The good news: Transformers: Age of Extinction is the top performing film of 2014. It is the only film to cross over the billion dollar mark this year. Currently, it is also the biggest domestic hit with $243M (75% of earnings from overseas). The bad news: Michael Bay probably isn't directing the next installment and Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy will eventually overtake Transformers: Age of Extinction as the domestic box office champ. Now, come check out a neat visual effects breakdown of Transformers 4 by Method Studios.
TRANSFORMERS: AGE OF EXTINCTION - The film begins after an epic battle that left a great city torn, but with the world saved. As humanity picks up the pieces, a shadowy group reveals itself in an attempt to control the direction of history… while an ancient, powerful new menace sets Earth in its crosshairs. With help from a new cast of humans, Optimus Prime and the Autobots rise to meet their most fearsome challenge yet. In an incredible adventure, they are swept up in a war of good and evil, ultimately leading to a climactic battle across the world.

TRANSFORMERS 4 will be directed by Michael Bay, from a script written by Ehren Kruger. The cast includes: Mark Wahlberg, Kelsey Grammar, Nicola Peltz, Stanley Tucci and Jack Reynor. Set for release on June 27th, 2014!

I don't want to discredit the VFX team but this movie was really bad. You could just tell that no effort whatsoever went into the script or filming of it.

Can't wait to see what a talented director can do with these movies. Michael Bay is a hack! The visuals and a decent script could be special.

Boom boom Bay is at it again with THE best CG special effects crews, of course.

No matter how amazing the CGI, it doesn't make up for lack of story though.

Maybe the next director will get the story straight, but maintain the visuals. One can only hope.

I have a certain proposition with a former CIA agent to make all of these men and women "magically disappear".

Anybody I've missed? This our one shot guys! If you've got a grudge or just flat out hate a certain celebrity, lay it all out there.

Movie had some cool potential but they blew it away literally but hey it had some cool effects.I do think that a reboot is inevatable because there is no way they will do TF5 in space or even worse a TF5 on Earth without Optimus Prime so Paramount do yourselves a favor and
You may reboot, just this one time
Do it Paramount

@AlexanderLykins Nah I can handle Lindelof and Megan Fox you can spare them but those need to be terminated with extreme prejudice

The VFX is the only good thing about the movie.

That's totally in the wrong order, man.

Its like the movie knows how bad it is - even the VFX chose to show the scene of a barely legal teenager playing a barely legal character in a barely legal relationship having an alien tongue wrap around her leg heading to her crotch...
