
I don't giva [frick] if people would say they are copying Marvel. They should have made solo films first, then make JL.

Call it copying, I don't giva shit. Besides, DC was the first to come up with the idea back in 1960 when the first JL comic came out.
Vegeta - 1/24/2014, 2:32 PM
There were cliffhangers at the end of The Fellowship of the Ring, The Two Towers, There and Back again and The Desolation of Smaug and it worked out great for them. Cliffhangers leave people wanting more and it does it without the having to make people wait until the mid-credits end.
SaxoWolf - 1/24/2014, 2:33 PM
flame war in...3...2...
GinjaNinja - 1/24/2014, 2:36 PM
exactly THEDARKKNIGHT they should have taken their time.
McNyagano - 1/24/2014, 2:37 PM
WB/Dc should focus on getting their shit together not focus on 'death-throning Marvel.
TheRealRemyLebeau - 1/24/2014, 2:38 PM
WB wants to steal Marvels one shot idea. Smh. Too many hands in a cookie jar. Hey WB focus on creating a good superman film and don't ruin Henry Cavills good name. Also Ben Affleck will never be Batman to me. Recent photos of him look terrible with his fat face and dolphin teeth.
kinghulk - 1/24/2014, 2:38 PM
arowhead77- thats your opinion so far i think Phase 2 is better, but keep in mind there is another 3 phase 3 films left.
TheRealRemyLebeau - 1/24/2014, 2:40 PM
@Batmaniac but peter Jackson isn't overseeing the dc universe. That's it!!! They should hire peter Jackson or somebody with a brain.
kinghulk - 1/24/2014, 2:41 PM
i also find it funny DC claiming they arent gonna copy marvel but they already have by starting their own film universe and by saying they are gonna make short films. and the cliffhangers things sounds to me like putting a after credit scene before the credits.
SpiderFraud - 1/24/2014, 2:41 PM
Funny how people think DC are stealing ideas from Marvel.....is it even a bad thing if they are?
Omarvls - 1/24/2014, 2:41 PM
Love both DC/WB and Marvel
Enphlieuwince - 1/24/2014, 2:41 PM
Vegeta - 1/24/2014, 2:42 PM
I'd prefer if DC do something similar to the Lord of the Rings with their Cinematic Universe and make each movie a episode/chapter. There have been 8 Origin movies in the last 6 years and to be honest, I'm starting to get bored of origin movies.
Enphlieuwince - 1/24/2014, 2:43 PM
TheRealRemyLebeau - 1/24/2014, 2:43 PM
@ Areopagus lmao!!!!! And so true. Marvel studios will probably have made 20 billion dollars with the mcu by the time WB makes a third dc universe movie. Sad and shameful.
nikgrid - 1/24/2014, 2:48 PM
The short film idea is cool, the DC animated features had shorts on them and they were [frick]ing brilliant.
marvel72 - 1/24/2014, 2:49 PM
warner bros haven't a clue, marvel are so ahead of them its embarrassing.by the time batman vs superman comes out we will have five more movies from marvel studios & whatever sony & fox decide to release.

it wouldn't be so bad if warner releasesd one comic book movie a year but no that's too much to ask.the cliffhanger endings as well stupid idea, the rate warner release comic book movies one every three years, people won't want to wait that long for a continuation only to get another cliffhanger.
Vegeta - 1/24/2014, 2:50 PM
You don't have to do an origin movie to introduce a character. My first Batman comic wasn't Year One. The truth is, for the most part, especially with the characters in the Justice League, I wasn't introduced to them through their origins. I later went back and read their origins after I got into the characters. Why can't the same be done for the movie? I mean its not like its unheard of in Hollywood. Its called a prequel.
nikgrid - 1/24/2014, 2:50 PM
Marvel kind of copied WB by putting their comics on the big screen.
McNyagano - 1/24/2014, 2:50 PM
Also isn't the short film thing basically like the Marvel On-shots?
REPOMAN - 1/24/2014, 2:51 PM

DC doesn't have a strategy.

SpiderFraud - 1/24/2014, 2:51 PM

TheRealRemyLebeau - 1/24/2014, 2:52 PM
@ Enphlieuwince Hell Boy was a good movie. I hope del toro does Dr. Strange.
Vegeta - 1/24/2014, 2:54 PM

The short film thing isn't like Marvel One-Shots. Marvel One-Shot's are like DC Animated Shorts. Extras on a DvD. According to the short film rumor, the short film is meant to play after the theatrical movie, similar to Marvel's mid-credit/after-credit scene, only longer.
GodzillaKart - 1/24/2014, 2:54 PM
I like the short film idea. It works great in Marvel one shots. Before or after the actual film ( I prefer before) would be great as well.
TheRealRemyLebeau - 1/24/2014, 2:55 PM
DC films need origins for the big characters. It has to happen. Maybe not for Batman anymore but the rest yes.
blackscienceman - 1/24/2014, 2:55 PM
OH BOY!!! Time for a flame war
GodzillaKart - 1/24/2014, 2:56 PM
Personally, I think the constant cliff hanger idea is terrible. I hate waiting at the end of the season of a favorite TV show for the resolution to a cliff hanger. Imagine waiting 2 years. I wouldn't care anymore.
TheRealRemyLebeau - 1/24/2014, 2:58 PM
@ Areopagus I feel your pain buddy. I wish fox studios would get their act together on my Uncanny X-Men. :(
nikgrid - 1/24/2014, 2:58 PM
yeah cliffhangers are fine, but not on every god dman film.
GodzillaKart - 1/24/2014, 2:59 PM
@Bravado: And in one fell swoop you have described my life.
EarOne - 1/24/2014, 2:59 PM
WB's got TOO MANY on their plate..?? then set up a new separated movie studio exclusively for DCU movies, yo! that's NOT an excuse..having too many flicks on their plate.. Start a DCE studio or something with someone- a Kevin Feige-type (someone who knows his DC comic books AND the workings of movie making), then you can compete with marvel.
Vegeta - 1/24/2014, 2:59 PM
Characters don't need an origin movie to be introduced and to have a successful movie. Its funny you mention Batman Remy, because his first big blockbuster movie wasn't an origin movie. In fact, Batman got his first origin movie 16 years later.
THEDARKKNIGHT1939 - 1/24/2014, 2:59 PM
They could show the characters origins in the opening credits. It is very simple.
TheRealRemyLebeau - 1/24/2014, 3:00 PM
@Batmaniac we always had a scene or glimpse into Batmans past for years.
Marvel1997 - 1/24/2014, 3:01 PM
Uhh Marvel One-Shots are also meant to connect certain things between movies (E.g: Recealing how SHIELD originally wanted Abomination for The Avengers Initiative and They sent stark to go and talk with Gen Ross which explains why He showed up at the end of the Incredible Hulk.. And dc/wb should have had their ""full visualization"" of the film ready before they decided to rush Snyder out on Stage at Comic-Con 13 just to compete with everyone else.. Get your shit together....
GodzillaKart - 1/24/2014, 3:01 PM
@Batmaniac: You're right. Especially with well known characters. One exception, I think, is Wonder Woman, only because I think the version they put on film is going to be much different that what the GA is expecting. But...that background could be done in 10 minutes in a film with multiple characters.
