Marvel’s “Thor: The Dark World” continues the big-screen adventures of Thor, the Mighty Avenger, as he battles to save Earth and all the Nine Realms from a shadowy enemy that predates the universe itself. Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston, Anthony Hopkins, Natalie Portman, Rene Russo, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Zachary Levi, Jaimie Alexander, Ray Stevenson, Kat Dennings, Christopher Eccleston, and Idris Elba.

I like that word Nail.

Faptacular.
ALegendaryPanda - 6/12/2014, 10:55 PM
This movie honestly has some of the best artwork I've ever seen.
Spock0Clock - 6/12/2014, 10:59 PM
I'm still blown away by the Dark Elf minion design. This costume tells you all you need to know about these dudes. It's a [frick]ing masterpiece. It's too bad they weren't well-utilized and the movie was overall less than spectacular.

Seriously, look at that closely. Those emotionless masks, pitch black goggles, and ear holes. Those are sci fi dark elves done right.
Nomis - 6/12/2014, 11:00 PM
Beautiful artwork.

And Frigga's funeral scene was absolute exquisite!
Nemeres - 6/12/2014, 11:04 PM
Good shit, Miroki.
loki668 - 6/12/2014, 11:06 PM
Thor could make the best episode of "Cribs" EVER!!!!!!

ChrisMc - 6/12/2014, 11:08 PM
Whoever designed Asgard should design Wakanda
BlindJustice - 6/12/2014, 11:11 PM
My family and I really enjoyed this movie. We're huge fans of fantasy as well as sci-fi and this movie definitely didn't disappoint! Thor was much tougher in this movie just as Cap was much tougher in his 2nd installment.

Ultron better be a [frick]ing super badass to take on the Avengers in AoU is all I'm going to say!
TheGambitFreakIsBatmanOfCBM - 6/12/2014, 11:29 PM
Loved the movie, despite it being edited down greatly. But it's most agonizing setback is the same problem the 1st movie had... And that's Darcy.
malekithdude - 6/12/2014, 11:34 PM
This probably could've been a spectacular film if it had not be cut down to merely nothing. The Dark Elves were a visually stunning enemy, yet they were hardly even shown at all and masses of their screen time was cut, as numerous fight scenes filmed with them never turned up in the final cut.
Such a disappointment.
CarlXVIGarfield - 6/12/2014, 11:37 PM
@BlindJustice

yea I really enjoyed the movie too, that mix of sci-fi and fantasy was done just right in my opinion. Looking forward to the next one!
DeusExSponge - 6/12/2014, 11:51 PM
The Dark Elves should have been in the movie for a lot longer! The villains were so unforgettable and that's really sad seeing as how fantastic the design is and that Malekith was being played Christopher Eccelston! If only Earth wasn't so involved in this movie and that the run time for it wasn't so short. Can't believe they wasted time on Darcy and the others and left the villains so little time to develop.

I'm hoping that the villain for the third Thor movie gets a better treatment, heck I hope the third movie can reach the quality of either Iron Man or The Winter Soldier. Seriously, Thor is getting the short end of the stick in the MCU and I hope they rectify that by ending Thors trilogy with a bang.
Snotzo - 6/13/2014, 12:08 AM
I concur with my peeps saying they should have showcased the Dark Elves more. They were awesome, I called them as villains back in 2011. Now I am hoping for Enchantress, Skurge, and Surtur for Thor 3 please, Loki is a given.
RobtimusPrime - 6/13/2014, 12:10 AM
The artwork for this & Cap TWS have been incredibly beautiful.
"Majestic" indeed.
MightyZeus - 6/13/2014, 1:30 AM
The concept art is majestic indeed. This film just needed more Dark Elves and more Malekith and less Darcy.
mgeoff88 - 6/13/2014, 1:38 AM
Incredibly concept art! Richard Anderson is a very talented artist.
hulkrash - 6/13/2014, 2:19 AM
All the concept art for this movie has been top notch, amazing stuff. To bad this movie was mediocre.
case - 6/13/2014, 2:24 AM
This movie rocked. Don't know why it gets a bad rap sometimes.
GUNSMITH - 6/13/2014, 2:53 AM
THE CGSCAPES WERE JUST AWESOME...THEY REALLY DID AN AWESOME JOB AND THE ARTISTS WERE AMAZING
Thecondor14 - 6/13/2014, 3:18 AM
@case

It gets a bad rep because the edited out a lot of the parts that could possibly have made the villains more interesting in favor of a bunch of bad, unnecessary, and ill timed jokes, that some times undercut what should have been very heavy moments. Now don't get me wrong I don't mind jokes, it't one of the best parts of the avengers for me, but when they feel so forced and unnatural they completely take you out of the experience. I do like the movie just not as much as i could have.

ps Great artwork this movie was beautiful
SuperCat - 6/13/2014, 3:40 AM
Museum worthy.
Jollem - 6/13/2014, 3:47 AM
as far as 2's go, asm 2 > thor 2
Gmoney84 - 6/13/2014, 3:55 AM
Thor 2 was actually pretty good.
peppy - 6/13/2014, 4:02 AM
This movie had so much potential but failed so hard with the forced humour and useless characters
lexxust - 6/13/2014, 5:01 AM
they made asgard a little too scientific and not enough mystical. i hope they fix this in number 3
0megaDaGod - 6/13/2014, 5:14 AM
The only issue with Thor TDW was that it was a great movie that settled for being good too often. It would be nice to have seen what the movie was like if they hadn't edited out so many of the best parts, and if Jaimie Alexander hadn't gotten injured, negating the love triangle element which would've led to more Warriors 3, a crew which could've injected much needed heart into the movie.

Also, this movie should've gotten IM3's budget. The final battle was cool, but aside from focusing less on the humans, it also needed the money that would've allowed Thor to go full god mode on Malekith.

Also, they should've written Thor with a stronger arc. I recently watched Thor and Thor TDW back to back, and it's pretty obvious that Branaugh had a better grasp on the world and characters, while Taylor had a better grasp on the visuals. Even still, I think Branaugh may have made a better movie, but I still think Taylor had a 5 star movie in there that got edited out in the name of shoehorning in the Infinity Stone subplot

A 2.5 hour version of Thor TDW with a longer intro battle between Asgard and the Marauders would've been perfect. This movie was still a cut above the other CBMs we got last year, but that's mainly because it didn't set many goals, and never tried to be that great, while the others set too many and failed more often than not. They really need to basically take the 2nd and 3rd acts of Thor TDW and just make an entire movie out of that, because once the Elves show up in Asgard the movie becomes truly epic from both a writing and action standpoint. But again, if this CBM was made by anyone else it would'nt be nearly as hated on. But as a movie in the same universe as Avengers and following up that movie, people expected more. And this movie only somewhat delivered
p0ppysmic - 6/13/2014, 5:22 AM
Still wondering why CBMs like this one is not on Oscars
Jollem - 6/13/2014, 5:41 AM
dis movie bad cuz writing, cohesive, and development
VictorHugo - 6/13/2014, 6:06 AM
Amazing. Akin to a "Final Fantasy" game.
FerFogs - 6/13/2014, 6:51 AM
Trollem, teollem... you never disappoint.

Jeez you don't have a single thing to say, that's why you talk so much.
batz11 - 6/13/2014, 7:17 AM
Nice try Jollem, ha, ha...that one made me laugh for real...

Love this concept art, thanks for always sharing this stuff @Nail!
RetroFit - 6/13/2014, 7:38 AM
The bad guys in this movie failed MISERABLY. I liked Loki's arc, despite him looking like Sarah Gilbert half the time. I wish they could have found a way to tease Surtur and the other realms better. I thought we'd see all the other realms in some form, even if just in the movie intro.

RetroFit - 6/13/2014, 7:40 AM
Darcy was also a bit much. Check that...a LOT much. They should have given her 3 quips. That's it. Totally overdid it.
earzmundo - 6/13/2014, 8:00 AM
magnifico
Ramiel - 6/13/2014, 8:06 AM
Beautiful artwork. Shame that we didn't see any of this in the movie. Marvel Studios has been slacking with Thor and his movies. Honestly, they don't know what they are doing. Thor was nerfed badly in TDW, Sif and the Warriors Three barely had screen time, Tyr only had two scenes, Malekith and Kurse were barely developed, and the battles were so short.

I seriously want Fiege to answer why Thor's movies are so short, while Cap and IM movies can be over two hours long.
BasedThanos - 6/13/2014, 9:53 AM
The Thor movies are never as epic looking as their concept art. They feel so cheap and watered down.
yossarian - 6/13/2014, 9:55 AM
While I liked Thor 2 and I appreciate that Nails always has concept art and I enjoy looking at said concept art I WILL NEVER have sex with you nails. Stop emailing me about it.
BasedThanos - 6/13/2014, 9:58 AM
SPOILER!

I think if Thor and Jane split up in Avengers AOU, I think Thor 3 should make Thor raw as [frick] like in the first movie. I think Thor spending so much time on Earth among mortals made him soft. I could see Odin or another Asgardian telling Thor that.
